A road rage incident in Bengaluru's Indiranagar has come under the spotlight after a video showing the co-passenger of a Mercedes-Benz allegedly slapping and pushing a biker during an argument went viral on social media.

The incident took place on July 2 at a traffic signal on 12th Main Road in Indiranagar.

According to police, the altercation began when the biker attempted to squeeze through a narrow gap between a Maruti Dzire and the Mercedes-Benz, leading to a heated argument with the luxury car's co-passenger.

The viral video allegedly shows the co-passenger abusing, threatening, slapping and pushing the biker during the confrontation. Passersby reportedly intervened, preventing the situation from escalating further.

Police said they are awaiting a formal complaint from the biker before registering a case and initiating legal action.

The incident has triggered concern over rising cases of road rage in Bengaluru, with many on social media demanding strict action against those involved and stronger measures to curb violence and intimidation on public roads.
