00:00:37we're here to review a très bien episode of Monday Night Raw.

00:00:42You know what? I enjoyed it.

00:00:44Yeah!

00:00:45They were quite good.

00:00:47It felt like I was there.

00:00:51When WWE's production is best in class, it's irritatingly good, but when they go to these underserved markets and the

00:00:58crowd actually reacts to the wrestling moves,

00:01:03even though, like, some of the matches were good, one of them was really good, it's not out-of-this

00:01:09-world stuff, it's not the best stuff you've ever seen,

00:01:11but relative to this drudgery of the American shows, it just feels, like, vibrant, alive, it's popping off,

00:01:18and you're sat there in your living room at a reasonable time and going, hey, maybe this slop ain't so

00:01:23bad.

00:01:25I had a couple of takeaways.

00:01:27One was, similar to what I said on the Smackdown review, actually,

00:01:30this King-Queen of the Ring tournament has actually made stuff start to happen again.

00:01:35It felt like we were just on a loop for a long time.

00:01:38And number two is, we always have this cycle when they go to Europe, and I don't know what part

00:01:43we're at now,

00:01:44which is, like, amazing European, like you say, underserved European crowds, like, huge, deafening chants and stuff,

00:01:52and then there's a little part where people are like, I'm kind of fed up with this, I want to

00:01:56get back to the States.

00:01:57Then they go back to the States, and it's, where's Alt-Noah? He's gone.

00:02:01So I genuinely saw a tweet yesterday saying they should never go back to the United States for wrestling again.

00:02:07Nah, after Backlash 2023, I think it was, I just relocated to Puerto Rico.

00:02:12Yeah.

00:02:12Why not?

00:02:14Yeah, I mean, it is a cheat code, obviously, but...

00:02:18Don't you, you're going to press the buttons, aren't you?

00:02:20Yeah, obviously, I'm going to use it.

00:02:22And this was kind of personified by the start of the show,

00:02:24all the arrivals and the recap of King-Queen of the Ring last week.

00:02:28And Oberfemi's music hits, and he struts down to the ring, and there are deafening Ober chants,

00:02:41so much so that he starts talking.

00:02:43Like, Oberfemi.

00:02:47He starts talking, saying, you guys are wonderful here in Paris.

00:02:51I'd love to stand here, because he just keeps going.

00:02:53I'd love to stand here and watch you exalt me all night, but we have things to attend to,

00:02:57and the fans are like, no, no, no.

00:02:58And they do another Ober chant, so it's the point where he has to stop talking.

00:03:05But eventually, he says, let's get down to business.

00:03:09Me and Paul Heyman don't agree on a lot of things,

00:03:11but we do have one opinion that we both share,

00:03:13and that is that Paul Heyman doesn't believe in predictions.

00:03:15He believes in spoilers, and so do I.

00:03:17So I've got a little bit of a spoiler for you guys here in Paris tonight.

00:03:20I'm going to run through every single man in this King-in-the-Ring tournament,

00:03:23down to the last one, and I'll meet the last one one-on-one at Night of Champions.

00:03:27Whoever he is, he will fight valiantly,

00:03:29but unfortunately, his journey ends there, because I will destroy him as well,

00:03:33and when I do, I'll take my rightful place upon the throne as your new King-in-the-Ring,

00:03:38and that's not a prediction, that's a spoiler.

00:03:41And I will take that crown, because as you know,

00:03:44your ruler needs a crown to be the ruler, doesn't he?

00:03:46And 2026 is the year of collecting trophies,

00:03:49but there is one trophy that I have yet to collect,

00:03:51and that is the head of Brock Lesnar,

00:03:54because the score is 1-1, and he's nowhere to be seen.

00:03:57He comes back, he gets even, and he disappears,

00:03:59and he does it in the most underhanded way possible.

00:04:02He cheats.

00:04:03He hits me from behind.

00:04:04He attacks when I'm not looking,

00:04:06and I get to listen to Paul Heyman talk about what I unleashed in his big, bad beast.

00:04:11But the only thing I've seen for the last three weeks is a big, bad bitch.

00:04:17So, Brock, you can't stay away forever.

00:04:19When I see you, I will settle the score.

00:04:22This brings out Dominic Mysterio.

00:04:26Perfect.

00:04:26Perfect before anyone open their mouth is.

00:04:29And he is booed so loudly that not only can we not really hear him,

00:04:36I bought that Oba probably also couldn't hear what he was saying in the ring.

00:04:39He's, what?

00:04:41Say again.

00:04:42He says, Oba, you don't rule anybody.

00:04:44You're so worried about Brock Lesnar.

00:04:47Brock, he's, I've got what he said here written down,

00:04:50but because he has to repeat himself because no one can hear him,

00:04:53it sounds like he's, Brock, you're so worried about Brock Lesnar.

00:04:56And I say, you're a rookie.

00:04:58I said, I said you're a rookie.

00:05:01There, he said, how long have you been here, rookie?

00:05:03I'm a 20-year veteran in this game.

00:05:06Absolutely unbelievable line.

00:05:32The idea should have been that he is so adamant in the face of,

00:05:38I mean, look at Oba Femi compared to him.

00:05:46like the rich guy's like,

00:05:47I'm going to be the ultimate fighting champion.

00:05:50She's like, what?

00:05:52Monica's like, what?

00:05:52And he goes, I'm going to be the ultimate fighting champion.

00:05:56Just, I find it hilarious when someone so ill-equipped to do something

00:06:01is adamant that they can do it.

00:06:03It's just brilliant.

00:06:04I didn't need that last line from Dominic Mysterio.

00:06:06Take it completely seriously.

00:06:08Obviously, it's funnier if you think in your stupid,

00:06:11deluded little nepo baby head

00:06:14that you're going to have a match with this guy,

00:06:17let alone beat him.

00:06:19But he has a plan, Sige,

00:06:21and that plan is hit Oba Femi with a chair.

00:06:25Well, not him.

00:06:26JD McDonough comes in.

00:06:27Fans are like,

00:06:29and he nails Oba Femi in the back.

00:06:32He doesn't move.

00:06:34Oh, my God.

00:06:36And I will say for JD McDonough,

00:06:38JD's reaction was very good here.

00:06:39He looks at the chair to be like,

00:06:41what the hell happened?

00:06:43And he goes to do it again,

00:06:45and Oba punches the chair into JD's face,

00:06:48and he grabs him.

00:06:49He's like spilling out of the ring,

00:06:50but he's in position,

00:06:51because he's leaning through the ropes,

00:06:53for a 619 from Dominic Mysterio,

00:06:55who heads up top,

00:06:57and then just gets snatched out of the air by Oba Femi.

00:07:00He hits the pizza toss,

00:07:01or whatever it's called,

00:07:03and he goes to hit the fall from grace,

00:07:05but JD McDonough pulls Dominic Mysterio off

00:07:08before he can hit it,

00:07:10and Oba gets on the mic and says,

00:07:14hey, Dom, you messed up tonight.

00:07:16We all know Rey Mysterio is your father.

00:07:18Next week, I will introduce you to your daddy.

00:07:21Oh, my God.

00:07:22Oh, my God.

00:07:23Oh, my God.

00:07:24Oh, my God.

00:07:25This is absolutely wonderful pro wrestling,

00:07:28all of this.

00:07:28Loud, idiot heels,

00:07:31an unstoppable baby face.

00:07:33It will be promotional malpractice

00:07:35if this dude doesn't close out the air with that belt.

00:07:42I understand.

00:07:43He gets European reactions in America, Oba Femi.

00:07:51a little bit tired of the Cody Punk Roman,

00:07:55Obviously, they're all very, very over.

00:07:57They are in the spots that they are in

00:07:59for a damn good reason,

00:08:00but there is a sense of fatigue

00:08:02around that main event picture.

00:08:04There is equally a sense of frustration

00:08:06that certain wrestlers aren't getting elevated,

00:08:08even though, I must reiterate,

00:08:10in the case of Braun Breaker,

00:08:12there's reasons.

00:08:14But they just,

00:08:15it could not be more obvious to WWE,

00:08:19it's time to elevate this guy.

00:08:21Anyway, I still don't know

00:08:23what Oba Femi year four or five looks like.

00:08:26He cannot have him get beat,

00:08:29look at him that often.

00:08:31But at the same time,

00:08:32if he wins that often,

00:08:34wrestling fans can be fickle.

00:08:35I don't think they're as fickle as people say,

00:08:37but they can be.

00:08:38And it never ends and da-da-da-da-da.

00:08:42Oba Femi gets better every single week.

00:08:44His promos,

00:08:45like, usually with a wrestler like that,

00:08:48the more they talk,

00:08:49the more it's sort of like,

00:08:50the aura sort of like evaporates a bit

00:08:53and they just become normalized.

00:08:54I don't know how they've done it,

00:08:56and this dude just must be better

00:08:57at most aspects of the game

00:08:58than I thought at least a few months ago.

00:09:01But like, he is so good

00:09:03that he can welcome you to Monday Night Raw.

00:09:06And you'd think,

00:09:06oh God, it's going to be weird

00:09:07when Oba Femi welcomes you

00:09:08to Monday Night Raw.

00:09:09That's going to ruin it a little bit.

00:09:10The magic, no.

00:09:12The way that all of this was blocked

00:09:14to give Dominic something with a 619,

00:09:16the way it was all thought about and framed.

00:09:18How do you make it look like

00:09:19you can't get at him,

00:09:20but A, it's going to take a plot,

00:09:25a fiendish plot, a little scheme,

00:09:27and B, it's going to last a matter of seconds

00:09:29because look, he's huge.

00:09:31Oba Femi's emphasis in his delivery here

00:09:33was tremendous.

00:09:34The line that they fed him about

00:09:36you're going to meet your daddy

00:09:38was just like,

00:09:39you get t-shirts out of that.

00:09:41This guy has got everything

00:09:42to be a star for two years at a minimum.

00:09:46Maybe even a maximum.

00:09:47But my God, do it.

00:09:49Don't be stupid.

00:09:50It's one thing with Jacob Fatu

00:09:53and Brom Breaker

00:09:54where it's like,

00:09:55sometimes they just don't deliver

00:09:57in these long matches.

00:09:58They've probably waited

00:09:59a little bit too long.

00:10:03from WWE's perspective

00:10:04why they didn't just main event

00:10:05WrestleMania together.

00:10:06I don't think it's as simple as that.

00:10:14if they can't get this guy

00:10:17and stay there for at least a year.
