00:00Here's something that came out, and it was, I think, meant to be about a pitch to LeBron James,
00:06but for most of us, it quickly became something very different,
00:10and that is Draymond on his Draymond Green show talking about,
00:15remember when Yaxel made a pitch to LeBron?
00:17And we have that too.
00:19So listen, this is from the Bleacher Report earlier in the week.
00:23Someone asked Yaxel, Lindeborg, for those of you who don't speak Warriors yet,
00:29but what's your pitch to LeBron?
00:30My pitch is, man, I know you don't like rookies that much, man,
00:34but I'm not the average rookie, you know, and I would love to learn under you, man.
00:40So, I mean, if you're looking to play with one of the greatest, the greatest shooter of all time
00:44and a close friend of yours right now, it'll be great to come to Warriors,
00:47and we'll be glad to have you, you know?
00:49Okay, so there's Yaxel's pitch. Very compelling.
00:52Right, we'll be glad to have you. I've been here for nine days, but we'll be glad to have you.
00:56Yeah, if you want to play with a bunch of people that I haven't played with yet,
00:59but you already have played with them before, then hey, join us.
01:02And then Draymond Green, it very much feels to me like he was asked to respond to this
01:09with the way he references it, but check it out.
01:11This is Draymond kind of doing a review of the Yaxel pitch.
01:15A lot of people I saw, like, oh, man, Yaxel gave his pitch to LeBron.
01:19Like, what about his pitch?
01:21And he said, I know you don't like rookies that much, but I'm not the average rookie.
01:25If you're looking to play with the greatest shooter of all time,
01:27and Draymond will be glad to have you.
01:32Is the pitch too weak or too strong? I don't know.
01:34I think the pitch is pointless, you know?
01:40But it's fine. Training camp is coming soon enough, and, you know,
01:45you've got to rein the rookie in a little bit, you know, teach him a few things.

03:00and he hit Yax with a bunch of Yax.

03:05And it just reminded me a little bit of when I was a pledge in the fraternity back in 89,
03:11where the first four or five weeks of pledging is parties and sunshine,
03:15and you're laughing it up, and then there's a day when pledging begins.
03:19And that, for this, is training camp.
03:22You're not insinuating that he was threatening Yaxle.
03:26No, it's not a physical threat, but the threat is when you get here with the real club and training

03:33things are going to be a little bit different.

03:51It depends on how this training camp goes, because that was a training camp.

04:17This was not a threat of physical violence, but it was clearly a statement that was intentional
04:21about, like, your pitch.
04:25Basically, you're a rookie, Yaks.
04:27When you come to training camp, training camp's coming soon, and at that point, things are
04:32going to be a little bit different as far as, you know, your pitch, and summer's over.

04:39Like, you're having a party, you're in Vegas, you're the BMOC, you're scoring all the points.

04:47You got the box plus minus, turned all the way up, you got a big smile, you're doing a
04:52lot of media, you've kind of, like, playfully poked at the big guys, Steph and Draymond,
05:00and by the way, don't get me wrong, it is all good, but at a certain point, business gets
05:08to business, rookies are rookies, there's a process that every single one of them goes
05:14through, and it's going to be time to get down to brass tacks, and it won't be all the
05:21fun and games, and this is the role that Draymond, and others, by the way, there's always a few
05:26of these on every team, this is, this is their role, like, I don't know, I'm fully understanding
05:34why listening to him, after the experience that every Warrior fan has had, through the
05:39years, I get why this is triggering people, but to me, this is, this is how this works,
05:47and, and, and yes, Yaxel has set himself up for this, 100%, that's not a criticism, but
05:56he has, I just don't know, very chatty, very big personality, and Draymond, he can handle
06:00it however he wants to handle it, but he could have just let Yax have his moment, knowing that
06:06training camp is coming, and when that actually gets here in two months or whatever, things
06:11will be different, but he chose to, you know, go to it up front, that's Draymond, that's
06:16Draymond, newsflash, Draymond is being Draymond, right, again, but part of Draymond being Draymond
06:23in the past has involved other episodes that go beyond just him saying, you know, training
06:29camp is coming, yep, so that's why my mind goes to that, would love to hear from some
06:34of you, did this, did this make you kind of feel some type of way, and we'll play it for
06:40you again, in case you were kind of distracted on that, but Draymond Green kind of is asked
06:47to review the Yaxel pitch, and the next thing you know, it's kind of like, hey Yaxel, we'll
06:53see you soon at training camp.
