00:00Pass the aux cord and crank up the volume.
00:04Figgy Figs in the driver's seat.
00:07Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.
00:10It's time for Figgy's Mixtape on Sports Radio 610.
00:15Yes, it is the Mixtape in the loop, Sports Radio 610.
00:18It's your man, Figgy Fig, holding it down on a Friday.
00:21Happy Friday to everyone out there.
00:24Before I get to the top 10 most passive-aggressive roles in the U.S.,
00:30and which role in Houston made this list,
00:33I got to give a special shout-out.
00:35First of all, shout-out to Sean Pendergast for just being a really good friend.
00:40So he texted me and B. Scott in a group chat,
00:44and this is what he said.
00:45He said, Amy and I are at a wine bar,
00:49and the bartender Cornelius said,
00:52Hey, I watch you on YouTube every morning.
00:55Then specifically mention Figgy and B. Scott.
00:58Just letting you fellas know.
01:00So just shout-out to Cornelius over at that wine bar for being a great listener.
01:05Shout-out to Cornelius.
01:06And also, Sean texts this.
01:08He said, FYI, they call him Corn Dog.
01:11I like it.
01:12I like it.
01:13Shout-out to Cornelius, man.
01:15You mean Corn Dog.
01:16My bad.
01:17Look, here's the thing.
01:19I'm going to be a little petty.
01:21I didn't hear my name get mentioned.
01:22Why I got to call him Corn Dog?
01:24Because he's Corn Dog, man.
01:25He might want his friends to call him Corn Dog,
01:27and I don't feel like we friends.
01:28That's all I'm saying.
01:30You got to get to that status, man.
01:32Look at Corn Dog, man, for always listening and being a supporter.
01:35No, absolutely.
01:36Always.
01:37Yeah.
01:37Top 10 most passive-aggressive roles in USA.
01:41I'm going to skip through this list,
01:43because we probably don't know most of these roles.
01:45But Westheimer, Westheimer made number 10.
01:50Okay.
01:51In the nation?
01:52Yes, in the U.S., and this is from the New York Post.
01:56I'm curious how a road is passive-aggressive, you know?
02:01Yeah, that's a good question.
02:02Because sometimes they're just aggressive-aggressive.
02:05Right.
02:05Like, Westheimer is just, you know, when you make,
02:09you get that little anxiety when you make that exit,
02:12I got to go on Westheimer, and you immediately know,
02:15this is going to be a mess, no matter when you go.
02:17Yeah.
02:18I'm kind of curious what they mean by this, too,
02:20because, like, Westheimer, certain parts is kind of cool.
02:24I think towards the Montrose area, I think it could be a little tight.
02:28But then when you get past the Galleria,
02:30I feel like it's like four lanes on each side.
02:32Where it is, it feels like a freeway.
02:35To me, a passive-aggressive road is one that can, you know,
02:40you don't expect it to be necessarily crowded,
02:43but more times than not, it is.
02:45Well, there's some passive-aggressive roads outside of Westheimer here.
02:48I'm trying to think.
02:50I'm trying to think, too.
02:55I'm trying to.
02:56Oh, man.
02:56I think, well.
02:58I think Maine can kind of be a little passive-aggressive over there by NRG.
03:05Oh, yeah.
03:05Downtown Louisiana can be,
03:08because a lot of times you can fly through Louisiana,
03:10but just out of the clear blue, if somebody's having an event
03:13or if there's something at one of the theater district, you know, venues,
03:18all of a sudden it just turns into a hell.
03:20Is it a passive-aggressive road if it happens to be one of those places
03:23where, like, people won't let you over?
03:24Or, you remember that time that I actually had a minor, minor car accident on Westheimer,
03:30and Buddy turned into Westheimer and then tried to cut through three lanes of traffic
03:35to get over into a driveway real quick?
03:38I don't know if that's passive-aggressive.
03:39That might be aggressive-aggressive.
03:41I think the passive-aggressive is more of I'm not letting you over.
03:43I'm not letting you in.
03:44That type of stuff.
03:46And I can see that on Westheimer.
03:47I think you're right, Maine feels like one of those two.
03:50Yeah, and don't let it be some type of event going on.
03:53Didn't they put the cones out in the middle so you can't make a U-turn?
03:56So now you've got to go all the way up to that Kroger just to make a U-turn
04:00to come back around?
04:01Oh, yeah.
04:02That, to me, is passive-aggressive.
04:04By the way, Corndog has weighed in on the YouTube channel.
04:07Reggie, I rock with you all day, brother.
04:09Oh, man.
04:10There you go, man.
04:11Take what you said back.
04:12What's his name?
04:13Say his name.
04:14My bad, Corndog.
04:15I got you, Big Dog.
04:16I don't know how I would feel about people calling me Corndog, man.
04:19Really?
04:20Oh, now you're going after he shouted you out.
04:22To me, that's too close because I'm glad he said, you know,
04:25that's his name and all that.
04:26But to me, that's too close to Cornball.
04:29Mm-hmm.
04:30You don't want to be called a Cornball.
04:32Ah, I see what you're going with.
04:33So, yeah, man.
04:35Salute to Corndog, man.
04:38It's the Mixtape in the Loop, Sports Radio 610.
04:41And we haven't had one of these in a minute.
04:45Turkey Leg Hut update.
04:46Oh.
04:47Yeah.
04:48There's still updates for Turkey Leg Hut?
04:49It's still going on, man.
04:51It's still going on.
04:53So, Len Price, who was the co-founder of Turkey Leg Hut,
04:57has changed his plea deal from not, remember,
05:02he was involved in that arson of a little, I guess,
05:06get back of a rival bar to kind of blow it up.
05:10And here is KPRC2 Bryce with this story.
05:14Nearly six years to the day since an explosion rocked the museum district
05:18nearly leveling Bar 5015,
05:20ex-Turkey Leg Hut owner Lynn Price admitted to masterminding the whole plot.
05:25He changed his plea from not guilty to guilty.
05:27In federal court Thursday, Price, who once owned the famed Houston restaurant,
05:31pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit arson,
05:35telling the judge he directed a crew to set fire to rival business Bar 5015,
05:40surveillance video capturing them, dousing the bar patio in gas.
05:44And three minutes after the flames first ignited,
05:47they called him to report the arson complete.
05:50Federal investigators say Price then paid the crew some $1,400,
05:53but that, Price said, didn't happen.
05:56You heard what our client said in court,
05:58and I'm going to let that speak for itself.
06:00The explosion stemmed from a dispute,
06:02federal investigators say,
06:03when the Bar 5015 owner didn't let Price buy into the business,
06:07and Price got upset over them using the same crawfish supplier.
06:11The plea agreement comes just over a year after Price got arrested,
06:15and after two of the people involved in the plot already pled guilty.
06:19Did two others taking a plea agreement before this lead
06:23somewhat to this?
06:24Again, you know, we're not going to walk you through the considerations
06:28that went into Mr. Price changing his plea from not guilty to guilty.
06:32While the FBI says Price also sold marijuana out of his restaurant
06:36and faced other drug and gun charges,
06:39those are now expected.
06:41Price once faced up to life in prison,
06:44but because of this plea agreement,
06:45he now faces up to 20 years.
06:47Tonight he remains in federal custody
06:49and will return to court in late September for sentencing.
06:52It's funny because I was sitting there like,
06:54why would he change his plea from not guilty to guilty?
06:57And then that last part when I'm like,
06:59oh, they're going to drop the gun charges,
07:02the drug charges and all.
07:03I'm like, ah, okay, I got you.
07:05Yeah, let's just go right to 20 years.
07:08Because it would have been more if they had no guns.
07:11I can almost promise you there's been kind of a wink-wink
07:13of it ain't going to be 20.
07:15You know, it might be five,
07:16and then you're out in two or something like that.
07:20It could be.
07:21Because the gun charges and all that being dropped,
07:23they're going to be able to negotiate that a little bit.
07:25Yeah, it could be.
07:26He'd have a better chance.
07:27If he would have took this to court,
07:30he would have been gone for good, good.
07:33Yeah.
07:33Like, no chance of hell he getting out.
07:37A little more update on Turkey Leg Hut
07:39as I continue the mixtape in the Lube Sports Radio 610.
07:43And so Turkey Leg Hut is making a pop-up return tomorrow.
07:46Wait, what?
07:47Tomorrow, yeah.
07:48Like, I wonder if they planned this out a little bit.
07:51Like, one go away.
07:52He got the plea deal, and he's like,
07:53you know how we can make some money?
07:55Yeah, yeah.
07:56Although, I think the co-owner, which was his...
07:59It's the other one, yeah.
08:00His ex-wife.
08:02His ex-wife, yeah.
08:02Yeah, Nikita Holmes.
08:04Here's her talking about what's going on this weekend.
08:08Yes, we are doing...
08:09The original Turkey Leg Hut is doing a pop-up here at Quad.
08:134608 Alameda, right down the street from the old Turkey Leg Hut.
08:16We'll have all of the Turkey Legs and Cajun Bowls.
08:20However, we have a lit amount.
08:22So, I suggest that you get here early.
08:24And free parking, drinks, vibes.
08:28Don't meet me there.
08:29Meet me there.
08:30Yeah, so if you're a fan of the old Turkey Leg Hut,
08:34they got the pop-up.
08:35By the way, shout-out to Michael Brockers.
08:38Quad, that's his restaurant.
08:40That's his spot right there.
08:42Oh, okay.
08:42Yeah, so he owned that spot.
08:44So, if you're a fan of Turkey Leg Hut,
08:46you got one chance tomorrow to get it.
08:50Pretty cool.
08:52Yeah, okay.
08:53Are you looking at Turkey Leg Hut differently?
08:55Have you been there before?
08:57I've been to – actually, I haven't been to the Turkey Leg Hut.
08:59Like, I've been to a variation of, like, a Turkey Leg restaurants.
09:03But I haven't been to the original, like, the Houston iteration of it.
09:06And now I'm like, am I going for the food or, like, the spectacle?
09:10Yeah, exactly.
09:10And I feel like the answer might just be yes.
09:12Yeah.
09:12Yeah, no, the food was pretty good.
09:14I just didn't agree with the whole standing in line for days trying to get there.
09:19It wasn't that damn good.
09:20And then the price was a little bit –
09:21Yeah, that's the thing also.
09:22So, how much is the Turkey Leg Hut pop-up about to be?
09:25Yeah.
09:26Yeah.
09:26Am I about to spend, like, a gas tank worth of –
09:30They're going to get you.
09:31Yeah, see, I don't know about that one.
09:32Yeah, they're going to get you.
09:34All right, I'll get you all out of here on this.
09:37So, shout out to all the good employees out there.
09:41You got some good ones that will do whatever it takes to make sure the company is good
09:45and just be a total team player.
09:48And do you guys feel like y'all are in that category?
09:52I'm on the category below it.
09:53I'm a pretty good team player, but there are some instances where you're like,
09:56All right.
09:56They come in and say, Hey, we need you.
09:58Can you do this?
09:59You're like, Sure, I got you.
10:01Yeah, I think we all are.
10:03I feel like me and Ben Gary, the producer for the morning show, is really in this category.
10:09So, here is meteorologist who was doing the weather live on the air, and this happened.
10:16A new level of dedication from one meteorologist unbothered by the heat.
10:21Noah Simmons of our CBS affiliate in Fort Smith, Arkansas, was on the air last night covering
10:26a tornado threat when a studio light caught fire, and it got worse fast.
10:32So, we just had a fire in the studio, but we got two tornado warnings, so we got to keep
10:36tracking this and covering this live as this lifts its way north through...
10:40Simmons kept reporting.
10:41As a producer worked to put out the fire, no one was injured.
10:46Dude, it was smoking in there, like you could see it, and he was still doing the weather.
10:53He was literally waving the smoke out of his face, trying to make sure he helped out the
10:58people.
10:58He loved his job that much.
11:00Dang!
11:01And me and Ben Gary, we kind of went through a situation like that.
11:04It wasn't a fire or anything.
11:05God bless.
11:06It was one of those Texans Mondays where it was just me and him and the other music stations
11:11up here at the time.
11:12Yeah.
11:12And we kept hearing the whole...
11:14Well, I heard a big old boom, boom, boom, boom.
11:19And all the music stations ran out like, what is that?
11:22That sounded like a bomb.
11:23Let's get out of here.
11:24Yeah.
11:24Everybody dipped out of here, even old Andy the engineer dipped out of here.
11:28All right.
11:29I feel like Andy the engineer, he's the canary in coal.
11:32He was gone.
11:33Everybody was gone.
11:34And I stayed up here.
11:35I'm like, man, I kind of got work to do.
11:38And so I went in here to check on Ben and hear noise because he had his headphones on,
11:43you know, working the station.
11:45Mm-hmm.
11:46And we both was just like, well, somebody got to run the station.
11:50And I'm like, I got work to do.
11:51I mean, we're still standing.
11:53Long story less long, it was a speaker going off because the power flickered.
11:57Oh.
11:57So I guess they left the speaker and the amp on in the live lounge.
12:02Mm-hmm.
12:02But I'm like, damn, we was ready to risk it all, man, for this damn job.
12:06I got to reevaluate myself, man.
12:08I think you do.
12:09That's why Corndog mentioned you, right?
12:11Because he knows that dedication that you have.
12:13Yeah.
12:13What if it was a bomb?
12:15And we just sitting here, somebody got to run the station?
12:18Man, these music stations, Dana Cortez, I'm calling all y'all.
12:22They're out.
12:23They all ran.
12:23Man, they got their stuff and dipped out.
12:27They ain't give a damn about that radio station.
12:29And we sitting up here like, well, somebody got to do it.
12:32We need to put that on a promo.
12:34The only radio station in town where the producers are willing to die for it.
12:38Sports radio station.
12:39I call Andy like, hey, what's going on?
12:41He'll be like, oh, sorry.
12:42I'm on the street.
12:43Yeah, yeah.
12:43I left out too.
12:44I'm like, damn.
12:46And he's like, I'm already home.
12:47I don't know what you're talking about.
12:48All right, there you go.
12:49Another edition of the mixtape here in the Loop on Sports Radio 610,
12:521.20 p.m. every weekday right here on the program.
12:55If you see something you believe is mixtape worthy,
