Panic gripped Kodad in Telangana's Suryapet district after a gas cylinder exploded outside Ranga Theatre on Sunday, July 5. A video of the incident, widely shared on social media, shows the cylinder exploding at a tea stall outside the theatre, sending people running for safety.

According to locals, the blast is suspected to have originated from an LPG refill shop near the theatre. However, the exact cause of the explosion is yet to be confirmed.

No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of the explosion.

In a similar incident on June 30, a loud explosion caused by a suspected gas leak severely damaged an apartment in Hyderabad's Saroornagar. The blast occurred at the residence of Devender, a retired bank employee living in Babunagar under the Saroornagar Police Station limits.

Saroornagar Inspector N. Srisailam had said the explosion occurred at around 10:30 am in the kitchen and that a gas leak was suspected. He added that no formal complaint had been filed regarding the incident.
