01:00that I had been working for almost 11 years
01:04and quit to stay at home and raise my little man.
01:07Jeremy was about two years old
01:09when he could really start articulating his words.
01:12I'd go back and I said, what are you doing, bub?
01:14And he said, playing with EY.
01:16And I said, who's EY?
01:18My friend.
01:19And I said, oh, okay.
01:22And so I had been told by many friends that had children
01:26that they have imaginary friends.
01:29I'd be like, okay, what's EY look like?
01:31He has the same color hair as Aunt Tam,
01:33which is a natural blonde.
01:34My sister's a very blonde blonde.
01:38He has eyes your color, so blue eyes, I would assume.
01:41He said, and he wears belts on his shoulders.
01:44I said, that's pretty descriptive, you know?
01:47And he's like, he's my friend.
01:50I thought it was a normal result of a only child.
01:54But Mandy was about to discover
01:56there was nothing ordinary about EY.
02:03That day, my son was at school,
02:05and I was home alone,
02:09cleaning house, doing my normal mommy chores.
02:15And I heard this just little laugh.
02:19It was plain as day.
02:37And I thought, and, you know, I'm like, did I just hear that?
02:44Ha, ha, ha.
02:49Ha, ha.
02:54And I saw, and that a door going
03:06for me?
03:09I've time to серьез up and tell people
03:10to meet the world for me about how
03:10he brings everything to the world
03:10and about quite some people.
03:10You've been here a lot of times.
03:10Because everyone has been here.
03:10Sous-titrage MFP.
03:54And right in my right ear, on this side of the bed, it would sound like a small child saying,
04:02Mommy.
04:03I was terrified.
04:06And I was just like, what's my son doing up?
04:09What's Jeremy doing up?
04:10You know, I do the whole, what are you doing awake?
04:14And he's not there.
04:18I did downplay a lot of it because I just figured that, hey, unless I have concrete evidence, unless I
04:26have it in front of me, it doesn't exist.
04:31Mandy became more worried when she started to hear adult voices, too.
04:38On several occasions, when I would be at home alone, I would hear what sounded like muffled conversations between a
04:46male and a female, almost as in an argument.
04:54And I'd hear a footstep down the hallway.
04:59Something in my son's room.
05:01He had this little toy piano.
05:03So I would hear her playing music.
05:22I felt like I was losing my mind.
05:26My husband would come home from work.
05:28I would tell him these things, and he'd just, you know, roll the eyes and be like, you know what?
05:33Your son's at school all day.
05:35You're alone.
05:36Your brain's creating these noises.
05:38I said, you're probably right.
05:53I have an old German wooden music box.
06:02And I'd hear it play.
06:04And I'd go in, and the lid would be open on my dresser.
06:12I know that that lid can't open on its own.
06:17You have to open the hinge of the music box to get it to play.
06:24Nobody was believing me.
06:26My husband just thought I was a nut job.
06:28And, you know, my son quit having experiences.
06:33He was already at the age of where nothing was really happening to him anymore.
06:37And I thought, why am I still hearing this stuff?
06:54So I was grasping at straws.
06:56I was looking for any way to get rid of it.
07:08Just lashed out one day.
07:11Show yourself!
07:14Show yourself!
07:18There stood a boy about four or five years old.
07:23Exactly what my son described.
07:33I just saw the kid that my son described as Eli.
07:43It just, I'm thinking, is this possible?
07:47Is this even possible?
07:49And I was so torn with it.
07:52I was so scared.
07:54So many questions unanswered.
07:58I need to know who this kid is.
08:01I need to know why he's here.
08:03And how did he die?
08:05Started looking up deed records for the property.
08:09The family that lived there in the 1860s and 1870s was, in fact, the Derenberger family.
08:16They had came here from Germany.
08:19They had 13 children.
08:24Notice five of the children had died on the property.
08:29From being beat.
08:33They had neck and head trauma.
08:38Started going through the children's names.
08:42Elijah Derenberger.
08:44Went by Eli Derenberger.
08:47I was floored.
08:52I had, you know, concrete evidence in front of me of what had actually happened on my property.
08:59Child spirits are more likely to stay earthbound after a traumatic death, such as a murder,
09:04because they're not really sure where they are at the time of death.
09:07And it's really difficult for them to cross over.
09:10They're not really sure of the process needed.
09:12Basically, child spirits are also still looking for their parents.
09:15They're looking for their loved ones.
09:17And when they cross over, after a traumatic death like that, they're unable to find their family.
09:21So oftentimes, they're wandering and looking for an answer or a solution on where their family is.
09:28Dealing with the spirit of little Eli had been traumatic enough for Mandy.
09:32But nothing could have prepared her for what happened next.
09:38My husband had went to work.
09:40Son was at school.
09:42And I go into the bathroom to get a shower.
09:47I go into the bathroom to get a shower.
09:52I go into the bathroom.
09:59I go into the bathroom.
10:00I go into the bathroom.
10:01I go into the bathroom.
10:02I go into the bathroom.
10:02I go into the bathroom.
10:03I go into the bathroom.
10:03I go into the bathroom.
10:04I go into the bathroom.
10:04I go into the bathroom.
10:05I go into the bathroom.
10:06I go into the bathroom.
10:06I go into the bathroom.
10:06I go into the bathroom.
10:06I go into the bathroom.
10:07I go into the bathroom.
10:08I go into the bathroom.
10:08I go into the bathroom.
10:09I go into the bathroom.
10:10I go into the bathroom.
10:18Mandy Joyce a uncovered historical documents
10:21that appeared to prove the existence
10:23of her son's imaginary friend.
10:25Show yourself!
10:31But things were about to get worse.
10:34I go into the bathroom to get a shower.
10:40Spirits knocking stuff off the bathroom.
10:43Shelves.
10:47And I just kept getting some more fear.
10:50Just, I was so scared.
10:54I kept, I was praying.
10:56I was praying to God.
10:57I was like, God, just get me through this.
11:03And there stands the silhouette of this man.
11:09He had a big, tall hat, but he was all black.
11:38And I throw my hair up in a towel.
11:41I throw on some pajama bottoms.
11:44And he drove me out of my house that day.
11:46When somebody leaves a home or abandons their house
11:49because there's a haunting going on,
11:50it's possible that the spirit kind of gains power
11:52from that situation.
11:54At least psychologically, they feel that they've won
11:56in that scenario.
11:57It's believed that the best thing to do
11:59when you have a haunting is to stay in the home,
12:01not to surrender your property and your life to the spirit,
12:04but to confront that and perform a house blessing
12:06and remove the haunting.
12:09I went to my friend's house, and I was scared.
12:13I cried all the way into town.
12:17And she said, you need to cleanse.
12:19She said, get a hold of Jackie.
12:21You need to cleanse ASAP.
12:23When I go into a place, sometimes, like,
12:25pictures pop into my head.
12:27And I just would see, like, certain things
12:28whenever I'd walk through her house.
12:34The energy just hit you.
12:36It was so heavy.
12:37And just you could tell that there was something.
12:41You always felt like something was watching you.
12:43Or if you walked around a corner,
12:44something was going to pop out at you.
12:47She told me that there was a man.
12:49You know, you could tell that that man was not nice.
12:52The father was not a good person.
12:54That was very stern and ruled with an iron fist.
13:00She smudged with smoke.
13:02We went to every room, every corner of the house.
13:06And as we moved through the house,
13:08it just got heavier and heavier, the energy.
13:12And once we moved from the upstairs to the downstairs,
13:16I could feel him there.
13:18I knew he was down there.
13:19And once we got down there, I just wanted to warn him
13:22and let him know this is what's happening.
13:25He's somewhere around here.
13:27He's not happy that he's pissed that we're doing this.
13:34I saw this black, the same black, wispy mist that I saw
13:41in this figure in my bathroom.
13:46And the whole time, I'm just saying the Lord's Prayer.
13:49I'm saying a prayer over my home.
13:52I'm saying a prayer over my son and my husband.
13:57I saw it lunge out, like as a hand.
14:08I had her help me to yell at it and tell it it's leaving now.
14:16And then, finally, it just .
14:23It's like a bubble pops.
14:24And it just lifts.
14:25Everything lifts.
14:26And it's very light.
14:28And everything is just gone and quiet.
14:31I learned that spirits are very real,
14:35that not all spirits are nice.
14:37I learned that if you think it's there, you're not crazy.
14:44It may be hard to believe, but Mandy got away lightly.
14:47At least the ghost of a murdered child in her home
14:50did not physically harm Mandy or her family.
14:53Frank Madrid cannot say the same of his experience.
15:12Because my dad was in the Navy, we ended up in National City.
15:17National City is a city that's close to San Diego.
15:22Kind of like Victorian houses, but small.
15:26And, you know, everything there, I remember, was just old.
15:30It had a good creep factor to it.
15:37One day, I was riding my bike,
15:39and I saw this little boy of this house that was on the corner.
15:44So I just rode over there and said hi to him,
15:46and we started talking.
15:47And he was kind of lonely and scared.
15:52He was very quiet, very introverted.
15:56The house that he lived in,
15:58all the doors were boarded up.
16:01It was kind of strange.
16:02We didn't really think anything of it.
16:04And then to hear the laughter of this little kid.
16:28In 1967, Frank Madrid's family had just moved to a new city.
16:32Making friends after you're moving around a lot,
16:37it's kind of hit and miss.
16:39Our father was in the Navy, and we moved around.
16:43Frank was born on the other side of the country in Virginia.
16:46I had no friends in the neighborhood.
16:49One day, I was riding my bike,
16:51and I saw this little boy of this house that was on the corner.
16:56So I just rode over there and said hi to him,
16:58and we started talking.
16:59And I thought he was a friendly kid.
17:02I thought he was kind of lonely and scared for some reason.
17:07He was very quiet, very introverted.
17:11He said our goodbyes.
17:12I went back home.
17:20And the next day, I'm riding my bike,
17:21and I see him again.
17:22So I went over and started talking to him.
17:25Our father was gone a lot,
17:28and everyone else was younger than he was.
17:31So he kind of latched on to the first friend that he could make,
17:36wanting so desperately to have somebody
17:39to socialize with, to play with.
17:42You know, I believe it got very intense very quickly.
17:46And after a while of talking to him, a few days,
17:49you know, he started lightening up,
17:50and, you know, we'd make each other laugh,
17:53and, you know, it was kind of like a normal child relationship.
17:58You know, we would play and laugh.
18:01Frank enjoyed having a new friend,
18:03even one who seemed a little strange.
18:06I never saw him pick up anything.
18:10He would just use his fingers for guns and stuff,
18:13and I had plastic ones.
18:14He never would touch those.
18:18There were some times where I'd bring some toys over
18:20so we could play,
18:21but he would never, ever grab any of them.
18:24He wouldn't play with them.
18:28He just seemed to be kind of scared.
18:30Not, you know, I think he was...
18:31It almost kind of seemed like he was afraid
18:34that his parents would find out
18:36that he was playing with me or my toys.
18:39So that's the kind of impression I got from him.
18:42But being as young as I was,
18:44I really didn't pay attention to it
18:46because I didn't want to lose my friend.
18:49You know, I didn't want to cause any kind of problems.
18:52Nevertheless,
18:53it was becoming increasingly obvious to Frank
18:55that his new friend had something to hide.
18:58You know, you get tired and work up a sweat
19:00and get hot and thirsty,
19:02and, you know, just nonchalantly,
19:04hey, can I get a drink of water?
19:07No.
19:12Why can't I have a drink of water?
19:14Well, you can't go in the house.
19:17Well, why can't I go in the house?
19:19Because my parents aren't allowing anybody in the house.
19:24I go, well, can you go get me a drink of water?
19:27No.
19:29Why not?
19:31Because I can't go in the house right now.
19:35So, you know,
19:36this is really confusing to a little kid.
19:39You know, I want a drink of water.
19:40You won't get it for me.
19:42You know, you kind of get a little upset, you know?
19:45Well, I'm going to go home,
19:46and I'm going to get my own drink of water.
19:48The argument over the glass of water
19:50had an immediate impact on the boy's friendship.
19:54Things did change after that.
19:57He was more withdrawn into himself,
20:00and he didn't really laugh anymore.
20:03We couldn't just have fun like we were having fun before.
20:07One day, went over there to play,
20:12and, you know,
20:14so the first time in a long time,
20:16he was excited because he told me,
20:19I found something.
20:20Well, what'd you find?
20:22Well, I found an ax over here.
20:25So we went over there,
20:26and he showed me where he found this old small hatchet.
20:34And I remember it being just, you know,
20:37really old and ancient and rusty
20:39and just, you know, laying there,
20:40half buried in the dirt.
20:42He told me, you know, pick it up.
20:44Let's go chop something.
20:45I said, no, I'm not going to pick it up.
20:47And he kind of got upset,
20:49and he was, you know, really forceful.
20:52He picked the thing up.
20:53Let's go over here and chop some wood.
20:56to appease his request.
20:57It's like, okay, pick it up.
21:04And followed him over to this little log
21:06that was laying there.
21:11And he's telling me to chop it.
21:12And I'm thinking, I better not, you know.
21:16Why don't you chop it?
21:17He goes, I can't.
21:20Why can't you?
21:22I just can't.
21:26So, I said, all right, I'll chop it.
21:28So, I got the ax, and...
21:53It was 1967 in National City, California,
21:56when young Frank Madrid made a new friend.
21:59But his new buddy had started acting very oddly.
22:04Why don't you chop it?
22:05He goes, I can't.
22:07Well, why can't you?
22:08I just can't.
22:13So, I said, all right, I'll chop it.
22:14So, I got the ax, and...
22:29The tip of the ax hit the dirt, and the gravel, and the wood.
22:34And I had some gravel fly up into my eye.
22:38Immediately, everything looked white, with big globs of red.
22:44I ran home screaming, because I couldn't see out of my eye anymore.
22:48The one thing that I remember that I won't ever forget was the horrible laughter that he was laughing when
22:56I was running home screaming.
23:09And that laughter followed me all the way home.
23:13When I got home, my folks took me to the hospital, and...
23:18I've had nine major operations on it, and four minor ones after that.
23:23They didn't have the technology that they do these days, so they really couldn't reattach the retina.
23:28The incident left Frank blind in his right eye for the rest of his life.
23:33Are you comfortable taking your glasses off and talking about it?
23:38Because I'm...
23:38I can't see you, but there I am.
23:44So, um...
23:46Look at this.
23:49Plastic.
23:56When I would hear about Frank's accident, it always was centered around this boy on the corner.
24:03I mean, there's just so many things that I couldn't understand at the time, because I was too young.
24:11And you think back about things that happened.
24:15The clothing that he wore, red and white striped shirt, blue jeans rolled up at the cuffs, and the black
24:22high-top tennis shoes with the white balls on the side.
24:26This kid, all the days that I've seen him, those are the same clothes he wore all the time.
24:38The house that he lived in, nobody lives there.
24:44It's abandoned.
24:47My childhood friend, this kid that nobody else could see but me, was a spirit kid.
25:05Children haven't been conditioned by their parents or society to not believe in the paranormal.
25:10Well, it's part of their reality basically.
25:12Child spirits, when they're dealing with human children, really come across as valid and legitimate.
25:18They don't seem to be a spirit, and the children are very open-minded and accepting of them.
25:23He was very open to it.
25:24He was, I mean, I don't want to use the word desperate, because it sounds negative.
25:29But in this situation, it makes sense that he was desperate to make a friend.
25:33To have some kind of companionship there, in a place where he knew nobody.
25:36I think the little boy died in that house, and I think the parents were so distraught about it that
25:46they moved away.
25:48And his energy is still there, his soul and spirit, however you want to say it.
25:52So he went to what was familiar, and what was familiar was that house.
26:00I never went back to the house, to his house to see if he was there or not.
26:05I wanted to stay away from that place.
26:07I didn't want nothing to do with him or anything.
26:10I mean, that laughter was still in my head.
26:12And there was no way that, you know, to this day, I can't forget it.
26:19Many years later, Frank had another paranormal encounter.
26:34It seemed like we had met before.
26:37I go over to talk to him, and as I'm talking to him, he starts to fade, and I can
26:47see through him, and then he just vanishes right before my eyes.
26:51Just gone.
26:53Very well could be the little boy on the corner as a man.
26:58It's possible that the child spirit aged somehow on the other side and returned to visit him to show him
27:04that, you know, here I am.
27:06I've grown up with you, and it's good to see you again type of scenario.
27:09But it's also possible that that child spirit maybe had another spirit go and visit him in an adult form
27:15because it was more socially acceptable or understandable.
27:18This gentleman was just standing there in the middle of the road there and looking directly at Frank.
27:26There was some knowledge of who he was.
27:29Since their childhood friendship was so intense that there would have been more.
27:34If the axe incident was intentional, I would expect that person to say, gotcha.
27:39And if it was unintentional, and if it was just a fluke, then I would also expect to say, I'm
27:44really sorry that that happened to you, and not just faded away as he got close.
27:50There's just too much unfinished business there.
27:52That's kind of an evil thing to do.
27:55Frank will never forget this episode of his life.
27:58His injury reminds him of his ghostly friend every day.
28:03When people tell you ghosts can't hurt you, they can cause and effect harm to you.
28:11That'll haunt me as long as I live.
28:13It's just something like that.
28:20The presence of the spirits of dead children should never be ignored.
28:24They are often the first sign that a portal to the spirit world has been opened.
28:47My husband had lost his job due to a back injury.
28:50I was diagnosed a long time ago with Crohn's disease, but I had gotten really sick, couldn't work anymore.
28:57We needed a place to stay, so we decided we'd take the house.
29:02It used to be what they called veterans' housing.
29:06We had our first son together.
29:08His name is Jordan.
29:10When we moved into the house, the first thing I remember is we couldn't get our mattress up the stairs.
29:17It was too narrow of an area.
29:19We had to sleep all on the sofa bed.
29:23I woke up to smelling like flowers, like roses.
29:31I'm a Christian, and it was always said that if you smell flowers or roses, it could be the Holy
29:38Spirit.
29:38So I tried to maybe think it was something like that, but it didn't feel refreshing because it smelled more
29:45like when you go to a funeral home like death.
29:55It reminded me of death.
30:14It was very uneasy.
30:17It was uneasy that I made the statement all the time that I don't feel like this is at home.
30:24I can't put my finger on.
30:25I just couldn't figure it out what it was about the house.
30:32The family had not been living in the house long before Dawn noticed Jordan was displaying some disturbing behavior.
30:39Jordan was playing on the stairs inside the hallway.
30:43At the bottom of the stairs was a rocking chair.
30:49Jordan got in the chair and would swing back and forth and say, baby hurt, baby hurt, baby hurt.
30:59Over and over again.
31:00And I'd say, Jordan, what do you mean by that?
31:02Baby hurt, baby hurt.
31:04And he said, the baby got hurt.
31:07He said, yeah, there's a little girl standing there at the top of the stairs.
31:15And I had no idea what he was talking about.
31:19Baby hurt, baby hurt.
31:22And I said, I don't see her.
31:25He said, look, mama, there's Allie.
31:31Allie was my neighbor's daughter that passed away.
31:36I had heard about my neighbor's daughter probably about a month after living there.
31:42She had died at four.
31:43She was only four years old.
31:45It was just some sort of weird virus and medication, but she had died in the house.
31:51Jordan did not know who she was or her name.
31:54Baby hurt, baby hurt.
31:56There was no way that he knew, but that wasn't the first time he told me things that there was
32:00no way he could possibly know.
32:07With Jordan's behavior on her mind, Dawn confided in a new friend.
32:11She had ended up telling me that she was into witchcraft.
32:15She started to say to me, well, maybe if you use tarot cards, you can get some answers.
32:20She gave me a book and she gave me the cards.
32:22And I took them home and I started playing with them.
32:29I would ask questions to the cards.
32:35I just kept wondering if, you know, he was really seeing Allie, what he was really seeing.
32:46It can be dangerous for people to use spiritual divination tools such as tarot if they don't have the knowledge
32:52or know how and how to use these items.
32:55You can open doorways.
32:57Hauntings can begin.
32:58Entities can come through and actually attach themselves to the people that are using these tools.
33:04Dawn's dabbling with the tarot cards seemed to make the situation worse.
33:07With Jordan, his room was very uncomfortable for everybody.
33:12Nobody could stay in that room.
33:16Jordan didn't want to sleep in that room.
33:21One time he told me he saw a whole family.
33:23It was a mother, a son, and a daughter with bullet wounds in their head.
33:35And then all of a sudden, all those were gone and the only one there was one he called the
33:39man.
33:59Don Pierce's family had moved into a new home and immediately started experiencing paranormal activity.
34:06Don's young son had started seeing the ghost of a child.
34:10Baby, baby, baby, baby.
34:12Then he started seeing other phantoms in his bedroom.
34:15One time he told me he saw a whole family.
34:17It was a mother, a son, and a daughter with bullet wounds in their head.
34:25And then all of a sudden, all those were gone and the only one there was one he called the
34:29man.
34:35And the man wasn't very nice.
34:37The man said some terrible things and the man told him to tell me horrific things.
34:46He says, the man told me to tell you as long as you live here, he's going to keep you
34:50sick and make sure you stay sick.
34:56My husband's like, why don't you throw a recorder in Jordan's room and see what you get?
35:02So I said, OK, that's a good idea.
35:04I put the recorder in the room.
35:05Nobody was home.
35:06And I put it on top of a Bible.
35:12And when I went and I rewinded my recorder and listened, I heard the worst.
35:18I can't even.
35:18And it still plays, it was like the most blood curdling thing I heard it say.
35:27It was just like the most evilest thing I've ever heard.
35:31Like it's engraved in my brain to this day.
35:34It was scary because I'm thinking, what did I do to open these doors?
35:42Terrified, Dawn started looking into ways of protecting her family.
35:45I just kind of learned about some prayers of protection.
35:48And one of them was Psalm 91.
35:52My son was taking a bath.
36:01And all of a sudden, it was like his eyes looked different, like he looked sinister.
36:08And he seemed to get like super strong.
36:11And it wasn't, it wasn't him.
36:13I knew it wasn't him.
36:26The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not walk.
36:29He maketh me to lie down in the green and pastures.
36:36He leadeth me to the fire.
36:51And eventually it stopped.
36:53It might have been just one or two minutes, but it seemed like the longest one or two minutes.
36:58And when it broke, he started crying.
37:00And he said, Mommy, Mommy, that wasn't me.
37:01That wasn't me.
37:07When you're trying to protect your child, you do anything to protect them.
37:11But when you can't see or physically feel what's attacking them, you feel hopeless and helpless.
37:19At this point, Dawn was desperate to get help for her son.
37:23And at that time, that's when I met Joe.
37:26She was telling us that she believed that her home was haunted and that her son was seeing things.
37:32And he was talking to spirits.
37:35Dawn had mentioned a couple of different smells in the house.
37:39Just before a spirit may show up, you will smell a flower of some sort.
37:45And it's usually roses and lilacs.
37:48Jordan believed that a little spirit, a little female, was speaking to him.
37:53A child could relate to a child's spirit.
37:56The spirit of the girl that had passed away was trying to come through.
38:02And the only way she could get anybody's attention was to go at somebody that was more on her mentality.
38:08I'm more on her wavelength, which would be another child.
38:12As the unraveling started, I started asking a bunch of questions.
38:16Then certain things were like, okay, tarot cards.
38:21She had dabbled into a few things, and then everything was starting to get put back into perspective.
38:27If somebody is playing with tarot cards, they're divination tools.
38:31Those are tools to communicate with those that have passed.
38:35A lot of times, people just play with cards.
38:38Every so often, somebody makes a connection, and the door does open.
38:45We have this thing in the paranormal that if something comes back, sometimes it can come back two, three times
38:51worse than it was originally.
38:58It sounded like that's what happened.
39:04The game plan was to go find something.
39:07If something was there, we would try to pull it out.
39:10If not, we'd like to get some sort of evidence, just something to go on to show us that there
39:15is something supernatural happening in the home.
39:19We spent about, I'd say, a good four or five hours of investigating.
39:23The very last sequence was in the basement.
39:33We set up cameras, we set up our video equipment, we took lots of pictures.
39:45I didn't have a good feeling going into the basement.
39:47I kind of felt, it's almost like when you have the hair on the back of your neck stand up.
39:53It was one of those things.
39:54And I'm like, you know what?
39:55Let's go down here and let's check this out.
40:00Initially, I don't like to hit people with prayer right off the bat.
40:03I don't want to come off as anybody that's too religious or trying to make something out of nothing.
40:09But I felt compelled to pray into the house, into the basement.
40:14And that's what we did.
40:22And when Joe had called me about two days later and said, I got something to play for you.
40:28You're going to, you know, it's going to knock your socks off, basically.
40:36And the very end of the tape, just before it ran out, I heard us saying the prayer.
40:41Now a house of Christ, thank you, that you are no longer welcome here, evil spirit.
40:48And you know you must obey our commands.
41:11Don Pierce's life changed when her son Jordan began seeing the ghost of a child in their home.
41:15And I'm sorry, yes, I'll run it over.
41:16You sure need it.
41:19After unsuccessfully trying to get rid of the spirit herself, Don called in professional paranormal investigator, Joe Citrone.
41:54Oh, that sound like a mule being kicked.
41:57And you know you must obey our commands.
42:00It was just the most god-awful, loud scream like an animal was being tortured.
42:09And you know you must obey our commands.
42:11It is definitely an inhuman sound that came over that recorder.
42:16But I felt relieved because it validated what we've been going through.
42:23There is something supernatural happening in the home.
42:30Not long after Joe had investigated the home, the Pierce family were spending a normal evening together.
42:35I'm going to get you.
42:42My husband, me, and Jordan were in my bedroom.
42:45My husband was on the computer.
42:47I was laying on the bed with Jordan, and I was reading through the Bible, and I started to read
42:51it out loud to him.
43:03And he started thrashing around on the bed and hitting me and, you know, yelling obscenities.
43:23And I yelled, Mark, Mark, come over here, help me.
43:27He came over, and he was restraining Jordan, and he said to me, just keep reading, just keep going.
43:37And he was very strong, and then all of a sudden, he just stopped.
43:46Cried, and again, you know, explaining that was not him.
43:56And I didn't know what to do with Jordan at that point.
43:58I was just sitting there frustrated.
44:03And that must be hard for you.
44:06You know, were you blaming your son?
44:09I was blaming myself.
44:13What did I do to open these doors?
44:24I felt like my curiosity maybe opened it, but I knew that there was something there from when we moved
44:31in.
44:34Things just weren't going to get any better, and we had had enough.
44:45We spent four years in the house, so there was a lot of different things that happened.
44:50He was young at the time, and I thought maybe he would forget, but he still hasn't forgotten.
45:04It was my first child, and I just, I still blame myself because he has problems with PTSD,
45:19and you can't tell a psychiatrist.
45:21He wants to tell somebody why he's the way he is, and instead, he has to deal with medication.
45:30He'll be 13, but now he's been backed out and won't sleep, but on the couch, he doesn't want to
45:36sleep in his own room.
45:37After what he's experienced, he wants to go back in my room.
45:41He can't sleep without the lights on.
45:46He can still hear things.
45:48He can't see them.
45:51He's become a little bit more closed off, but he's very paranoid.
45:57Very anxious.
46:01A lot of anxiety.
46:06I thank God that we did move.
46:09I didn't want to keep living there and live to be tortured every day.
