00:08The Media Centre allows you to upload images for use across the booking engine.
00:13For room images, voucher images and rate images, four versions of the same image are required.

00:28Within the Media Centre, you can quickly search for an existing image or gallery using the search bar at the
00:34top of the Media Centre homepage.
00:38You can edit the name of an existing gallery which is owned by your property by clicking on the edit
00:43button.
00:45You can upload an image to an existing gallery by clicking add image.
00:49And you can edit an existing image by hovering over the specific image and clicking on the edit button.
00:59On the right hand side of the Media Centre home screen, you will see four options to upload an image
01:05to a specific category,
01:06depending on where you want the image to show in the booking engine.
01:10Or you can create a new folder and upload your image within.
01:16For the purposes of this training video, we will create a new folder and give this folder a name.
01:29You will now see the new folder at the top of the Media Centre home screen, where you can select
01:34Add image.
01:38You are then brought to the upload screen.
01:45If you had clicked on any of these individual categories, you would also have been brought directly to the upload
01:51screen.
01:54On the left hand side of the upload screen, you can provide the basic information required, such as an image
02:01name, for example, executive double room.
02:06An alt tag, which is an HTML attribute applied to images to provide a text alternative for search engines by
02:14describing the appearance and function of an image on a page.
02:17Applying images to alt tags can positively impact SEO.
02:22So let's say, for example, executive double room in Limerick with balcony.
02:28If you leave alt tag blank, the name text will be used.

03:11We recommend you select room, offer and voucher when uploading and or creating new galleries or folders.
03:20If you need to upload an image to be used within edit site profile as the primary image for the
03:26property on any group or portal sites, you will need to select the property tag.
03:32You can drag images from your desktop to the designated area in the upload screen.
03:38Or you can click on the designated area and browse images which are saved within your computer files.
03:45If you have image content copied to your clipboard, you can paste directly from the clipboard to the upload screen
03:53using control and V.
03:57You can upload one image at a time and only the most recent image will be displayed.
04:03An image uploaded in one of the recommended sizes will be automatically scaled down to all relevant image sizes as
04:11you will see here.
04:21If you have selected the incorrect image, you can simply remove the image using the remove button.
04:35On the other hand, if I upload an image to this gallery using an image that is not in one
04:41of the recommended sizes, a crop option will appear to allow the image to be resized.
04:56To activate the crop option, select the crop button.
05:05Once you are happy with the area of image which will be cropped, you can select the crop image button.
05:14After an image is cropped, it is automatically scaled to all relevant image sizes and the original image is removed.
05:24You will see the dimensions turn green for the dimensions which have been correctly sized.
05:31You can then click save changes.
05:35It is important to note that if you do not have the larger image size in your folder, the image
05:42will not work for use against rooms or rates.
05:45It is recommended to upload images at 1600 by 1200 or larger and the media centre will then resize the
05:53image to the smaller size.
05:55It is not possible to resize up to a larger size.
