00:23I had a very myopic black and white view of the world.
00:26Now I'm talking to dead people.
00:30I buried this for nearly 30 years.

00:54Okay.
00:57Before we purchased our house in Bloomingdale, I was living in a small condo with my husband.
01:04And it was very small and it was far away from both of our jobs.
01:08So we wanted to find a house that was closer to our jobs.
01:14The first impression I got was that it was very eerie.
01:18They had bushes that were overgrown in the front.
01:21The house needed a lot of work.
01:22I saw crumbling masonry work in the front and the back.
01:26The roof was old.
01:28The siding was old.
01:30We walked into the inside.
01:32And it was just the eeriest house I think I've ever seen.
01:35But I liked it.
01:37We did close on the house in December 1997.
01:42And I couldn't wait to get started on it because the inside was so dreary.
01:48Just being in that house, there was just something different.
01:51I couldn't put my finger on it yet.
01:55Of course, there was a lot of noises, banging, dragging.
02:00I just chalked it up.
02:02It's an old house.
02:03There are going to be noises.
02:07I'm very skeptical with saying this noise doesn't make sense.
02:15Very shortly after we moved in, I just started getting a very strange feeling that something wasn't right.
02:30Every night I would go to sleep, and I would have this nightmare.
02:42I was in the house alone, and I had a very horrible feeling about it.
02:53I'd be at the top of the stairwell, and I knew something very ominous was at the bottom.
03:09And I would look at a shelf, and something would fly you off.
03:29And I would see a shadow at the bottom of the stairs.
03:32It would start to move up, and I'd hear breathing.
03:46You just felt as if you were going to be killed, attacked, something.
04:04And then that's when I would always wake up.
04:07And it turned out I had that nightmare every night for months.
04:13I had told my husband, I don't even want to go to sleep, because I know I'm going to have
04:18that dream.
04:20Patty had always been skeptical of the paranormal, but events in the house were beginning to convince her otherwise.
04:27I went down to do laundry, and we have a big, the biggest container of laundry detergent.
04:34And I did the laundry, put it back on the shelf.
04:38The detergent went back up in the kitchen, and when it was done,
04:44the laundry detergent wasn't on the shelf.
04:52I looked, and it was sitting 10 feet out into the basement, upright.
05:01I just tried to ignore it, picked it up, did the second load, put it back on the shelf.
05:08When I came down a third time, it was right back out in the basement again.
05:19That's probably the first time when I thought, it's almost like a mischievous child playing tricks on me.
05:27There was something about that house, and I had even said to my husband one day,
05:30you're going to think I'm crazy.
05:32I think this house is a lie.
05:33There's something about this house.
05:36I don't know what it is, but there is.
05:38He just was of the opinion, if you ignore it, it will go away.
05:44He believed my dreams were caused from anxiety, moving into a new house.
05:49He just didn't buy into it and kind of turned a blind eye.
05:55I find that skeptics will gravitate to rationality before anything else.
06:01In their mind, they have convinced themselves that it can't be anything other than something rational.
06:06So they will take it that, oh, it must have been this,
06:09or they'll find any reason they can to prove that it's not paranormal.
06:15A few days later, I'm cleaning the house.
06:19We have French doors on our upper level going to the deck.
06:27And I see little handprints on the bottom of the window.
06:33And I told my husband about it.
06:35He goes, oh, you know, just forget about it.
06:38A couple days later, I saw them on again.
06:40My husband was home.
06:42I said, come here, I want you to tell me what you see.
06:45He looked, and he goes, it looks like a child's handprint.
06:58One of the situations that scared me the most,
07:02and I knew I had to find out and get to the bottom of it,
07:04again, happened in my room.
07:15And I think it was all wrong.
07:17So I have to go.
07:24Oh.
07:26Oh.
07:28Oh.
07:42Patti Haig started having terrifying dreams as soon as she moved into her new home.
07:47But the nightmares were turning into reality.
08:08I dreamt of the child that I thought was in the house, and he bit me in the arm.
08:14And I woke up.
08:14I said, wow, that dream really hurt.
08:18And when I was in the shower the next day, there was, I was bitten.
08:23Now, I couldn't fit that in my mouth to put that bite mark.
08:26And it was a small mouth.
08:29So that dream was a dream, but it wasn't a dream.
08:33I can't explain that.
08:35It became more than a dream when old friends Roseanne and Joe came over to the house for a visit.
08:41She was with a gentleman, and he was a big, burly, six-foot-three contractor.
08:48Roseanne had mentioned the apparition, and Joe started making fun of it.
08:55I had asked him not to do that, and he continued to do that.
09:00The next thing we knew, and I saw it and Roseanne saw it.
09:09His stool was yanked out from under him.
09:13He landed on the ground.
09:15So, of course, we're like, Joe, are you okay?
09:17He got up and started crying.
09:24Started crying like a baby, and he said, Roseanne, we got to go.
09:26We got to go.
09:28Roseanne called me later and said, Joe said, there's something evil in that house.
09:33When I fell on the floor, something whispered in my ear.
09:37You are going to die tonight.
09:41You are going to die tonight.
09:43He goes, I'm never going back in that house again.
09:46And he never did.
09:50I just didn't know what to think.
09:51It can't be just my home.
09:53There's too much is happening.
09:54There's something, something happened around here, and I don't know what it was.
09:57I met my neighbor.
09:59She was walking her dog.
10:01I said, can I ask you a question?
10:03She goes, what?
10:04What?
10:05I said, do you have anything strange going on in your house that you can't explain?
10:11And she goes, what do you mean?
10:12I go, here we go.
10:13She's going to have me committed.
10:15And I just looked at her.
10:17I said, ghosts.
10:18Her jaw dropped.
10:20She goes, I can't believe you said that.
10:23She goes, ever since I moved in,
10:26and she goes, things have been going on in the house that I can't explain.
10:30It turns out many people in that area were having experiences.
10:34But my house, everybody seemed to point to my house and said, but that's where it really
10:41gets very strange.
10:43I had to get to the bottom of this, how to find out.
10:46And I didn't even know really paranormal groups existed.
10:50When I Googled hauntings in Bloomingdale, I saw Mark's website.
10:57I first heard from Patty back in February of 2008.
11:01And she was looking for us to come in and perform a professional scientific investigation.
11:11Now, during this time, we were doing audio recording, trying to capture EVP, which stands
11:18for electronic voice phenomenon.
11:21Also during the investigation, we had a video camera with night vision set up in the master
11:27bedroom, pointed at her dresser where she felt like she had seen things before.
11:33Patty was sitting on the bed nearby with one of our other investigators.
11:37And really, I was talking, but, you know, no one was getting anything.
11:40But I looked at the dresser and I saw a white, almost like a mist or a shadow in front
11:47of
11:47the dresser.
11:48Look over there.
11:54So the cameraman, the investigator, panned the camera around from the dresser to see if
11:59he could capture anything.
12:00When he panned the camera to the left...
12:22Evidence of the paranormal was becoming harder to ignore at Patty Haig's house.
12:27Now, a guest had been threatened.
12:29You are going to die tonight.
12:33Wanting answers, Patty had called in a paranormal investigation team.
12:37So the cameraman, the investigator, panned the camera around from the dresser to see if
12:43he could capture anything, when he panned the camera to the left, all of a sudden, he captured
12:53what looked like a head with no features.
12:57You cannot see a face or anything, but it looked like a head with a hairline.
13:06And it had very dark hair, very dark hair.
13:09And you can't see features of the face.
13:11It's bizarre.
13:12It's just a, you see the hair and it's sticking in.
13:21And then after a second, it seems to realize it's being filmed and it slides right out of
13:29the frame.
13:32Almost as if this child realized and drew back.
13:37So we were unable to explain that anomaly.
13:41We went back to the house.
13:43We recreated the conditions.
13:45We looked for reflections.
13:47We looked for anything that would have caused that anomaly and we could not recreate it.
13:58Now that we have technology and the things that we use to show the existence of life after
14:05death, the power of a skeptic has diminished.
14:09Their case is getting weaker and weaker.
14:11After the first investigation, Mark realized this is enough to pique interest in a second investigation.
14:17We felt that it was the land that had the activity more than Patty's house alone.
14:24So we made arrangements to bring in a ground penetrating radar team to scan that area to
14:31see what they could find.
14:32And the results were very interesting because the radar operator said he found five areas
14:39of interest.
14:40And looking at the imagery, you can see the white spots that they found, that it was in
14:46his opinion, that they could have been human burials still underground.
14:54It was our impression that this could have been a Native American site with circles, possibly
15:00a medicine wheel or other types of ceremonial circle used in their religion.
15:05If it's possible that if it was used for ceremonial purposes with the spirits, that might
15:11account for some of the activity that we were encountering in the area.
15:20Once Mark and his team came in and did their investigations, activity did pick up in the house significantly,
15:31where it almost appeared that now it was taking more of a malicious turn for me.
16:02You just felt like you were going to be attacked.
16:04You felt like you were going to be murdered.
16:09I was pushed down my oak stairwell.
16:16I didn't lose my footing.
16:18All of a sudden I was airborne and I made a 90 degree turn and I landed in the hallway.
16:32And I knew if I didn't leave that house, I wasn't going to survive in that house.
16:39It would have been a disaster for me to stay in that home.
16:42So when my husband got a new job down south, that was probably the happiest news I had in years.
16:50I didn't care if we had to live in a tent somewhere.
16:52I honestly didn't.
16:53I would have been happy living in a tent to get out of that house.
16:58The last day of the house, I stood outside the door, closed it, locked for the last time, and got
17:06in my car.
17:07I felt a lightness that I haven't felt in years.
17:12I felt like a new person, a happy person.
17:17The house had finally convinced Patty that another plane existed, and it was too much for her to live with.
17:23It was that location.
17:24It stayed at that location.
17:26And now I'm living in a place that is completely free of any kind of paranormal activity.
17:33And I would never go back.
17:36Ever.
17:44Skeptics of the paranormal often demand scientific proof before they will believe in the afterlife.
17:50But an intimate first-hand experience can lead to a dramatic change of mind.
18:20So we lived in Toronto for about four years.
18:22We had a, it was a beautiful luxury condo on the lake, and everyone thought we had the best life
18:27going.
18:28But we were just, we were really unhappy, and looking back, we were unfulfilled.
18:31Well, condo life for me was a little bit difficult because we wanted to be closer to nature.
18:36We wanted to have more of a, just a real connection with, you know, the earth around us.
18:42And we weren't really feeling that where we were living.
18:47We went on the hunt for a house.
18:50And so I said to Jennifer, I said, let's go out to this place called Brantford, which I hadn't even
18:54heard of before.
18:56As we were getting closer and closer to the house, we were getting more skeptical because it was kind of
19:01like a subdivision that we were driving through.
19:05And we pulled up to this little house on the hill.
19:07We both instantly fell in love with it, and everyone thought we were crazy.
19:10It was a very stark contrast to what we were living in in Toronto.
19:17And when we got here, we knocked on the door.
19:25And this older gentleman came to the door.
19:27He was well, and it was 90s.
19:29And actually, it was the owner.
19:31The agent hadn't arrived yet.
19:33He said, oh, come on in, come on in.
19:37He was 94, and he wanted to interview everybody who was interested in purchasing the property.
19:48He really wanted the property to stay intact.
19:51And he said, what are your plans with the house?
19:54And I said, well, Jack, I think it needs a paint job, to be honest.
19:57So I think I might paint it if you don't mind.
19:59And he said, no, it's fine.
20:02Jack's wife died when he was in his 70s, I believe.
20:06And he believed that he would probably die soon after.
20:10He didn't expect to be here as long as he was here for.
20:15Jack took a liking to Jan and Daryl and sold them the house.
20:18We moved in September 30th of 2011.
20:22What we thought was a paint job turned into a complete gut job.
20:25It was during the renovation that Jan and Daryl began to notice strange things.
20:31Paintbrushes will go missing.
20:33Keys will go missing.
20:34I had a book that went missing.
20:36If we lived in a really big house, I think it would be easier to kind of,
20:40but our house is very small, so how far can something travel?
20:44When their complicated renovation was in full swing,
20:47what was supposed to be the easy job became the most baffling.
20:51And there was one particular paint color that Daryl would put on,
20:54and the paint would not stick.
20:55It just wouldn't stick.
20:59And it would fall off, and it would clump off, and it would drip off.
21:02We thought, what the heck?
21:02So we took it back to the paint company.
21:04The paint company said, the paint's fine.
21:05I don't know what your problem is.
21:12So Daryl thought, well, maybe he just thought, you know,
21:14something came in his head.
21:15Let's try a different color.
21:16It got the same paint and a different color, put it on,
21:18and it went on perfectly.
21:19So we joke about the fact that Jack's wife was like,
21:21I'm not having that color paint in my house.
21:24Although happy to joke about it,
21:25the couple were skeptical that anything otherworldly
21:28was actually happening in their home.
21:30A lot of times when a family moves into a house,
21:34they'll do renovations, they'll fix things,
21:36they'll change things.
21:38A spirit that has been there for many years,
21:41they're used to a certain thing,
21:42and they're used to a certain way that their house was.
21:45If you go there and try to create things and do things,
21:47they take offense to that.
21:49Like, hey, you know what?
21:50I was here many years before you,
21:52and you're not going to change this.
21:53And if you are, I'm going to make it difficult
21:55for you to do so.
21:56Daryl had never believed in anything paranormal.
21:59I've always been a skeptic.
22:01I guess I would need to see evidence of that
22:02to believe that.
22:03During all the construction and all the chaos,
22:06Charlie, my little dog,
22:07he and I were the first two to move into the house.
22:17There are times where he'll just, for example,
22:19he'll be in the living room,
22:20and he'll look out into the kitchen,
22:21and he'll just stare and stare and stare and stare,
22:24and you're thinking...
22:29You're not staring at food.
22:30You're not staring at water.
22:31You're just kind of staring into the room,
22:33and you're thinking, why are you doing that?
22:41You can tell he's looking,
22:43like he's watching something.
22:45And you kind of put your head around,
22:47you can see something too, you know,
22:49but I don't see anything.
22:57He must see something,
22:59because I don't think he would stand
23:01and just stare for so long at nothing.
23:09So that's kind of strange, yeah.
23:13But it was Jen's experiences
23:14that would truly turn a skeptic into a believer.
23:19It's a smell like baking.
23:20Like, I'd wake up, and I, you know,
23:21Daryl doesn't cook or bake.
23:23I sort of smell the air, and I'm like,
23:24oh, someone's been baking, like vanilla.
23:26You know that very distinct smell of vanilla?
23:28And sometimes a very distinct smell of, like, apple pie.
23:30I was like, oh, it smells so good.
23:34And there would be nothing there.
23:36There was nothing that could have made that smell.
23:39You just sort of shake your head and go, okay, you know,
23:41and I was still adjusting to living to the country.
23:45I heard the covers, and again,
23:46at first I thought it was mice or, you know, whatever,
23:48because the house was being renovated.
24:09Daryl and Jen White fell in love
24:11with their little house on the hill,
24:13but after promising the previous owner
24:15they wouldn't renovate,
24:16they decided to do just that.

24:34And there she was, standing facing the stove.
24:42You know, a 3D woman at the counter
24:45sort of humming to herself, preparing something.
24:55And when I sort of squinted
24:56and looked a little bit closer
24:57I could see that she was sort of filmy, smoky,
24:59sort of that, you know, iconic
25:00what a ghost would look like kind of thing,
25:02but she was there.
25:02I mean, I knew the hair color,
25:04she had these beautiful green eyes,
25:06I could see the figures.
25:15Oh, I saw a ghost!
25:20Everybody has a different reaction
25:22to seeing the spirit when they first see them.
25:25Obviously, the first thing you do is,
25:27you're scared.
25:28I don't necessarily think it's something
25:30that you have to fear,
25:31but I think you have to
25:34essentially take note
25:35as to why it keeps appearing to you.
25:38So maybe do a little research.
25:40Maybe find a little bit about that property.
25:42Did anybody die in that house?
25:44Is there any relatives
25:45that look remotely close to what you're seeing?
25:48And then kind of just do your own investigations.
25:51I wanted to authenticate my experiences
25:53and make sure that it wasn't,
25:54you know, all in my head.
25:56I just knew when I said,
25:58I saw this woman in my house
25:59that I thought, oh my God,
26:00they think I'm going to go crazy
26:01or are they going to go,
26:02oh my God, these crazy like city people
26:04have had, you know, too much country air.
26:06And when I reached out to the neighbors,
26:07they said, oh yeah,
26:08I think I've got a ghost in the house
26:09and I described her.
26:09Oh, that's Jack's wife.
26:11And they said, you described her a tea?
26:12And then someone took out the photo album
26:14and I'm like, okay.
26:18That was Jack's wife.
26:19That was the woman.
26:21I recognized her,
26:21like that's what she looked like.
26:25Kind of the Jack's wife,
26:26quite tragically,
26:28had a stroke or an aneurysm one night.
26:31Jack was watching hockey about 25 years ago
26:33and she said, I wasn't feeling well.
26:35She got up to go lie down
26:36and she dropped dead
26:37between here and the back bedroom.
26:41Apparently she was a prolific baker.
26:45So that was a really big watershed moment for me
26:48that, yeah, I'm living with something.
26:50My life was about to change.
26:52As soon as I sort of admitted it,
26:54then it started to get like exponentially
26:56more frequent and powerful.
26:59The cupboard doors would slam
27:00and I would be in bed
27:01and I'd be like,
27:01Darryl, like knock it off.
27:03And he'd be like,
27:03I'm not anywhere near them.
27:17And she turned around and looked at me
27:19and kind of smiled at me
27:20and then vanished.
27:24Okay, this is real.
27:26This is happening.
27:29The neighbor, Janet,
27:30had let me know Jack had passed.
27:33And then it was about two days later
27:35when the kids had called
27:36and said we would be okay with him
27:38being scattered out back.
27:47So they came back here
27:48and scattered his ashes
27:50back in the woods
27:50where he was most happy.
27:57With Jack's death,
27:59a new wave of paranormal events started.
28:02When we'd moved in,
28:03they'd cleaned pretty much everything out.
28:04But there was this one chair
28:06that was down in the basement.
28:07The neighbors had said to me,
28:08oh, that was Jack's chair.
28:09It was this wooden chair
28:10that he always sat on outside
28:12and watched the world go by.
28:13And so I thought,
28:14well, it's ugly.
28:15So I tossed it in the garage
28:16and thought,
28:16okay, next garbage day,
28:17I'll get rid of it.
28:17And it would reappear in the house.
28:19Like we would find it in the basement
28:20or it would go back
28:21to where he used to sit.
28:23And I'd say to Darryl,
28:24why is that chair out
28:25in the middle of the backyard?
28:26He's like, I don't put it there.
28:29Jen found that once she opened her mind
28:31to the paranormal,
28:33her experiences became more powerful.
28:36I went for a walk
28:37and I took the dog
28:37and the dog started barking his head off.
28:49Barking, barking, barking
28:50and then he started staring up the hill
28:52and I thought.
28:53So I turned my head
28:54and I looked up the hill.
29:05And there standing there,
29:06I'll never forget it
29:06because I can still see his eyes,
29:07was Jack.
29:11Just standing there content
29:12in this like lumberjack clad jacket
29:15that apparently, you know,
29:16was very sort of common
29:17and typical for him.
29:23He was there sort of
29:24in this fuzzy kind of foggy state,
29:27but very 3D,
29:28very much alive,
29:29very much, you know,
29:30identifiable as Jack.
29:31It wasn't a shadow
29:32or a passing image.
29:34It was Jack standing there.
29:36So I said to him,
29:37I said, hey Jack,
29:37you know,
29:38I'm so glad that all is good
29:39and I promised you
29:40we're taking great care
29:41of the house.
29:48And then he vanished
29:49and we continued on
29:50with our walk.
29:52So it was a really interesting
29:54and unique experience.
29:55A paranormal encounter
29:57changes many lives every day
29:59and a lot of it has to do
30:00with the acceptance of knowing
30:03that something is there
30:05that is not supposed to be.
30:09So I was that typical
30:10like Anglo-Saxon,
30:12Protestant,
30:13conservative person
30:14who had a great job.
30:15I had a very myopic
30:16black and white view
30:17of the world.
30:18Now I'm talking to dead people.
30:21All of a sudden,
30:22I accept and respect
30:23that there's a whole lot out there
30:24that we don't understand.
30:26Once you know
30:26that there is life after death,
30:28you may treat your life
30:29a lot differently.
30:30You may live it differently.
30:31You may not take it for granted
30:32to know that
30:33in a split second in time,
30:36you could be in that
30:37same altered state.
30:38There's good advantages
30:39that come out
30:40of a paranormal encounter
30:42and a lot of it is
30:43to appreciate life
30:44as you know it
30:45while you're alive.
30:46Since Jack's passed,
30:47I haven't seen her,
30:48which is really interesting.
30:50So when Jack passed,
30:51I have not seen her since.
30:52I haven't smelt her,
30:52I haven't seen her,
30:53I have nothing.
30:53And I think because
30:54she died so suddenly
30:56and Jack stayed here
30:56for so long
30:57that I'm convinced
30:58that she was here
30:58the whole time Jack was.
31:00A relationship
31:01between a husband and wife
31:03that maybe the marriage
31:05lasted 30 years.
31:06you don't want to be away
31:08from your partner.
31:09So there are spirits
31:10who will hang around
31:11and wait for that
31:12and them two can
31:15live a life together
31:16in the afterlife.
31:17We still call Jack's house
31:19and Jack's property.
31:20We've been here four years.
31:21I don't know if we'll ever
31:22stop calling Jack's house.
31:26As a skeptic dealing
31:27with the paranormal,
31:28there comes a point
31:29where rational explanations
31:31just won't cut it.
31:32When the paranormal
31:33becomes a physical threat,
31:35there is no choice
31:36but to believe.
31:45Story 26, Greg,
31:47take one, marker.
32:04I've never had
32:05any encounters before.
32:07Never really thought
32:08about it before.
32:10It's just something
32:11that I always just thought
32:14wasn't real.
32:15Just fake hocus pocus stuff.
32:18I met Greg
32:19through MySpace.
32:21She thought
32:22that I was cute
32:23so we started talking.
32:25I have three children,
32:27Grant, Dylan, and Emily.
32:28They fell in love
32:29with Greg
32:30and so did I.
32:32In December of 08,
32:34Greg opened his home
32:36to us.
32:37It was kind of
32:39a rundown building
32:40but it was cheap rent
32:42and it served its purpose.
32:45Her and her daughter,
32:46Emily,
32:46came up on the bus
32:48started unpacking stuff
32:49and she was like,
32:50oh, you know,
32:51I can rearrange your house now
32:53and, you know,
32:54make it the way I want to.
32:55I didn't have a lot of stuff.
32:56I was used to
32:57the military life,
32:58you know,
32:59being in the military,
33:00you minimize everything
33:02and with Danielle,
33:04it was just, you know,
33:05it brightened it up
33:06a little bit more.
33:07You know,
33:07there's more colors,
33:09more flowery stuff,
33:12you know,
33:13just a woman's touch
33:14and it made it a lot better.
33:19But this good feeling
33:20would not last long.
33:24It was just
33:24the little things
33:25at first.
33:33We'd want to go out
33:34to dinner
33:34or something like that
33:35and be like,
33:36okay, you know,
33:37time to grab the keys.
33:41Walk over,
33:42went to grab for them
33:43and they're not there.
33:47That's like,
33:47okay, you know,
33:48who's got the keys
33:48and nobody's got the keys.
33:50You search
33:51and you search
33:52and you search.
33:58You know,
33:58the keys are nowhere
33:59to be found.
34:02Go almost back
34:03into the first location
34:04where I first looked for them.
34:09There are the keys
34:10and it's like,
34:11no way.
34:11There's no way
34:12those keys could be there.
34:14Couldn't explain it.
34:15Spirits will move things
34:18if they know
34:20that it bothers you
34:22and intimidates you.
34:23Sometimes they'll play games.
34:25They'll take the smaller objects
34:27because it takes less energy
34:28to move those things.
34:30And sometimes
34:31they can be sending a message.
34:32It's hard to really tell
34:33with them
34:34because there are a lot of them
34:35that are tricksters.
34:37One time,
34:38we were sitting down
34:40and having cookies and milk.

34:49He likes to play with me.
34:51And I said,
34:51well, that's nice, honey.

34:54cookies and milk
34:55with Michael?
34:56She goes, yeah.
35:01And then all of a sudden
35:03you just see the glass
35:04move like six inches.
35:09Six inches
35:11to an empty space.
35:13This empty space
35:15beside Amway.
35:18What do you say
35:19when that happens?
35:20You know,
35:20there's no good reason
35:23for something like that
35:24to happen,
35:24especially when
35:25she just got done saying,
35:27you know,
35:27go ahead,
35:27you can share
35:28your cookies and milk
35:29with them.
35:30It wouldn't take long
35:31before the paranormal
35:32became more real.
35:35Actually,
35:35a couple of days later,
35:36I had another
35:37experience myself.
35:53and all of a sudden
35:55something grabbed
35:56the back of my leg.
36:15Greg and Danielle Koch
36:16had begun to experience
36:17strange phenomena
36:18in their home,
36:20but were reluctant
36:20to believe
36:21they could have
36:22paranormal origins.
36:23The activity was about
36:25to get more extreme.
36:27and all of a sudden
36:28something grabbed
36:29the back of my leg
36:32and yanked me.
36:41I've never felt
36:42this before.
36:43It felt like they were
36:44trying to pull me
36:44off the bed.
37:01my whole world
37:02just got rocked.
37:03I turned around,
37:04looked back
37:05and there was nothing
37:05there.
37:06And I looked at my leg
37:08where I got grabbed at
37:09and I could see the hairs
37:12kind of like standing
37:13back up
37:14off of like
37:15if they were like,
37:15you know,
37:16condensed from where
37:17somebody grabbed me.
37:18I felt like a grown man
37:19trying to jerk me
37:21off the bed.
37:25I've never had
37:27anything so physical
37:28happen to me
37:29like that before.
37:31That's something
37:32I'll never forget.
37:34Greg started to rethink
37:36their decision
37:37to raise children
37:38in the house.
37:39because if it can
37:40move me that much,
37:42you know,
37:43what else can I do?
37:44Finally,
37:44we were like,
37:45okay,
37:45you know,
37:46something's going
37:46on here.
37:47We had contacted
37:48the landlord
37:48and explained to her
37:49that we couldn't
37:50stay there anymore.
37:52And she was
37:53pretty understanding.
37:54She was like,
37:54I could understand,
37:57you know,
37:57this isn't the first time
37:59we've had people
37:59move out
38:00in the middle of the month
38:01as quickly as you
38:02want to move out.
38:03It felt like
38:05the relief
38:05was off of my shoulders
38:08to be moving away
38:09from that place.
38:13We made the move
38:15to Tideon.
38:15The house was
38:17like three times
38:18as big as the place
38:19we were in,
38:20so we were loving it.
38:21It was a really nice house,
38:23two-floor,
38:24big yard,
38:25you know,
38:25so we were really
38:26happy with it.
38:27And it was only
38:28two blocks down
38:29from the school
38:30where Emily
38:30would be going to.
38:31We moved in July,
38:33beautiful weather.
38:34The neighbors
38:35were real nice.
38:36They came out
38:37and helped me
38:37move the stuff in.
38:38I really did think
38:39everything was left behind.
38:42And we started
38:43having the experiences
38:44at the house
38:45that we're at now.
38:49I started hearing
38:50like walking
38:51across the ceiling
38:52and it's like,
38:53okay,
38:53we know nobody's
38:54up there.
38:57You know,
38:57we'd hear footsteps
38:59again,
38:59so I'd run up there
39:00and...
39:14there's nobody there.
39:15I'd go back
39:16downstairs again.
39:28You know,
39:29you could hear them
39:30walking down the stairs,
39:31you know,
39:32thump, thump, thump,
39:33thump, thump,
39:33just sounds like
39:34a heavy guy
39:35walking back and forth.
39:37And I'd run up there
39:38again, you know,
39:39just to make sure.
39:49There's nobody out there.
39:52It is a very creepy feeling.
39:55Maybe a house settling,
39:57you're hearing a creaking,
39:58but maybe a spirit
39:59where you're dealing
40:00with sounds,
40:01it's gonna be more profound.
40:03Spirits will violently
40:04walk and the whole house
40:05would shake.
40:06That's when you start
40:07to think, okay,
40:08that's much more
40:09than just a house settling.
40:14We'd come back
40:14and, you know,
40:15from out to dinner
40:16or something like that
40:17and it just seemed like
40:21every cupboard
40:22in the whole place
40:23was wide open.
40:33Nothing was really disturbed
40:34in the house
40:35besides, like,
40:37the cupboard doors.
40:38Like, there was no cans
40:39out of place.
40:40There was no, you know,
40:41anything missing.
40:42Like, somebody would have
40:43ransacked the place.
40:44It was just,
40:45every cupboard was open.
40:48Well, I was like,
40:48here we go again, you know.
40:50I was like,
40:51the last place was quiet
40:52and now we got something
40:54going on here.
40:55And then, you know,
40:56Danielle was like,
40:57I really hope something's not,
40:58you know, kind of following me.
41:01I knew something was following us
41:03then.
41:03It just seemed like, you know,
41:05from one location
41:06to another location,
41:07there is definitely
41:08something out there.
41:12I was in the bedroom.
41:14That's where I had my computer hooked up.
41:17I was playing a video game online
41:18and she was out in the kitchen.
41:20All of a sudden,
41:21she calls me out there
41:23and her voice
41:24kind of sounded funny.
41:31I was like,
41:33okay, you know,
41:33what's going on now?
41:34And she's standing
41:36in the middle of the kitchen.
41:42And she's got this, like,
41:44kind of a blank look
41:45on her face.
41:53And she's got a knife
41:55and she's got a knife in her hand.

42:20had already moved once
42:21because of paranormal phenomena.
42:25Despite starting out
42:26as skeptics,
42:27the couple now believed
42:28in the dark side
42:29as the events
42:30became life-threatening.
42:32And she's got a knife
42:34in her hand.
42:38She's got it up,
42:39you know,
42:40kind of held
42:40like a stabbing motion.
42:45And she's just standing there
42:46and I'm talking to her.
42:47I'm like,
42:48Danielle,
42:49Danielle,
42:50you know,
42:50I'm trying to get her
42:51to, you know,
42:52acknowledge me,
42:53to answer me,
42:54you know,
42:54to at least turn her face
42:55and look at me
42:56like she was staring off
42:58a million miles away.
43:04You know,
43:04that knife really made me nervous.
43:11And so I was like,
43:12look,
43:13you don't put that knife down.
43:15I'm going to tackle you
43:15down to the ground
43:16and take it from you.
43:21She finally looked like
43:22she snapped out of it.
43:23She was like,
43:24you know,
43:24what's going on?
43:25And I was like,
43:26I was like,
43:26I don't know,
43:27you tell me.
43:28I was like,
43:28you've been standing there
43:29for about five,
43:29six minutes now
43:30with the freaking knife
43:31in your hand.
43:32I was like,
43:32I was starting to yell at you
43:33and you weren't paying
43:34attention to me.
43:35You know,
43:35you weren't acknowledging me.
43:36And she was like,
43:37I didn't hear you at all.
43:39All I remember is
43:41it felt like a demonic force
43:43and I was fighting with it.
43:45I was definitely scared
43:46because if it could do it there,
43:48you know,
43:49what if it's going to do it again
43:50where I wasn't around
43:51or if I was sleeping?
43:53So,
43:55we both knew something,
43:56something serious
43:57was going on.
43:59Unexpectedly,
44:00Greg and Danielle
44:01found help close to home.
44:03You know,
44:03we were kind of hesitant
44:04to say anything
44:05to the neighbors
44:06and then they actually
44:08brought it up
44:08that they were
44:11part of a paranormal society.
44:13And I was like,
44:14you're kidding me.
44:15I was like,
44:16you know,
44:16what are the odds
44:17that you guys
44:18are going to be living
44:19right next door to us?
44:21And then,
44:22you know,
44:22we told him
44:22what was going on
44:23and we told him
44:24some of the experiences
44:24that we had
44:25and he definitely felt
44:26that there was
44:27a dark presence
44:28in the house
44:30that he was
44:31definitely worried
44:32about Danielle.
44:33Greg invited his neighbors
44:35into his home
44:36to perform
44:36a cleansing ritual.
44:38You know,
44:39I would see them
44:39going around
44:40and, you know,
44:41she does spells
44:43and stuff like that
44:44to try to,
44:44you know,
44:45encourage more
44:46good spirits
44:47and, you know,
44:48good feelings
44:49and stuff like that
44:50and ward off,
44:51you know,
44:51the more negative feelings.
44:53With the house cleansed,
44:55the neighbors gave
44:56Danielle an amulet
44:57to ward off evil spirits
44:59and taught her
45:00how to perform
45:00the ritual herself.
45:03Danielle seemed like
45:04she needed more
45:04of the protection.
45:05and it seems like
45:07they're more,
45:08you know,
45:10gravitating towards her
45:11and not me.
45:12And that's been
45:13protecting me.
45:15So,
45:16that's how I survive.
45:18A lot of these things
45:19that we use,
45:20we use as symbols.
45:21An artifact
45:22is not going to
45:23drive a spirit away
45:24as much as
45:25what's behind
45:26that artifact,
45:28what faith is being
45:29put into that artifact.
45:30Essentially,
45:31you yourself
45:32is the one
45:33that's exercising
45:33the spirit
45:34out of a home.
45:36And,
45:36to be honest,
45:37it seems like
45:38it's working.
45:40There's a lot less
45:41negativity in the house.
45:42We're kind of,
45:44you know,
45:45happy with living there
45:46as long as,
45:47you know,
45:48we feel we're
45:48kind of safe.
45:50You know,
45:50we're definitely felt like,
45:52you know,
45:53we're surviving there.
45:54Greg is a skeptic
45:56turned believer.
45:58Before Danielle moved in,
46:00you know,
46:00there was,
46:01there was no such
46:02thing as ghosts.
46:03But,
46:04you know,
46:05five,
46:05six years later,
46:06and,
46:07you know,
46:07I believe 100%,
46:09you know,
46:09there is no doubt
46:11the spirit's out there.
