00:17When a wicked person turns from the wickedness he has committed, and does what is just and right, he will
00:26preserve his life.
00:30For I am aware of my rebellious acts, I am forever conscious of my sin.
00:39Hide your face from my sins, wipe away all my guilt.
00:47The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit, O God, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject.
01:01Dearly beloved brothers and sisters, the scripture moves us in sundry places to acknowledge and confess our many sins and
01:10wickedness.
01:12We should not justify nor hide them before the face of Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, but confess them with
01:20a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient heart.
01:24To the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same, by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:35Although we ought always to humbly acknowledge our sins before God, we should do this particularly when we assemble and
01:43meet together,
01:44to give thanks for the great benefits we have received at his hands.
01:48To give him most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word, and to ask those things which are truly
01:57necessary as well for the body as the soul.
02:02Therefore I pray and ask you, who are present here today, to accompany me with a pure heart and humble
02:09voice to the throne of the heavenly grace, as we say together.
02:16Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
02:23We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.
02:29We have offended against your holy laws.
02:32We have failed to do those things which we ought to have done, and we have done things which we
02:39ought not to have done.
02:44But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable sinners.
02:49Spare those, O God, who confess their faults.
02:53Restore those who are truly penitent, according to your promises declared to mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord.
03:03Grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to
03:12the glory of your holy name. Amen.
03:18Grant, we beseech you, merciful Lord, to your faithful people, pardon and peace, that they may be cleansed from all
03:26their sins, and serve you with a quiet mind.
03:30Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
03:38Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be your name.
03:43Your kingdom come, your will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.
03:49Give us this day our daily bread.
03:52Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
03:59Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
04:05For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
04:15O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing out your praise.
04:23O God, make speed to save us.
04:27O Lord, make haste to help us.
04:33Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
04:39As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
04:45Amen.
04:48Praise the Lord.
04:50The Lord's name be praised.
04:56Psalm 82
04:59God stands in the assembly of El.
05:02In the midst of the gods he renders judgment.
05:06He says,
05:07How long will you make unjust legal decisions and show favoritism to the wicked?
05:13Defend the cause of the poor and the fatherless.
05:17Vindicate the oppressed and suffering.
05:20Rescue the poor and needy.
05:22Deliver them from the power of the wicked.
05:25They neither know nor understand.
05:27They stumble around in the dark, while all the foundations of the earth crumble.
05:33I thought, you are gods, all of you are sons of the Most High.
05:38Yet, you will die like mortals.
05:41You will fall like all other rulers.
05:45Rise up, O God, and execute judgment on the earth.
05:49For you own all the nations.
05:52Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning,
05:58is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
06:03Amen.
06:07Psalm 83
06:10O God, do not be silent.
06:13Do not ignore us.
06:15Do not be inactive, O God.
06:17For look, your enemies are making a commotion.
06:20Those who hate you are hostile.
06:23They carefully plot against your people, and make plans to harm the ones you cherish.
06:30They say, come on, let's annihilate them, so they are no longer a nation.
06:35Then, the name of Israel will be remembered no more.
06:40Yes, they devise a unified strategy.
06:43They form an alliance against you.
06:47It includes the tents of Edom, and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites, Jebal, Ammon, and Amalek, Philistere, and the
06:57inhabitants of Tyre.
06:59Even Assyria has allied with them, lending its strength to the descendants of Lot.
07:06Do to them, as you did to Midian, as you did to Caesara and Jebin at the Kishon River.
07:14They were destroyed at Endor.
07:16Their corpses were like manure on the ground.
07:20Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeb, and all their rulers like Zeber and Zalmunna, who said, let us take
07:27over the pastures of God.
07:30O my God, make them like dead thistles, like dead weeds blown away by the wind.
07:38Like the fire that burns down the forest, or the flames that consume the mountainsides.
07:44Chase them with your gale winds, and terrify them with your windstorm.
07:49Cover their faces with shame, that they might seek you, O Lord.
07:55May they be humiliated and continually terrified.
07:59May they die in shame.
08:02Then they will know that you alone are the Lord, the Most High over all the earth.
08:08Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
08:13as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
08:19Amen.
08:23Psalm 84
08:27How lovely is the place where you live, O Lord of heaven's armies!
08:32I desperately want to be in the courts of the Lord's temple.
08:36My heart and my entire being shout for joy to the living God.
08:43Even the birds find a home there, and the swallows build a nest,
08:47where she can protect her young near your altars.
08:51O Lord of heaven's armies, my King and my God!
08:55How blessed are those who live in your temple, and praise you continually!
09:01How blessed are those who find their strength in you,
09:04and long to travel the roads that lead to your temple!
09:10As they pass through the Bacar Valley, he provides a spring for them.
09:15The rain even covers it with pools of water.
09:19They are sustained as they travel along.
09:23Each one appears before God in Zion.
09:27O Lord God of heaven's armies, hear my prayer.
09:31Listen, O God of Jacob!
09:33O God, take notice of our shield.
09:36Show concern for your chosen King.
09:40Certainly spending just one day in your temple courts
09:43is better than spending a thousand elsewhere.
09:47I would rather stand at the entrance to the temple of my God
09:51than live in the tents of the wicked.
09:55For the Lord God is our sovereign protector.
09:58The Lord bestows favour and honour.
10:01He withholds no good thing from those who have integrity.
10:06O Lord of heaven's armies,
10:08how blessed are those who trust in you!
10:12Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
10:16as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
10:21world without end.
10:23Amen.
10:322 Kings, chapters 24 and 25
10:40Jehoiakim was 18 years old when he became king,
10:44and he reigned for three months in Jerusalem.
10:48His mother was Nehushtia, the daughter of Elmathan from Jerusalem.
10:54He did evil in the sight of the Lord,
10:57as his ancestors had done.
11:01At that time, the generals of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon
11:04marched onto Jerusalem and besieged the city.
11:10King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon came to the city
11:13while his generals were besieging it.
11:17King Jehoiakim of Tudor, along with his mother,
11:19his servants, his officials, and his eunuchs,
11:23surrendered to the king of Babylon.
11:26The king of Babylon, in the eighth year of his reign,
11:30took Jehoiakim prisoner.
11:34Nebuchadnezzar took from there all the riches
11:35and the treasuries of the Lord's temple
11:37and of the royal palace.
11:41He removed all the gold items
11:43which King Solomon of Israel
11:44had made for the Lord's temple,
11:47just as the Lord had warned.
11:50He deported all the residents of Jerusalem,
11:54including the officials and all the soldiers,
11:5710,000 people in all.
12:00This included all the craftsmen
12:02and those who worked with metal.
12:05No one was left except the poorest
12:07among the people of the land.
12:10He deported Jehoiakim from Jerusalem to Babylon,
12:15along with the king's mother,
12:16wives, eunuchs,
12:18and the high-ranking officials of the land.
12:22The king of Babylon deported to Babylon
12:25all the soldiers,
12:27there were 7,000,
12:29as well as 1,000 craftsmen and metal workers.
12:33This included all the best warriors.
12:38The king of Babylon
12:40made Mataniah, Jehoiakim's uncle,
12:43king in Jehoiakim's place
12:46and he named him Zedekiah.
12:50The Zedekiah was 21 years old
12:53when he became king
12:54and he ruled for 11 years in Jerusalem.
12:58His mother was Hamatel,
13:00the daughter of Jeremiah from Libna.
13:04He did evil in the sight of the Lord,
13:06just as Jehoiakim had done.
13:11What follows is a record
13:13of what happened to Jerusalem and to Judah
13:16because of the Lord's anger.
13:18He finally threw them out of his presence.
13:23Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon
13:26and so king Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon
13:29came again against Jerusalem
13:33with his whole army
13:34and set up camp outside it.
13:37They built siege ramps all around.
13:40He arrived on the 10th day of the 10th month
13:43in the 9th year of Zedekiah's reign.
13:46The city remained under siege
13:48until King Zedekiah's 11th year.
13:55By the 9th day of the 4th month,
13:57the famine of the city was so severe
14:00the residents had no food.
14:02The enemy broke through the walls
14:04and the soldiers tried to escape.
14:08They left the city during the night.
14:11They went through the gates
14:13between the two walls
14:14that are near the king's garden.
14:16The Babylonians were all around the city.
14:21They headed for the Jordan Valley
14:23but the Babylonian army chased after the king
14:26and caught up with him
14:28on the plains of Jericho
14:29and his entire army deserted him.
14:34They captured the king
14:36and brought him up
14:37to the king of Babylon at Riblah
14:40where he passed sentence upon him.
14:44Zedekiah's sons were executed
14:46while Zedekiah was forced to watch.
14:50The king of Babylon
14:51then had Zedekiah's eyes put out
14:53bound him in bronze chains
14:55and carried him off to Babylon.
14:59This is the word of the Lord.
15:02Thanks be to God.
15:24Mary said
15:26My soul exalts the Lord
15:28and my spirit has begun to rejoice
15:31in God my Saviour
15:33because he has looked
15:35upon the humble state of his servant.
15:39For from now on
15:40all generations will call me blessed
15:42because he who is mighty
15:45has done great things for me
15:47and holy is his name.
15:50From generation to generation
15:52he is merciful to those who fear him.
15:56He has demonstrated power
15:58with his arm.
16:00He has scattered those
16:01whose pride wells up
16:03from the sheer arrogance
16:04of their hearts.
16:06He has brought down
16:07the mighty from their thrones
16:09and has lifted up
16:10those of lowly position.
16:12He has filled the hungry
16:14with good things
16:15and has sent the rich away empty.
16:19He has helped his servant Israel
16:21remembering his mercy
16:23as he promised
16:25to our ancestors
16:26to Abraham
16:27and to his descendants
16:29for ever.
16:32Glory be to the Father
16:33and to the Son
16:34and to the Holy Spirit
16:36as it was in the beginning
16:38is now
16:39and ever shall be
16:40world without end.
16:43Amen.
16:53The First Epistle of St Peter
16:56Chapters 1 and 2
17:01You have purified your souls
17:03by obeying the truth
17:04in order to show sincere mutual love.
17:09So love one another earnestly
17:11with a pure heart.
17:13You have been born anew
17:15not from perishable
17:17but from imperishable seed
17:19through the living
17:21and enduring Word of God.
17:24For all flesh is like grass
17:27and its glory like the flower of grass.
17:30The grass withers
17:32and the flowers fall off
17:34but the Word of the Lord
17:36endures forever.
17:39This is the Word
17:40that was proclaimed to you.
17:42So get rid of all evil
17:45deceit
17:46hypocrisy
17:48envy
17:49and all slander
17:50yearn like newborn infants
17:53for pure
17:54spiritual milk
17:55so that by it
17:58you may grow up
17:59to salvation
18:00if you have experienced
18:02the Lord's kindness.
18:05So as you come to him
18:07a living stone
18:09rejected by men
18:10but chosen and priceless
18:12in God's sight
18:13you yourselves
18:15as living stones
18:16are built up
18:18as a spiritual house
18:19to be a holy priesthood
18:21and to offer
18:22spiritual sacrifices
18:24that are acceptable
18:26to God
18:26through Christ Jesus.
18:29For it says
18:30in Scripture
18:31look
18:32I lay in Zion
18:34a stone
18:35a chosen
18:36and priceless
18:37cornerstone
18:39whoever believes in him
18:41shall never be put
18:43to shame.
18:46So you who believe
18:47see his value
18:48but for those
18:50who do not believe
18:50that stone
18:51that the builders
18:52rejected
18:52has become
18:54the cornerstone
18:55and the stumbling stone
18:57a rock
18:58to trip over.
19:00they stumble
19:01because they disobeyed
19:02the word
19:03as they were destined
19:04to do.
19:06But you
19:07are a chosen race
19:09a royal priesthood
19:11a holy nation
19:12a people
19:13of his own
19:14so that you
19:16may proclaim
19:17the virtues
19:18of the one
19:18who called you
19:19out of darkness
19:20into his
19:22marvellous light.
19:25You once
19:26were not a people
19:27but now
19:29you are
19:29God's people.
19:32You were shown
19:33no mercy
19:34but now
19:35you have
19:36received
19:37mercy.
19:39This is the
19:40word of the Lord.
19:42Thanks be to God.
19:58Now according
19:59to your word
20:00Sovereign Lord
20:01permit your servant
20:03to depart in peace
20:04for my eyes
20:06have seen
20:06your salvation
20:07that you have
20:09prepared
20:09in the presence
20:10of all peoples
20:11a light
20:13for revelation
20:14to the Gentiles
20:15and for glory
20:17to your people
20:18Israel.
20:20glory be
20:21to the Father
20:22and to the Son
20:23and to the Holy Spirit
20:24as it was
20:26in the beginning
20:26is now
20:27and ever shall be
20:28world without end.
20:31Amen.
20:36I believe
20:37in God
20:38the Father
20:38Almighty
20:39maker of heaven
20:41and earth
20:41and in Jesus Christ
20:43his only Son
20:44our Lord
20:45who was conceived
20:47by the Holy Spirit
20:48born of the Virgin Mary
20:50suffered
20:51unto Pontius Pilate
20:54was crucified
20:55dead
20:56and buried
20:57he descended
20:58into hell
20:59on the third day
21:01he rose again
21:01from the dead
21:03he ascended
21:04into heaven
21:05and is sitting
21:06at the right hand
21:07of God
21:08the Father Almighty
21:10from there
21:11he shall come
21:12to judge
21:12the living
21:13and the dead

21:59who is in heaven
22:01holy is your name
