00:00All right, a little believe it or not.
00:02Believe it or not, Paul, Jerry Slipinski, if that's how you say his name,
00:09Jerry Slipinski, if that's how you say his name,
00:11is an upgrade at quarterback coach, believe it or not.
00:16This is tough because Gerard Johnson once coached me
00:19to improve my 40 time in 10 minutes.
00:23He cut my 40 time down by 0.2.
00:27He was at the Sports Radio 610 Combine about a decade ago.
00:32So I'm a little biased with Gerard Johnson
00:34because Gerard Johnson got me down to a 4.8.
00:37I remember as a listener that event.
00:39I remember y'all all doing that Combine event.
00:42That's hilarious.
00:42I'm glad they don't do that anymore.
00:45He did coach me down 0.2 seconds.
00:48So there's a side of me that always will be thankful to Gerard Johnson
00:52for officially making me, one, faster than Nick Wright,
00:54and two, a sub 540.
00:56On the other side of things, while I do not know what
01:00Slipinski is going to bring to the table from a
01:02now he is the quarterback coach perspective,
01:05it does make sense to have a quarterback coach
01:08who is from the offense that you're trying to run, right?
01:11Is Gerard Johnson going to be as capable of teaching this offense
01:14to Stroud as this guy is?
01:15Probably not.
01:16It's just totally different perspectives on it.
01:19So from that perspective, I think that he will be better
01:22because you are just asking this guy to better make Stroud
01:26understand an offense that I think you could argue last year
01:29he did not have a complete grasp of.
01:31Yeah, I think that's the big reason.
01:34I don't know if he's a better teacher.
01:35I don't know if he's a better coach.
01:39But I think just the continuity of, as you talked about,
01:44the offense and him knowing Kaylee
01:47and probably him and Kaylee don't even have to have conversations
01:52about certain things because he already knows, or Casario,
01:58what they expect and what they're looking for.
02:01And as you said, this is the offense they've lived in.
02:06And they're tight.
02:07Now, yeah, I don't necessarily think we get down here
02:11and we say, yeah, man, like he is a better coach than Gerard.
02:16I don't think that.
02:17But like you said, the sequence of him knowing this offense
02:22and coaching this offense, and they can all be on one accord.
02:27Yeah.
02:28It's having a teacher that teaches you a foreign language
02:31who's actually from the country that they're teaching the language of
02:35versus somebody who maybe it's their second language.
02:38Yeah.
02:38That doesn't necessarily mean that that person is even better
02:41at speaking the language, by the way.
02:43But you would trust this person to understand what they are teaching
02:46more than you would trust the other person, fair or unfair.
02:49Yeah.
02:50Yeah.
02:50So, yeah, I believe that.
02:52Believe it from that standpoint.
02:54So I'll give a believe it.
02:55All right, believe it or not, the Texans' offensive line is ranked 31st
03:00after additions.
03:01When they rated the entire offensive lines in the league,
03:05and this is the number one thing that they worked on,
03:08they were ranked 31st.
03:09Do you believe that or not?
03:11I don't.
03:11And I've seen them ranked 32nd as well.
03:14Is this the worst offensive line in the league?
03:17It's definitely not an offensive line you want.
03:19There's no denying that.
03:21But I felt...
03:21It's an offensive line they wanted.
03:24Last year, I thought they got better over the course of the season,
03:27and they seriously upgraded the offensive line this offseason
03:31as opposed to last offseason.
03:32So I don't know where this offensive line is going to be
03:35at the end of the year.
03:36Best case scenario, I'm hoping for, hey, middle of the pack,
03:40that they're 32 after this offseason.
03:44Maybe it's because we're so close to it.
03:47This is the worst.
03:50Yeah, it better not be 31st.
03:54You're definitely right about that.
03:55It better not be 31st.
03:58Listen, I have some real questions about what this team will look like
04:07in terms of when teams know they've got to throw the football.
04:14And everybody in the house knows you've got to throw the football
04:18and how this group will be able to handle that.
04:22Because I think every one of them, their strength is their physicality
04:29and their run blocking.
04:31And I think that will greatly improve over what we've seen the last couple of years.
04:36I think they will be able to run block better than they have,
04:39which has been a problem.
04:40I mean, Joe Mixon is the only person that's been able to run behind
04:46any of the offensive lines since D'Amico has been here
04:49with some level of consistency.
04:51And it was a miracle that he was doing it to begin with.
04:53No, yeah.
04:53I mean, he was that good.
04:54Yeah, he was that good.
04:55So I definitely think they will be better than –
05:01they should not have a three at the start of their ranking.
05:06I hope they don't.
05:07You're right.
05:08They will, I would think, be at the very least in the twos.
05:12At the very least in the twos.
05:13You know?
05:15But I think what's going to be really interesting,
05:18you actually have legitimate competition this offseason.
05:22And how much can you figure out just because of the lack of reps for offensive linemen
05:28who's the best?
05:30It's tough.
05:31You know, and I think the Texans are probably still going to do a lot of that rotating
05:34and mixing and matching stuff that they've done.
05:37But I feel like this offseason there's a lot more competition at specific positions,
05:41and that should breed a better unit.
05:43Yeah.
05:44Should.
05:45It's always going back to should, though.
05:46Again, I don't know this is going to be the complete –
05:50I think there are some real questions with some of these guys.
05:53Like, I wonder, is Wyatt Teller still a guy that can be –
05:58I feel good about the –
05:59I feel good about Ursary in year two, potentially, what that looks like.
06:04But I think there are some questions.
06:06Trent Brown, can he stay healthy a full season?
06:08Is Braden Smith going to have a relapse with that very strange, like, obsessive-compulsive religious –
06:14Where will Rutledge play?
06:15And will he be ready to go?
06:17That too.
06:17That too.
06:18Yeah.
06:19Religious scrupulosity.
06:20That was what he dealt with.
06:21YouTube and Twitch, we appreciate you jumping in.
06:26Gerald Harris, is that a sweater vest?
06:28Come on, Ron.
06:30Come on, brother.
06:31My bad.
06:32It's just an ugly shirt.
06:33No, it's a –
06:34It's a hoodie vest?
06:35It's not a vest.
06:37It's a jacket.
06:38It's a wind –
06:38It's like a wind vest.
06:39Oh, wait.
06:39Oh, okay.
06:40I thought you were wearing a same-colored shirt underneath –
06:42This is a jacket.
06:43It's just a jacket.
06:44Okay.
06:44Yeah, it's just a jacket.
06:45No, I –
06:46It's like a rainy day.
06:46It's like a rainy day.
06:47I thought legitimately –
06:49I thought that was a vest until just now, Dale.
06:51Have you ever thought this looks like a vest?
06:53No, I thought you were wearing like a rain jacket pullover type deal.
06:57Yeah, it's just a jacket.
06:57It's a rain jacket.
06:58It is.
06:59Yeah.
06:59And my hood, man.
07:00A little H-Town blue flavor to it.
07:02I like it.
07:02Yeah.
07:03I think it's more green, but I hear you.
07:06The thing?
07:07It's green.
07:07It's like a Seattle Seahawks type thing.
07:10Yeah.
07:10Yeah, a little bit.
07:11Yeah.
07:12Yeah.
07:13Damn, y'all.
07:14Reggie had a sick hat on earlier today.
07:17That oiler's hat?
07:18Yeah.
07:19That was filthy.
07:19That was filthy.
07:20Yeah.
07:22Yeah, oiler's, man.
07:23They don't go over that.
07:25Titans just really try to think over that.
07:26Oh, no.
07:27Now they got this logo on the side, and it's just a circle with stars in it.
07:32It does look a little bit like a Nashville bachelor red party if you look at it the right way.
07:38Yeah, they try it.
07:39They try it.
07:40They go on their self.
07:41It looks better than what they'd be rolling with, though.
07:44I agree.
07:44It looks better than the thumbtack on fire.
07:48The flying thumbtack.
07:49Yeah.
07:49Yeah, the old T.
07:51Yeah.
07:51The flying thumbtack.
07:52I like that in you.
07:52I like that in you.
07:53I like that.
