00:00Go ahead and pay the under. I did not have at the 12-game mark the first super introspective and fiery, sort of, but understated in terms of tone, massive Warriors post-game press briefing.
00:18I did not have it happening this early. It has. These are big words and everybody wants to know kind of the same question.
00:25I don't know that we can get to a firm answer on it, but we might as well try. So let's go ahead and unlock. Let's fire away. 888-957-9570.
00:34We'll play the sound for you in just a second. Who do you think Draymond Green was talking about?
00:40And I do not accept his answer of everybody. He's not talking about everybody. Not everybody.
00:47I think he's talking about everybody in different ways and at different levels, quite frankly.
00:53I think that he's talking about what's gone on and you're 6-6.
00:58And yeah, you gave it away against Indiana and you gacked another one away and the schedule got you in Portland or whatever the case is.
01:06I do think that he's looking around the room at everybody.
01:09And I like what Gu said about, hey, you know, we should, he should look at himself.
01:13If you're going to be a true leader, then you, hey, even myself, you know, my game hasn't been good enough.
01:19I need to give more effort and all this.
01:21But I think that he's mainly talking about Jonathan Kaminga and to an extent, Brandon Podjemski.
01:27And then other guys too, like Quentin Post.
01:29I don't think that Quentin really knows yet what he is, quote, supposed to do.
01:34Is Al playing? Is Al not? Am I getting 16 minutes? Am I getting four minutes?
01:38Do I just shoot threes? What else do I do?
01:40I think that there's a lot of role confusion still among the younger guys.
01:46And maybe, you know, I get like to a degree that makes sense at the beginning of every season, right?
01:53At the beginning of every season, you've got to sort of kind of figure the whole thing out.
01:58And that's fine.
01:59But I guess the point is, is Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler spoke publicly in a way yesterday that would suggest they're already frustrated.
02:08So, again, maybe this is a little too much psychoanalysis on my part.
02:12I'm not an expert.
02:14But my mind, as you know, always goes to the same place when you hear stuff like this.
02:20And instead of focusing on what they said, let's ask, why'd they say it?
02:25And why now?
02:25Why now?
02:26Yep.
02:26These guys, people, they're not stupid.
02:31They are not overly emotional dummies that just decided to answer a question into a microphone because Anthony Slater asked.
02:41That isn't how it works.
02:43These are professional people with podcasts that are highly listened to who are four-time champions who have been in front of microphones every day of their lives.
02:56Why did he say it?
02:58So then here we come into the room and we're like, why did you tell the guys that behind the scenes?
03:03You don't think they have.
03:04Why do you think they've got to delay a game coming out of the locker room?
03:07You think that they were just on their phone?
03:09Oh, I've got to get my Wordle done here.
03:12I can't make it out there.
03:13I forgot about Wordle.
03:14I haven't done that in a while.
03:15I've got a nice little streak going.
03:16Do you?
03:16Because I'm Bart, you know, you do a little Wordle.
03:18Yeah, I get it.
03:18I don't think that they were in there playing, like, dominoes or one more game of Madden.
03:24They were having a very serious, probably heated conversation, and you look up, it's like, uh-oh, we're late.
03:30Why now?
03:32Why did he say it?
03:34So that's where my mind goes, and my answer is for a reason.
03:40No, no, the Warriors did not forget to tell the people they're talking to what they're saying.
03:47They did not forget.
03:48They have.
03:48They have today, they have yesterday, the day before that, four times on Sunday.
03:55Oh, by the way, they did it last year, and they did it the year before that.
03:59Because Brandon Pajemski and Jonathan Kaminga and whoever else is a part of this, they've been on the team for a while now.
04:07Let's not forget, it was around this time last year that Steve Kerr banged a table.
04:13He knows he can't do that.
04:14In a post-game press conference about Brandon Pajemski.
04:17He was screaming about it.
04:20He didn't do that because it was the first time and someone asked.
04:24He did it because he's been begging Brandon for a long time to get his head screwed on straight, and he wasn't seeing it, so then you take it public.
04:32He cannot be that guy.
04:34There you go.
04:34That was around this time last year.
04:37So, yes, Brandon has been told and Jonathan has been told and they've been begging them, and I think that they thought they saw a damn breakthrough two weeks ago with Jonathan.
04:50And then, as I likened it to in the crossover, it's like addiction, man.
04:55The dude fell off the wagon.
04:57Steph Curry got injured or got sick, and Jonathan Kaminga has had a relapse.
05:04Doesn't mean that, again.
05:05You're making it seem like it's just easy to go out there and play 82 great games.
05:09I'm not making it seem like anything.
05:11I'm simply telling you what I see that they see that they're saying.
05:17Draymond Green had a lengthy, thoughtful post-game press conference into a microphone.
05:22They are clearly frustrated by something.
05:25And Jonathan has been wonderful this year, and then he wasn't.
05:29And if the Warriors see that, I can see why that would frustrate them.
05:35And Pods has been kind of, I don't know, unhinged and all over.
05:39That's how I would describe his game this year.
05:41Yep.
05:42He's pressing a little bit.
05:43It's weird.
05:44And he was pressing at the beginning of last year.
05:46And if it is because he wants to be better than Steph Curry someday, then yes, someone should sit him down and say, come up with a new goal.
05:54How about eight points a game and good passes?
05:57And that's basically what he does.
05:58Yeah, calm down.
06:00Like everybody.
06:00Well, he has to play with that frenetic edge at all times.
06:03That's what makes him so great.
06:05But he is not making the smart play.
06:07And defensively, he is overmatched.
06:10And that, to me, if you want to look at the last seven games, they've won two of them.
06:15Your boy John Bloom in Phoenix came to town, and that was an easy one.
06:18And you got a nice revenge game against Indiana, which was also easy.
06:21But you've lost five of seven.
06:23So you ask why now?
06:25Why now is because you've got no business being 6-6, losing to Sacramento, and losing that game to Indiana, losing to Milwaukee without Giannis.
06:34You can occasionally drop those games, but they are blowing games.
06:38They are smoking these games.
06:40And, yeah, Kaminga last night was not good.
06:44It was the old Kaminga.
06:45But over the last seven games, honestly, who has been good?
06:49Almost nobody's been what you would say of like, oh, you're playing well right now.
06:53You're playing great.
06:55None of them are playing well.
06:56No, and now we get into the whole your favorite word, complimentary.
07:00Like, I know there are a lot of people that are like, how the hell can the vets be talking?
07:03They look like crap, too.
07:05Yeah, that's not what it's about for me.
07:08They are Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler.
07:10And, yes, the rules are different for them.
07:12This is their team.
07:13This is their team.
07:14And they've achieved a whole lot of stuff throughout the years.
07:17And so, yes, people should listen to them.
07:20And if they have a bad game, okay, they have a bad game.
07:23And, by the way, if the young guys have a bad game, can have a bad game.
07:27It's not about having a good game or a bad game.
07:29It's about the way you play.
07:30And, clearly, they are having a hard time with the way someone or a number of people are playing.
07:40I mean, that's clear enough to me.
07:42Yeah.
07:42I can't definitively tell you who it is or who it isn't, but that much is clear.
07:48Is it not?
07:49Of course.
07:50Okay.
07:50But I think that Draymond Green can also look in the mirror and be somebody to come out and say,
07:55Yeah, I'm not playing very well either.
07:57I'm not doing what I need to do defensively.
08:00Maybe he's not able to do it as much anymore.
08:03Jimmy Butler, I don't think, has been aggressive enough on offense.
08:06And Steph Curry last night, he didn't have it.
08:08Well, Jimmy and Steph did call themselves out.
08:11Right.
08:11But Draymond didn't is my point.
08:13Draymond.
08:14Draymond and his words.
08:15But if we're going to talk about Draymond and his words, then let's talk about Draymond and his words.
08:20But he's Draymond Green.
08:21Right.
08:22He's Draymond.
08:22It doesn't make it right, though.
08:23It doesn't make it wrong.
08:24I can be critical of him not pointing the finger at himself when he was no better than anybody else.
08:30Again, I think that's spotlighting one game or one, you know what I mean, series of results,
08:37as opposed to talking about the philosophical approach to how the Warriors are going to play basketball.
08:43I think that that's what the difference is here.
08:45So if you want him to apologize, because he's...
08:48I didn't say he needs to apologize.
08:49Whatever, like accountability.
08:51I always like, I don't know, this is a thing that so many fans want.
08:56You all want people to come to the microphone and immediately be like, here's all the places that I screwed up and I'm really sorry about it.
09:03And it starts with me and all that stuff.
09:05It's all lip service anyway.
09:06They're talking about big picture issues, not Draymond got cooked on the block a time or two last night.
09:15That's all.
09:15I don't know why we asked for that so much.
09:18It doesn't matter.
09:19These are bigger, bigger issues than that.
09:20We're going to go to the phones.
09:23Greg Cosell in an hour, 888-957-9570.
09:26If you're on hold right now, stay right there.
09:29How'd you translate what you heard last night?
09:31And yes, we'll play it literally in just a sec.
09:33I do want to also mention, it's time to get engaged, Dub Nation.

09:51Warriors 2-5 in their last seven.
09:53Should Steve Kerr shake up the starting lineup?
09:55Go Moody in, JK out.
09:57Yes or no?
09:58Vote right now on our Twitter poll, and we'll share the results toward the end.
10:03All right, let's let you hear this thing so that we can continue to talk it out.
10:08Here's how it started with a question of what's different between the Jimmy Butler games last year and this year.
10:14What do you think is the biggest difference between the way you ended last season once Jimmy got here and what's going on right now?
10:21I think everybody was committed to winning and doing that in any way possible.
10:26And right now, it doesn't feel that way.
10:29Personal agenda type stuff or like, you know, I mean, I guess how was you kind of?
10:33I think everyone has a personal agenda in this league, but you have to make those personal agenda work in the team confines.
10:40And if it doesn't work, then you kind of got to get rid of your agenda or eventually the agenda is the cause of someone getting rid of you.
10:47And so I think you don't want a team with no personal agendas because a goal is an agenda, you know?
10:54And so you got to have some type of personal agenda.
10:57But like I said, your personal agenda must fit into the confines of the team.
11:02All right, so who's he talking about?
11:04Are you thumbs up or thumbs down on the fact that he said it and what he said?
