00:00Avio have now included basket abandonment email functionality within the booking journey.
00:06This allows you to capture a shopper's email address and send them the shopping cart,
00:12with different content being sent based on the stage of the journey the shopper is at.
00:18If for instance a shopper is on the choose page, the pop-up appears and they enter their email,
00:24they will be sent a version without a room or rate as they will not have got as far as
00:30making that
00:30selection. If however they are entering their email on the customised page they will have locked in a
00:37room and rate selection and this will be included in their email copy. To collate the email addresses
00:45you must enter specific tokens on the abandonment cart. Jumping out to the help desk article around
00:52this you can see from within here you have the tokens that can be added to trigger the basket sends.
01:02As mentioned they are added to the existing abandonment messaging functionality,
01:08so in this case you can see the token has been added. You can add your own custom text around
01:13this
01:14and you can also add imagery as previously seen. In this example it is a customised version.
01:22What we are looking at here is quite flat on a demo site but you do have full control over
01:27this.
01:28Also as always with abandonment messaging you have the ability on the style page to increase the font
01:34but in this new update you can increase the font from within the editor here.
01:42So you can change fonts on certain lines only.
01:46You also on the abandonment message functionality have the ability to set a different message to display
01:52on the choose page, the customised page or both.
01:57Now let's look at the email copy that a potential guest will receive.
02:04This is a copy of the email that the guest will get from the choose page. At this point they
02:09have only
02:10entered dates and occupancy. They have not locked in a room or a rate. The title of this email will
02:17always be
02:18continue your search from and hotel name is added. There's always a continue button within the email
02:25body that will take them straight through to the date and occupancy selection and in the email it does
02:32highlight the lowest price based on the date the email was sent for the particular search criteria.
02:39Now let's look at the email copy that goes out at the next stage, the customised page.
02:45In this particular case you can see the text differs in both the title instead of saying continue your
02:52search it's now saying complete your booking and the body of the email now includes the room that was selected
02:59and the rate that was selected and the price will update to reflect the room and rate selection also.
03:06Again you have the continue button that will take the shopper back to that date and room selection within the
03:12booking path.
03:17Also on the customised page there is an inline option down here. At this point a guest can also enter
03:25their email as opposed to going via the abandonment pop-ups.
03:34Again it's important to note that you have full control over the messaging that will appear in the booking path,
03:41customised version versus non-customised and you have the ability to set different messages to appear
03:47on both stages. This tool is not only beneficial for properties who want to stay in touch with potential guests,
03:54but also for CRO agents who potentially want to send the basket out to a shopper that is ringing over
04:01the phone
04:02and may be looking at a number of different property or rate options.
