00:00That is with the Clippers and with the Toronto Raptors here.
00:03And it looks like potentially a shady deal was going on here behind the scenes here with a $28 million
00:09endorsement with a firm that was really helping out build the arena there for, you know, the Clippers and for
00:17the owner there and for Steve Ballmer.
00:19You know, they've put that thing on hiatus right now until this aspiration investigation ends up really coming up and
00:27people finding out what really is being done behind the scenes here.
00:31J.Y., I mean, is there a potential here that the commissioner could come in, Adam Silver, and say, we're
00:37going to void the contract of Kawhi Leonard for some shady deals behind the scenes and make this guy a
00:42free agent?
00:43And he pretty much could go out and pick his own team.
00:46Is there a chance that could happen?
00:48Big Sills, always a pleasure, my brother, to come on with you.
00:51And, yeah, I mean, listen, what they basically are trying to say is that the Clippers circumvented the salary cap,
00:57meaning using the endorsement, almost like a no-show endorsement, to be able to Kawhi to go to the Clippers.
01:04You've got to remember, Kawhi was with Toronto, won the championship, and that's where it gets kind of murky here.
01:11So, to me, and it's interesting that he's doing it now, Big Sills, because if he does this now, Big
01:18Sills, everyone is signed.
01:21All the free agent money is gone.
01:23So, now, at the end of the day, you void the contract.
01:27This is not like someone getting bought out or released when they get their money.
01:31Kawhi loses his money, and then he goes into the free agency.
01:35Big Sills, all you have are vet minimums and mid-level exceptions.
01:41So, you're talking about a guy that could make $50, $60 million a year, making $2, $3, $4, $5 million.
01:48So, to me, it's really one of these situations where Adam Silver has to step up here and kind of
01:55see where they're going with what they're going to do here with this.
01:57So, it's very interesting.
02:00Steve Ballmer is, I do believe, is the richest owner in the NBA.
02:05You're talking about impacting, you know, the second biggest media market in the country, in L.A.
02:12So, now, everything's at a standstill.
02:15Toronto, a team that they get Kawhi Leonard in a trade that included Brandon Ingram, now can vault themselves into
02:21the top four, top five conversation in an Eastern Conference if they void the deal.
02:26And there's the other side of it.
02:28If they void the deal, how do you look at B.I. and say, oh, you know, we want you
02:33back.
02:33B.I. is going to go say, screw you, you just tried to trade me.
02:37So, to me, there's a lot of dominoes here that has to drop and it's going to really impact the
02:44top of the NBA.
