00:10O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing your praise.
00:17O God, make speed to save us. O Lord, make haste to help us.
00:26Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning,
00:32is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
00:39Let us praise the Lord. The Lord's name be praised.
00:49I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
00:59I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages.
01:09God from God, light from light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the
01:19Father.
01:20Through him all things were made.
01:23For us men, and for our salvation, he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit, was incarnate of
01:31the Virgin Mary, and became man.
01:35For our sake, he was crucified under Pontius Pilate.
01:39He suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
01:46He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
01:52He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
01:59I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father,
02:06who with the Father and the Son, is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
02:14I believe in one holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
02:18I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins,
02:23and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
02:30Amen.
02:33The Lord be with you, and also with you.
02:39Let us pray.
02:42Lord, have mercy upon us.
02:45Christ, have mercy upon us.
02:48Lord, have mercy upon us.
02:53Our Father in heaven, holy is your name.
02:58Your kingdom come.
03:00Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
03:05Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,
03:11as we forgive those who trespass against us.
03:16Do not allow us to fall into temptation, but deliver us from every evil.
03:23Amen.
03:27O Lord, have mercy upon us, and grant us your salvation.
03:35Bless your ministers with righteousness, and make your chosen people joyful.
03:44O Lord, save your people, and bless your inheritance.
03:51Give peace in our time, O Lord,
03:54because there is none other that fights for it, but only you, O God.
04:01O God, make clean our hearts within us.
04:06Do not take your Holy Spirit from us.
04:25I am a laughingstock to my friends.
04:40I, who called on God, and whom he answered,
04:43a righteous and blameless man, is a laughingstock.
04:48For calamity there is derision, according to the ideas of the fortunate,
04:53a fate for those whose feet slip.
04:57But the tents of the robbers are peaceful,
04:59and those who provoke God are confident,
05:02who carry their God in their hands.
05:06But now, ask the animals, and they will teach you,
05:09or the birds of the sky, and they will tell you.
05:12Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you.
05:14Or let the fish of the sea declare to you.
05:18Which of all these does not know
05:20that the hand of the Lord has done this,
05:24in whose hand is the life of every creature,
05:26and the breadth of all the human race?
05:31Does the ear not test words,
05:33as the tongue tastes food?
05:36Is wisdom found amongst the ages?
05:40Does not long life bring understanding?
05:45With God our wisdom and power,
05:48counsel and understanding are his.
05:51If he tears down, it cannot be rebuilt.
05:54If he imprisons a person, there is no escape.
05:57If he holds back the waters, then they dry up.
06:01If he releases them, they destroy the land.
06:06With him are strength and prudence.
06:09Both the one who goes astray,
06:11and the one who misleads, are his.
06:16He leads counsellors away stripped,
06:18and makes judges into fools.
06:21He loosens the bonds of kings,
06:23and binds a loincloth around their waist.
06:28He leads priests away stripped,
06:30and overthrows the potentates.
06:33He deprives the trusted advisors of speech,
06:36and takes away the discernment of elders.
06:40He pours contempt on navelmen,
06:42and disarms the powerful.
06:45He reveals the deep things of darkness,
06:48and brings deep shadows into the light.
06:51He makes nations great,
06:54and destroys them.
06:55He extends the boundaries of nations,
06:58and disperses them.
07:01He deprives the leaders of the earth
07:03of their understanding.
07:04He makes them wander in a trackless desert waste.
07:09They grove about in darkness without light.
07:13He makes them stagger like drunkards.
07:17This is the word of the Lord.
07:19Thanks be to God.
07:26The earth is the lost,
07:30and all that therein is,
07:34the compass of the world
07:37and faith as well therein.
07:40For he unfathed it upon the streets,
07:46and prepared it upon the clouds.
07:51Who shall ascend into the hill of the road?
07:56Oh, who shall rise up in his holy place?
08:02Even he that has free hands and a pure heart,
08:09And that hath not lift up his mind and to vanity,
08:14No swore to deceive his neighbor.
08:19He shall receive a blessing from the Lord,
08:25And righteousness from the God of his salvation.
08:30This is the generation of them that's seeking,
08:37Even of them that seek thy faithful Jacob.
08:43He is God for help so he pays,
08:47And he is God he ever-dosting does,
08:52And the King of glory shall come in.
08:58Who is the King of glory?
09:02He is the most,
09:04God and mighty,
09:07He is the Lord's mighty in battle.
09:12In the Lord's holy gates,
09:16And he is God the everlasting cause,
09:21And the King of glory shall come in.
09:27Who is the King of glory?
09:31Even the Lord of hosts,
09:35He is the King of glory.
09:38Glory be to the Father,
09:44Glory be to the Father,
09:44And to the Son,
09:46And to the Holy Ghost,
09:51As it was in the beginning,
09:55His love and heaven shall be,
10:00World without it.
10:05Amen.
10:13The Lord is my shepherd,
10:19Therefore have I lack nothing,
10:23He shall feed me in a green pasture,
10:31And lead me forth inside the waters of comfort.
10:39He shall convert my soul,
10:43And bring me forth in a part of righteousness,
10:48For his name is the King of glory.
10:53Yea,
10:55Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
11:00I will feel the King of glory,
11:05For Thou art with me,
11:08Thy God and Thy star comfort me.
11:13Thou shalt take care of the people before me,
11:19And in this day that is strong,
11:23Thou hast anoint in my head with all,
11:28And my cup shall be full.
11:33Just my darling kindness and glad,
11:36You shall follow me over the days of my life,
11:42And I will dwell in the hearts of the Lord forever.
11:51Glory be to the Father,
11:55And to the Son,
11:58And to the Holy Ghost,
12:02As it was in the beginning,
12:05Is now and ever shall we,
12:11World without end.

22:30The Acts of the Apostles.
22:32Chapter 12.
22:34About that time King Herod laid hands on some from the church to harm them.
22:40He had James the brother of John executed with a sword.
22:44And when he saw that this pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter too.
22:50But this took place during the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
22:54When he had seized him, he put him in prison, handing him over to four squads of soldiers to guard
23:00him.
23:02Herod planned to bring him out for a public trial after the Passover.
23:09So Peter was kept in prison, but those in the church were earnestly praying to God for him.
23:16On that very night before Herod was going to bring him out for trial, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers,
23:23bound with chains, while guards in front of the door were keeping watch over the prison.
23:31Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared, and a light shone in the prison cell.
23:37He struck Peter on the side and woke him saying, Get up quickly.
23:42The chains fell off Peter's wrists.
23:45The angel said to him, Fasten your belt and put on your sandals.
23:51Peter did so.
23:53Then the angel said to him, Put on your cloak and follow me.
23:58Peter went out and followed him.
24:00He did not realize that what was happening through the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision.
24:09After they had passed the first and the second guards, they came to the iron gate leading into the city.
24:17It opened for them by itself, and they went outside and walked down a narrow street, whereupon the angel left
24:26him.
24:27When Peter came to himself, he said, Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent his angel and
24:34rescued me from the hand of Herod and from everything the Jewish people were expecting to happen.
24:43When Peter realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John Mark, where many people had
24:49gathered together and were praying.
24:53When he knocked at the door of the outer gate, a slave girl named Rhoda answered.
25:00She recognized Peter's voice and was so overjoyed.
25:04She did not open the gate, but ran in and told them that Peter was standing at the gate.
25:10But they said to her, You've lost your mind.
25:13But she kept insisting that it was Peter, and they kept saying, It's his angel.
25:21Now Peter continued knocking, and when they eventually opened the door and saw him, they were greatly astonished.
25:28He motioned to them with his hand to be quiet, and then related how the Lord had brought him out
25:34of the prison.
25:36He said, Tell James and the brothers these things.
25:40And he left and went to another place.
25:45At daybreak there was great consternation amongst the soldiers over what had become of Peter.
25:52When Herod had searched for him and did not find him, he questioned the guards and commanded they be taken
25:57away and executed.
26:00Then Herod went down from Judea to Caesarea and stayed there.
26:07Now Herod was having an angry quarrel with the people of Tyre and Sidon, and so they joined together and
26:14presented themselves before him.
26:17After convincing Blasdus, the king's personal assistant, to help them, they asked for peace, because their country's food supply was
26:25provided by the king's country.
26:30On the day determined in advance, Herod put on his royal robes and sat in the judgment seat and made
26:36a speech to them.
26:39But the crowd began to shout, The voice of a God and not of a man.
26:47Immediately an angel of the Lord struck Herod dead, because he did not give the glory to God, and he
26:54was eaten by worms and died.
26:57But the word of God kept on increasing and multiplying.
27:02Barnabas and Saul returned to Jerusalem, when they had completed their mission, bringing along with them John Mark.
27:12This is the word of the Lord.
27:15Thanks be to God.
27:22Collect for peace.
27:24O God, who is the author of peace and lover of concord, in knowledge of whom stands our eternal life,
27:33whose service is perfect freedom.
27:36Defend us, your humble servants, in all assaults of our enemies, that we, surely trusting in your defence, may not
27:45fear the power of any adversaries.
27:48Through the might of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
27:52Amen.
27:56Collect for our safe preservation.
28:00O Lord, our heavenly Father, almighty and everlasting God, who has safely brought us to the beginning of this day.
28:08Defend us in the same with your mighty power, and grant that this day we fall into no sin, neither
28:16run into any kind of danger.
28:18But that all our doings may be ordered by your governance, to do always that which is righteous in your
28:28sight.
28:29Through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
28:32Amen.
28:35Lord, let me accept calmly all that this day might bring me, and let me devote myself completely to your
28:45sacred will.
28:46Direct me and help me each hour of this day.
28:51Control my thoughts and feelings in all my deeds and words.
28:56When unpredictable circumstances arise, do not let me forget that everything comes from you.
29:04Lord Jesus, Son of God, it is better not to live than to live without you.
29:11I thank you, God, for the gift of this new day, and for all the good deeds you will help
29:17me do today.
29:21Holy Spirit, help me to dedicate this day to my Lord and Saviour.
29:26Teach me to be just toward my brother and sister, never to provoke wrath or cause sorrow.
29:35Control my will and teach me to pray, to believe, to hope, to suffer, to forgive and to love.
29:45Amen.
29:49We pray for the work of your faithful servants throughout the world, Lord.
29:56Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
30:02May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be
30:10with us all today and for evermore.
30:13Amen.
