'Accident Hotspot': Residents Demand Speed Breakers at Dangerous Banashankari Junction

A road junction in Bengaluru's Banashankari 3rd Stage has reportedly become an accident hotspot, with multiple crashes being reported near the Ganesha Temple on Kathriguppe Water Tank Park Road, close to 2nd Cross Road.

Residents have attributed the recurring accidents to overspeeding vehicles and the absence of speed breakers and other traffic-calming measures.

According to locals, the junction poses a serious risk to pedestrians, commuters, senior citizens and children, with the lack of adequate road safety infrastructure making the stretch increasingly unsafe.

Residents have urged the concerned authorities to conduct an immediate inspection and install speed breakers, warning signboards and other traffic-calming measures to reduce vehicle speeds and prevent further accidents.

They have called for urgent intervention, warning that any delay could lead to more accidents and put the lives of road users at risk.
