00:04do we're going to start off we're going to try and clone a page so there's a couple of different
00:10ways you can do this so when you're logged into your site you can click copy a new draft I'm
00:15on
00:15the home page right now so this will create a new page an exact copy of the home page if
00:20I open in
00:22a new tab and go back to the dashboard it will open my pages you can see home pages here
00:27I can
00:27click clone or new draft they both do the exact same thing so there's two areas you can you can
00:33do that there so what I'm going to do I'm just going to click new draft and that's going to
00:37make
00:37a copy of the home page here I could also do the exact same thing on the front end as
00:42I here in
00:42the admin bar I could get a copy to a new draft so we're going to click up here and
00:47we're going to go
00:48new draft here and you can see the the wheel is spinning there it's creating our new page so you
00:56can see straight away it brings us into the back end of our new page and you can see it's
01:03it's still
01:03got the same name it's got home and the permalink here so that's the URL you can see it's got
01:09home
01:09but this time it's got dash 2 on the end of it so when you create your new page what
01:12you want to do
01:13you want to give it it's it's brand new name so CMS training 2020 we're going to change the URL
01:24all right
01:27so we're going to go meaning 20 20 we're going to click OK so now we've created that page there
01:39so what
01:40we could do we could actually just click publish or we can save it as a draft if you if
01:44you still
01:44want to work on the page you can just click save as a draft so I'll just save it as
01:48a draft there and
01:51up here at the very top I can view page by right-clicking and opening in a new tab so
01:58this this page is a
01:59draft right now so nobody outside of the nobody without logins can look at this page right now and
02:06it's the exact same as the home page because we just made a copy of it there so what you
02:10could
02:10do then you can go back to your edit page you can make all the changes you want down along
02:15the page
02:16you can change the the hero slider so I might just do that quickly we'll click the pen tool there
02:21we're
02:22going to hit the red X with the green plus and we're going to pick an image from the back
02:28end here
02:30from lock ray we might scroll down a little bit we'll go with that spy image there we'll hit the
02:38X on
02:39that one out and we'll hit the plus as well and we'll choose the same image now again so it
02:44should
02:44be looks like that's the same one there and we'll just hit save save changes so I've just made a
02:51quick
02:51change to that page there so if right now it's a draft so if I I can hit publish here
02:59to publish it
03:01but if say I've gone away for the day and I come back to it now I can see I
03:06go I go to my pages here
03:16a struggle I have it's Monica in Charleville and is so I you went in there now and
03:21you updated a picture but I can't I don't know the headings and versus what's on the page do you
03:28know what I mean if you're looking at the page like you're talking about hero image and sliders
03:32and all those I suppose I can't correlate them to the page itself okay yeah so so something that
03:42might help you there is if you have the actual page open in the next tab as well and like
03:47the first thing
03:48I see here is the big image so like the first thing in the page builder here is hero image
03:55slider so
03:56that's what that is so hero image slider video slider item is this big image here okay if I scroll
04:05down
04:05now along you can see you've got welcome to lock ray hotel spa and it's got text on the right
04:09-hand side
04:10if we go to the edit page we'll scroll down along it two column content is here so that's what
04:16that I
04:16know it's a bit tricky um the you have to kind of go back and forth between the two tabs
04:21to to to match
04:23them up because this says welcome to lock ray here and it has its text there so that's that you
04:29go back
04:29then okay so the text on the right and then they're hitting on the left yeah so it's kind of
04:33if you're
04:34having trouble with that it's best to have the actual page or editing opening in a new tab as well
04:39you could just go back and forth and try and figure out which um which one is it is once
04:44you do it a few
04:45times as well yeah yeah it's all it's all practice um uh that kind of way uh so if we
04:52if we go back so
04:54this page right now it's saved as a draft it's not published yet so that means nobody can view it
04:59if say
05:00I'm off a couple of days and I come back in I want to finish off the page you can
05:04come to the back end
05:05click on pages here and you can see you've got a drafts tab here we can click on drafts and
05:11give
05:11it a second to load
05:24can I ask you another question yeah sure I hope you don't mind do you uh no so like there's
05:32different looks to different pages so if we're told to kind of build a northern ireland landing page or to
05:38build a page for for dogs or you know and lots of might be hidden pages where we just need
05:44the link
05:44so like what what are the different style of the pages like what do we need to ask then do
05:50we need
05:50to ask say James or Barry what how do you want it to look or are there like three styles
05:55or uh well
05:58the thing with your um uh frame or your website is like every page can be completely different but
06:04in general if it's just a simple page you could maybe go through the site um go through a couple
06:11of your pages pick out one that has a layout that you want it to look like so so most
06:16ones would have
06:16the hero image then you could have the uh a text box here and maybe maybe a button and that's
06:23all
06:23you need so you would clone that page then very good so that's the one page essentially you could
06:28just clone away uh yeah you could clone the home page but then you might not want promotions here
06:33um so you you could just remove them from the page so once you create the page you could scroll
06:38down
06:39along find the one you don't want and hit the red x on it there oh very good yeah yeah
06:44yeah so i could just
06:44remove uh the promote uh the image box here that would remove uh these boxes here from this page
06:51here so if uh once you get going and you get into habit habit of it you'll get to know
06:56the pages you
06:57know look all i need is a hero slider a bit of text and a button at the bottom because
07:02that's what most
07:03landing pages are the home page is normally crammed with all your best bits anyway so like um say for
07:10example if i go to your one of your rooms pages are they a little wouldn't be uh so this
07:16is your
07:17triple room so you have your hero uh you have uh this box so it's slightly different so um but
07:24you
07:25you could go through the site and try and find the page that matches what your the page you're trying
07:29to create and just clone and then make a draft of that page okay um yeah so uh my draft
07:36page is loaded now
07:37and we can see my cms training page is here so uh it's uh it's um see i want to
07:43go back into it now
07:44i can just click edit and i can make all my changes to it then so when i'm happy with
07:50everything i can
07:50just hit publish and so uh there's a there's a loading um it's after saving now but once when
08:06you once you click publish uh there's a round bar that loads up here and you just wait for that
08:10so if i click view page now
08:15this page is now uh live on the site so you can see the image i changed there uh you
08:19can see the url
08:20is after changing to cms training 2020 um okay and if i scroll down along you can see it's an
08:28exact copy
08:28of the home page itself okay so uh guys that's cloning and creating a brand new page um i'm gonna
08:36stop the
08:37recording have you any questions before i just stop the recording on creating a page will you you're
08:43going to go through where it'll appear and how to get it to appear in a different menu are you
08:47in a
08:48while uh yeah i'll go through that next just yeah i'll go through that next now so we have our
08:53page
08:53created now and we're going to add it to uh the nav now so we'll click i'll just click stop
