00:01Tito's, someone asked what kind of vodka did you use in your mule?
00:07Best out of the Lone Star State.
00:09Now I will tell you, you never know now.
00:13A mule for me ain't always vodka, baby.
00:17I am a whiskey mule guy through and through now.
00:20I will bang one of those out.
00:22You know, we were sitting here and I told Clint this the other day.
00:28They got me with that Belvedere commercial.
00:30I hadn't had, or I mean that Grey Goose commercial, excuse me.
00:33I hadn't had Grey Goose in a while.
00:35They got me with that.
00:36I don't think I've seen a recent Grey Goose commercial.
00:38It's with Zoe.
00:39Maybe that was part of it.
00:40Oh, I did see it.
00:41Never mind.
00:42They got me.
00:43I might try Grey Goose again.
00:45It's been a minute.
00:46I'm really, I'm, yes, yes.
00:47Why wouldn't you?
00:49Like usually, we had Tito's in the house.
00:51Usually, my vodka of choice is, what the hell is it called?
00:59Belvedere?
01:01Tark.
01:03A little rock gut?
01:05The tall, skinny one.
01:07Jesus.
01:09It's not Shvetka.
01:10Wow.
01:10I just, I mean, I am drawing a blank.
01:14I didn't play that much football.
01:16I'm blanking too.
01:17I'm not big into vodka.
01:19I mean, I've heard you talk about it, and I can't think of which one it is.
01:22A rock?
01:23Yeah, a kettle one.
01:24Jesus.
01:24Kettle one.
01:25Man, I could not fight.
01:27I was fighting that one.
01:28I'm usually a kettle one guy, but, you know, Tito's in the house.
01:31But I'm going to try this Grey Goose.
01:32Good Texas choice.
01:33Try this Grey Goose.
01:34Tito's a good Texas choice.
01:36Yeah, we had up there.
01:37I don't think you can go wrong with the kettle one, Goose, Belvedere.
01:46We can get a chance to party.
01:47I mean, I don't think you can go wrong.
01:49Probably steer clear away from Ciroc now.
01:51I think, oh, father-in-law, I think he's on that Dripping, I think there's a Dripping
01:55Springs vodka that's made in Texas, Dripping Springs.
01:57There is.
01:58I do not remember the name of it, but I know it's talked about.
02:00I think it's called Dripping Springs.
02:01Oh, it's called that.
02:02I think so.
02:03Yeah, dipping myself out of, just dipping myself out of, out of Diddy there.
02:09Yeah.
02:10Hmm.
02:11I was listening to 8-Ball and MJG.
02:13I wonder how the sales are doing on that one.
02:15I was listening to 8-Ball and MJG earlier today.
02:17I feel like they regret some of the, uh, that time when they signed with Bad Boy South
02:21and, you know, old Diddy's all over it.
02:25A lot of years and baby oil later.
02:27I sit there thinking, boy, I bet 8-Ball, damn.
02:30This is not aging.
02:31I don't know.
02:31I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm probably enjoyed a few of them parties.
02:35It probably, probably, probably was where you look back.
02:37I'm just saying right now, I'm just thinking and thinking.
02:38Was it worth it?
02:39One of them said, got, got a hundred on some.
02:44Oh, Lord.
02:45All right.
02:46Um, let me, uh, let me pose this to you.
02:49713-572-4610 YouTube and Twitch.
02:52You can jump in.
02:53There have been talking points.
02:55I would say, uh, coming out of Houston.
02:59And I think it's coming from the Texans.
03:01I think you can hear it from the national media because I think it's being pushed from
03:06that building as well.
03:07Things that people are talking about with the team.
03:12And I want you to let me know if you believe it or not.
03:15Do you believe it or not?
03:17The first one, we heard this earlier this week, Clint.
03:20Aaron Wilson had talked with Danny Barrett, the running backs coach for the Texans.
03:24And he said he believes that David Montgomery is a three down back.
03:29He can do it all is what Danny Barrett said.
03:32Do you believe it or not?
03:34I believe it.
03:35Um, I believe he's a three down back.
03:38Now, I don't believe he is a back that you, you look up and go in every facet of the
03:45running
03:45back game.
03:46He's better than any other option that you have, which I think that typically is, is the,
03:51the typically how we categorize a three down back.
03:55But, but as David Montgomery, he's definitely an upgrade to anything we've seen since Joe
03:59Mixon on first and second down downhill between the tackles vision, change of direction, all
04:05of that.
04:06He's definitely better, better than anybody we've seen, uh, not named Joe Mixon.
04:10Um, I believe he can handle third down.
04:13So, so is he a three down back?
04:15Yes, I believe that.
04:16Um, however, I think we're going to have better options in the running back in third down
04:22situation.
04:23So he'll probably be cut short.
04:24Yeah.
04:24I thought, I think what you said yesterday was, or the other day was, was good.
04:28Yeah.
04:28He's a third down back if we're still within, you know, ahead of the chain, second and five
04:36third down to yeah, he is like to me, not to say that he won't be involved in the passing
04:44game or won't be there on third and sevens in the backfield at times, but it makes no
04:49sense with Woody Marks out there that you have on your roster to not have him out there on
04:55second down and nine or third down and seven to me.
04:58Yeah, no, that, that's, that's the, that is my, my hold back.
05:02My drawback is, you know, I think you look at a guy like Joe Mixon, I'm pissed.
05:06In fact, I think we talked about it when he was here.
05:08I'm pissed when he's not on the field on third and eight, you know what I mean?
05:11He's a guy that can go line up in a two point stance in the slot and do work.
05:15I mean, uh, against a linebacker, I don't, I don't know that David Montgomery is the guy
05:21you want to plan doing some of those things.
05:23So, um, is he a three down back?
05:25Yes.
05:25I see what they're saying.
05:26I don't know that I'd go screaming it from the mountaintops.
05:28I don't know that it'd be something that I would, that I would necessarily be, be just
05:33hell bent on proving this year.
05:35I think you've got a, a, uh, a really good third down option, a really good spread two
05:42minute hurry up type option in Woody Marks and should be used accordingly.
05:46But, um, can't, you know, David, David Montgomery is, is definitely a guy that can play all three
05:52downs and is, is, can catch the ball out of the backfield.
05:55Again, I don't know that it's, it's when I hear three down back in today's game, you
05:58think again, yes.
06:02Jameer Gibbs.
06:03Yes.
06:04Even Kamara, uh, Alvin Kamara that stylistically, you know, that some of the things that he does
06:10is, is a three down back.
06:11So yeah, it's, um, that, that, some of that, that, that term is, is, is probably thrown
06:18around a little too loosely, but yeah, I'll give, I'll give them, I believe that.
06:22Yeah.
06:23All right.
06:23Do you believe it or not?
06:25Staying in that running back area, Clint, Woody Marks, he said, uh, himself earlier in
06:30the off season, Nick Kaley is doing a great job right now.
06:33Got me doing all types of routes, learning the entire route tree, just getting outside
06:38and using me as he can.
06:41So I can be productive.
06:43Do you believe that we will see him use, not just as a running back that catches, you
06:51know, flat routes or screens, but we will see him used as somebody that, that runs the
06:57route tree.
06:58Don't believe it.
06:59Don't believe it.
07:00I think, I think, I think it's an aggressive, uh, slightly out of pocket, um, you know,
07:10thought that, that Woody Marks is, is going to go from a three down back and doing everything
07:14out of the backfield and, and hell, they didn't even use him in a screen game to a guy that
07:18now is out running the route tree.
07:20Um, I, I just, I just don't, I don't, I don't buy it at all.
07:23Don't, I do not believe it one bit that Nick Kaley is going to go to the extent of, I
07:27mean,
07:27I'm still hoping that he moves, he moves Nico Collins around to get him some, some, uh,
07:31free him up and get him some easy touches.
07:33I find it hard to believe that, that Woody Marks all of a sudden is going to be this guy
07:37that you're going to put in the slot and you're going to, you're going to move around and he's
07:41going to run.
07:41I think Woody, if he is out there doing it, he's probably wasting his time.
07:44I think we, I think we may see some, you know, two way go routes.
07:49We may see some wheel routes.
07:51We may see some, maybe getting them on a linebacker and he gets downfield, but I don't like, I don't,
07:58I don't think it's just going to be a man.
08:00He's basically like a receipt, like let, I'm not saying they're in Marshall Falk used to
08:04run the route tree.
08:06Yeah.
08:06You know what I mean?
08:06He used to, and I know that's that for some reason, that's the first name that came to
08:10my head is a running back that, that you would actually see receiver kind of stuff.
08:15Well, to, to be clear, like when, when I hear that from Woody Marks, he's not outside running
08:19an 18 yard comeback.
08:20I mean, I hope not good God, he's really wasting his time if he's doing that, but, but I mean
08:24the route tree he's referring to is, is clearly the slot route tree, the option routes, learning
08:30when and how to sit down the crossing routes, the flat routes, the, the, uh, you know, the
08:35Texas routes, the, the, the whip routes, um, you know, some of that stuff may, you know,
08:40a handful of downfield stuff, um, all stuff that I think Woody Marks can do.
08:45Uh, I, I just, I just don't believe, you know, that I don't believe that that is going to
08:50be part of this offense, um, highlighting Woody Marks in that capacity.
08:55I just don't see happening in this office.
08:57So I do not believe that part.
08:58I don't either.
08:59Um, by the way, but Tyler, I slipped into some, let me watch a little David Montgomery
09:06action.
09:07Yeah.
09:07Detroit.
09:08Last year, 2025, David Montgomery.
09:11I want to watch, watch this highlight.
09:14And I think he is clearly an upgrade over Nick Chubb.
09:19I think he really, really great for this team and impact him in short yardage.
09:26And some of the stuff that we watched at the goal line inside the five, I think, I think
09:32David Montgomery is going to be a huge, huge upgrade over what they had last year.
09:39Well, boy, we have got to factor in.
09:43I'm a Swiss knife.
09:44Hey, fellas.
09:45I know I sent you a steel shot.
09:48Hey, man.
09:49The amount of times I know it's just highlights, but it was nine minutes of highlights in the
09:54amount of time that David Montgomery was able to hit the handoff and go five yards.
10:01And I'm not talking about five yards from where he took the handoff.
10:04I'm talking about five yards from the line of scrimmage without being touched with something
10:09else.
10:09I mean, it was something.
10:11I mean, we have got to take that.
10:13I'll be honest.
10:14I watched that and I watched Woody Marks's highlight tape last year.
10:18I was more impressed from Woody.
10:20The amount of times that Woody got the ball with somebody, you know, at the line of scrimmage
10:28or he's making two miss at times.
10:31I was like, I'm not saying Woody's better than him.
10:34I'm just saying when you watch, it's like, well, Woody had to negotiate some guys in the
10:39box where he had to make some guys miss immediately.
10:42I'm not going to say that that was never on David Montgomery.
10:45I'm just going to say, like, I would say 75, 80% of the time, like, he's hitting a line
10:54of scrimmage and not getting touched.
10:55Yeah, the push is ridiculous in Detroit.
10:58Like that, it's...
10:59The O-line getting that crazy push.
11:02Yeah, that's going to be the biggest thing here, Ron.
11:05We've got to factor that in.
11:06Well, that's the biggest thing.
11:07There's no doubt about it.
11:07David Montgomery is an upgrade.
11:09There's no doubt about it.
11:09David Montgomery's a really good back.
11:12David Montgomery's probably a back that in all these different rankings,
11:15probably feels a little bit slighted, and I'll be honest with you,
11:17maybe a tad bit disrespected.
11:20But the reality of it is, is he's fixing to live in a different world.
11:23Yeah.
11:24And we don't know what that's going to look like.
11:25We think he is.
11:26Now, I think the Texans have, in their minds, put together an offensive line
11:33that is physical, that strength you would think would be running the football,
11:38run blocking.
11:39I don't know if it's going to be like that.
11:41It looks anything like Detroit.
11:42I'll kiss your ass in Times Square at a city meeting.
11:47You don't have to kiss anybody's ass.
11:48I'm just telling you.
11:49That would be good, gosh.
11:51I'm just saying that you don't have to.
11:52In the first month of the season, if it looks like that,
11:55I'm betting on the Texans winning a Super Bowl.
11:58If it looks like that.
11:59No, I'm telling you, man, they were, I mean, had on.
12:03I mean, he's just running through the polls.
12:06I mean, against good teams, he's just fooled through them bad boys.
12:11How was he doing it?
12:12Boom!
12:14Man, hey, Woody Marks is taking handoffs.
12:17He's having a jump cut between Jeffrey Simmons and another linebacker.
12:23Woody Marks, he just touched leather,
12:26and the best player on the defense somehow is right in his face.
12:29Hey, man, he had a jump cut on Jeffrey Simmons.
12:32I said, damn!
12:33Yeah, yeah, yeah.
