00:41interesting because the feeling was well if he only has three teams that he'd rather go to
00:45that must mean the red wings are in fourth place for the teams that he'd want to play for
00:49that was that was some of the some of the some of the emotion riding on that totally false now

00:57so determined to get out of dodge that he's adding teams to his list and i maintain gator that that
01:04was always the red wings fault that if you know that he has the stipulation in a couple of years
01:10where he's got to have 10 teams that he gives them but it's not his fault that that stipulation wasn't
01:16there prior to now so now the report is that he is extending his list of teams extending his list

01:25teams that he would consider moving on to and to be honest i might be one of the few guys

01:33city that has no ill will that is not acting like a scorned lover here that understands completely and
01:41totally why dylan larkin is doing what he what he's doing you know we've got a situation with jay
01:46where he doesn't like the money dylan larkin has the money wants to win we've we've lost we've lost
01:55touch with are there any athletes anymore that prioritize winning above and beyond everything
02:00else dylan larkin's one of those so this is uh from ansar khan uh from a couple hours ago it

02:07dylan larkin has expanded his list of teams he will waive his no trade clause to join but it's not

02:13and it's probably not going to get him any closer to being dealt by steve eiserman larkin recently added
02:18the dallas stars to his original list that includes only florida minnesota and vegas uh the red wings
02:25had talks with the stars and according to league sources asked for young center wyatt johnston in
02:30return doesn't hurt to ask but there was no chance of that happening johnston is seven years younger than
02:36larkin coming off a 45 goal 86 point season and hasn't missed a game in four nhl seasons incidentally
02:41the stars selected johnston 23rd and 21 in draft after trading down from 15 with the red wings who
02:47took sebastian kosa um so interesting uh there that the the list of teams is expanded to is dallas that's
02:57that's the team now dallas is is trying to figure out whether or not they're going to hang on to

03:02robertson who's a restricted free agent and after seeing other players get signed to offer sheets
03:07there is a concern there uh if you're dallas you probably either yes either you sign him or you
03:14trade him before you lose him to an offer sheet then you get compensation but it's it's it would
03:19be four first round picks as compensation and if i were the red wings i'd give up four first round
03:24picks in a heartbeat to sign uh jason robertson but robertson is going to cost you money he's going
03:29to cost you somewhere in the neighborhood of 14 million dollars and maybe more now that
03:33we've seen leo carlson get his um offer sheet at 18 million a season um to lead all nhl players
03:43a lot of moving parts here and yet are they really moving because you know the red wings haven't been
03:48able to come up with a deal yet but i think dallas immediately goes to the top of the list

03:53dallas has they've got some things right they got some pieces and if you're somehow able to work
03:57a sign and trade with jason robertson and then it allows the red wings to sign him to an extension
04:02that makes it worthwhile that's a win now i'm guessing the red wings have to give up a little
04:08bit more in return if it's just player for player okay there's no question jason robertson's the
04:14better player offensively puts up more points scores more goals however larkin's value is as a
04:21two-way player probably a little bit more so than what what robertson is and robertson is nowhere
04:27near defensively as gifted as larkin is and larkin puts up his fair share of points a point a game

04:31of guy however it's it's something special with robertson he's had a hundred point season in his
04:37career he's had multiple 40 goal seasons in his career larkin hasn't scored more than i don't know
04:41what it is 36 goals in a year um he hasn't hit 40 yet but the value of dylan larkin
04:47is within his
04:48contract he has signed for five more years at under nine million dollars a season which is incredible as
04:55the cap hit not only that the team that would take on dylan larkin that's the cap hit the actual
05:02money is considerably less because the contract was front loaded for dylan so now you don't have
05:08i think you have roughly 35 million dollars left on the deal or something like that 35 to 38 million
05:14something like that it's it's less than what his cap hit is because the deal was front loaded so it
05:18makes
05:19it even more valuable because you're getting a player in this day and age right now where contracts
05:24are going crazy quinn hughes is rumored to get an 18 million dollar a year extension with minnesota
05:29right you've got players signing contract extensions all over the place dylan larkin is an absolute
05:35bargain at under nine which is another reason why this but this situation really bothers me that he asked to
05:43get out because now that teams are opening up the pocketbooks more because the uh the cap has expanded
05:53it's just screams this is a golden opportunity for this team to really add and and right now they
05:58still have a lot of money under the cap even after they've added arvid arvidson and and the goaltender
06:03and uh and then kolasar as well they still have a lot of money and larkin's part of these already
06:09accounted for so like the red wings could still make some big move a big trade where they give up

06:14bunch of draft capital future draft capital to get a star if they wanted to and it would have dylan
06:19larkin but larkin asked for the trade and now he's poisoned okay so a couple jumping off points
06:24here robertson where's he from do you know i'm sorry say it again robertson where's he from he's
06:28spent time in michigan for years yeah northville michigan is from here so that immediately gives
06:35you the ding ding ding number two well what what was eisenman's big problem with the offers that were
06:40made you're getting young guys you're getting minor leaguers futures you're getting futures and he
06:46needs to win now everyone knows that he's got to get over this playoff bugaboo immediately this trade
06:53more than anything else achieves that my personal philosophy gator is if i'm trading a dylan larkin
06:59i'm getting the best player in the deal now you know as well as i do all the offers made
07:04that option wasn't available no because minnesota's not offering boldly and other teams aren't offering
07:11the players that they want uh if it's dallas dallas doesn't want to give up white johnson you can
07:16understand why teams wouldn't want to do that they want to add dylan larkin to the mix not subtract but
07:20by doing something get them closer to getting over the hump but jason robertson if in fact he is
07:27available that becomes the no-brainer move that that you make in my opinion for larkin far beyond any of
07:34these other futures assessments the problem is jason robertson i believe also has this no movement
07:40clause and there are mixed reports but reports early on where he he wanted nothing to do with
07:46the detroit red wings despite him spending lots of time in northville and claiming it at home but
07:51seems to be a common theme people not wanting having anything to do with the red wings i mean maybe
07:55maybe
07:55not but this is what it seems right now and you know it's it's losing does that to you you
08:03know and
08:03when you've lost for 10 years it's tough and you know some people want to be part of a rebuild

08:09some people don't and you know what does this say about steve eisman what does it say about the red
08:14wings organization right now i mean they have their their captain literally asked for a trade and i don't
08:20know if players are happy about that or players are pissed about it because the other strange thing is
