00:00Room groups. Today we are going to look at setting up room groups in Avio which
00:07will allow this room type drop-down menu to appear within the booking path. In the
00:14current example we can see that there are various filters which will allow a
00:19shopper to segregate the return based on their own preference. Room types can be
00:27set up an Avio under room setup and list room groups. Within the setup you can
00:35create parent navigation options with sub navigation menus which will appear
00:41with your parent as same and your sub options underneath. Let's have a look
00:48before we get stuck into it at some live examples. In this case on the demo site we
00:55have set up a room group for room types. This is quite effective for hotels that
00:59potentially have a mix of standard hotel rooms and self-catering. Also you can
01:05see there's a drop-down for bed type. In this particular example we can see we
01:13also have the room type filter, the bed type filter but now they have also added
01:19a filter for view type. If I'm a guest looking to stay in a room that has a
01:25balcony by selecting this option and hitting confirm it'll allow me to easily
01:30see all of the room types applicable to the search. In this example there is no
01:39room filter set up at the property so you can see here as we were saying you have
01:45your view type, your room type, your offers and promo. In this example the room type
01:50filter is not appearing. It does not appear if room groups have not been set
01:55up. In this example instead of having parent options they just have two options
02:01to separate out the hotel rooms and the self-catering elements. And another
02:07customer example that we can look at segregates out by the class of room type.
02:12Again there is no need to use a parent drop-down in this example. Let's have a
02:19look at the setup. To set up room groups as mentioned you're under room setup and
02:25list room groups. Once you hit create room group it opens up the option to set a
02:32new menu. Let's set up a new group for the views as we saw in one of the other
02:40property examples. So we can just create a code for this. We'll call it view. This
02:46code is not going to be mapped anywhere and it's only for our own reference in
02:49the Abio system. We're going to set rooms as the parent view so we don't need to
02:56add it to one of the other parents already set up which are room or bed. And
03:01again just to reiterate this is the example we're looking at for all room types
03:05as a parent and all bed types as a parent. We want this to be a parent also so we're
03:11not going to assign another parent. And we are going to call this all view types.
03:23Then we'll add in every room type to allow it to pull in all view types first. So this is
03:30the parent.
03:30You can see here it drops in as a parent because no other parent was created for
03:35us. And for the purposes of this example we just set up one of the drop down views.
03:42Let's set this up as C view. And let's pick two of the rooms potentially that have a C view
03:54and add
03:56them to appear on selection of the C view. Now because this is to fall under view type we need
04:03to add it to view being the parent. When we hit save changes you can see because we selected view
04:13as the parent it falls in as a child menu option under view type. Now if we refresh the front
04:21end of the
04:21system we will see our new menu all view types appearing here and then our C view rooms. If we
04:32were to just click one of the options it would return all C view rooms to us. As a shopper
04:42you can select
04:43multiple configurations within the three views. So for instance if we want to see all room types
04:52that have a double bed and a C view we can create that mix by clicking confirm.
05:00Obviously if a shopper is going to get quite granular we do run the risk if we create a lot
05:06of filters
05:07of returning a no availability message if we have got quite complicated with our search.
05:15If potentially we don't want the view type to appear first we can hit reorder room groups and this will
05:23allow us to drag and drop. So we can say our order is going to go by the in this
05:30case view type coming
05:32down to the very end we can drop this down here and then C view falling in after that. Now
05:40we hit save changes
05:43and go back to the front end and refresh
05:50we will see that our view types have now moved down to the bottom. It's very easy to change the
05:57order in
05:57which these appear. Just to point out also if you do create room types you have the option if you're
06:05linking
06:06directly into the index page to segregate out by room type in the advanced search here also.
06:17The other benefit of creating room groups is that you can deep link directly in to any of the room
06:24types that you have created. So for instance if we have a page on our website for C view rooms
06:31if you click
06:32the web link after the C view room group it only returns those particular rooms and you can copy the
06:40URL. If we have a C view rooms page on our website with a book now link we can deep
06:47link directly in here.
06:53So it is quite effective in that manner. Just to refresh with room groups you can either create
07:02parent and sub room groups in the menu option or like the alternate example we saw here you can have
07:09no room groups or you can just have room groups that have no parents and will list in this manner.
