00:00So AEW Dynamite started with Roos going crazy because he is finally getting a world title match
00:04and he has decided he is willing to die in the ring.
00:07I was like, Roos, don't do that.
00:08Even if you do lose, you can just come again, win a bunch of matches that has literally been your
00:12story.
00:13When MJF walked in, he gave him a slap.
00:15And given that our world title match was going to be our first bout,
00:18I actually thought it was a pretty good way to start.
00:20Also, my friends, I'm one of the ups and downs, the only professional wrestling review show you need.
00:24I mean, why you would need a professional wrestling review show, I don't know.
00:26But I have watched professional wrestling, so you don't have to.
00:29And essentially, you know the deal by now.
00:31We're going to give the good bits an up and we're going to give the bad bits a down.
00:34And actually, I think AEW Dynamite's on a bit of a tear right now.
00:37There's lots to enjoy.
00:38As for this first match, it was utterly ridiculous.
00:43It was kind of weird because before we got to the whole thing,
00:45Rene Paquette was talking to Roos for the second time.
00:47It's like, my gosh, you really do enjoy having a chat.
00:50When Andrade walked in, he's like, oh man, Roos, you've got to go out there
00:53and win this world championship to prove if anybody's ever been told you can't do it,
00:57you can go and do it.
00:58And then Roos went out there and he didn't do it.
01:00Whoops.
01:01He also learned that this match is going to be no count out.
01:03So I started looking around my house like, what?
01:05Where did that come from?
01:06Because it was kind of crazy.
01:07But I think basically AEW did this so that these two guys could absolutely murder each other.
01:12And yes, of course, when MJF came to the ring,
01:14he was taking the mick out of Roos' Mexican heritage.
01:17And good grief to that piss off Roos.
01:19Hangman also made announcer Justin Roberts say,
01:22oh, by the way, we're in Hangman Adam Page territory.
01:24And don't forget that schmuck can never challenge for the world championship again.
01:27And in that moment, I stared off into the distance.
01:29I said to myself, I think I've just figured out why and how MJF is losing that belt.
01:33MJF then spat in Roos' face.
01:35And amazingly, I am going to talk to you about spitting later.
01:38Because for some reason, this episode of AEW Dynamite was obsessed with it.
01:41When Roos got a camera cable and he tried to kill MJF, which is interesting.
01:45He also talked about death during the opening segment.
01:48And the ref was like, Roos, my dear boy, you've made a terrible mistake.
01:52While I'm not going to count you out, I will disqualify you.
01:55And then he never disqualified him.
01:57What are you going to do?
01:58And eventually as well, MJF threw Roos' face into an exposed team of the turnbuckle.
02:01So we got blood as well.
02:03And again, this was the first match of Dynamite where they just went absolutely crazy.
02:07You should go and watch it.
02:08It is very good.
02:09And when Roos went for the bullhorns and crashed into Barry Barricade,
02:12and MJF gave him a flipping tombstone on the rubble,
02:15I was like, this is nuts, man.
02:17This is why I don't understand why people get mad when you are told
02:20you're going to get a free world title match on your television show.
02:23Who possibly couldn't enjoy this?
02:24It kind of felt like a pay-per-view.
02:26There was also a twist before all this as well,
02:27because not only was MJF all screwed up from Roos absolutely destroying him,
02:31but Roos had a bad arm after an arm bar from Maxwell Jacob Freeman
02:34when the referee decided, no, no, no, neither of you can carry on.
02:38We need to bring a doctor down here.
02:40And the doctor was like, that's right, we are cancelling the match.
02:42And Justin Roberts even said, oh, I'm sorry, friends.
02:45We can't continue when Roos headbutted the referee.
02:49Now, look, don't get me wrong.
02:49This is the best I've ever seen in my life.
02:51I laughed out loud.
02:52But what is the deal with doctors and trainers in AEW?
02:56Like one guy told Will Ospreay a few weeks ago, you can't do this.
02:59He did it anyway.
03:00Now you've got trainers and doctors actually saying we are calling the match off.
03:03And because Roos attacked a company employee, apparently the match can continue.
03:07I just don't understand the purpose of this or what it served,
03:10other than the fact it was badass.
03:11It was badass, I understand that.
03:13If somebody came up with this idea in the back,
03:15I'd get everyone going, oh man, that would be great.
03:18But it also made absolutely no sense.
03:19I'm just going to give it a minor down.
03:21I'm going to kind of wrap in the no count out thing too.
03:24It was kind of done just because we could do it,
03:26which is fine.
03:27But it's also crazy.
03:28Actually, while we are here as well,
03:29I'm actually going to throw in another justification for that down.
03:32So you can take all these pieces and put them together.
03:34Because at one point during this, the commentary was also saying,
03:37isn't it interesting that MJF chose Roos over Mark Briscoe?
03:41And I was like, we established this last week.
03:43He didn't really choose.
03:44Everybody had made it clear that Roos had won so many matches recently.
03:46There was no way that MJF was going to be able to turn this down.
03:49Whereas Mark Briscoe, well, he's coming back not after some losses,
03:52but he's not really been on a winning streak.
03:54So that didn't make much sense to me.
03:55So yeah, there's just like three triangles of stuff.
03:59And they all become a down.
04:00We've already talked about a down, but I wanted to talk about that bit too.
04:03But don't worry about that at all though,
04:04because again, it was such a good match and towards the end, yes, MJF of all the moves
04:08applied the LaBelle lock.
04:09And because Roos hadn't got his eight hours, eventually he did go to sleep.
04:13But of course, on the way, not only was he insulting Maxwell, but he also flipped him off.
04:18And again, I was like, Roos, I wouldn't have done that.
04:20You probably could have conserved a little bit more energy.
04:22Of course, MJF was going to finish Roos off after this,
04:24but out came Mark Briscoe to make the save.
04:26This is the worst plan ever because Maxwell just realized,
04:29well, you do have a penis and he thumped him in it.
04:31It also meant the conglomeration had to come out to stop him as well.
04:34So they must have been furious.
04:35They were probably in the back just hanging out playing Nintendo.
04:38And they were like, oh my gosh,
04:39we told Mark that plan was never going to work.
04:41Let's go help him.
04:42It was such a crazy match though.
04:44And again, Roos just proved that he did want to make him the world champion
04:46at some point with the right build.
04:48You could totally get away with it.
04:49I am giving it an up.
04:51And then this damn Mark Briscoe man,
04:53he went and cut a promo of a lifetime.
04:56Before that as well though, he had a match with Leo Rush.
04:59And my gosh, this was so damn fun.
05:01And what a couple of characters AEW has here.
05:04And I do think Leo Rush's new black heart gimmick
05:06is a lesson to anybody coming up right now
05:08or anybody that is on TV.
05:10If you do come up with an idea,
05:11just pull the trigger because good grief,
05:13it's so entertaining and weird.
05:15He kind of got set up as well
05:16because Leo Rush was kind of just sneaking around the conglomeration
05:19who treated him like a T-Rex.
05:20They were like, man, if we don't move, he can't see you.
05:23And yes, you know the deal here.
05:25Leo Rush goes 100 miles an hour.
05:27He's just so good at what he does.
05:28Mark Briscoe is a brilliant professional wrestler.
05:31So they just took all their moves.
05:32They had a whale of a time.
05:34And their energy came out the screen.
05:35And I had a whale of a time too.
05:36But at one point as well,
05:37Mark Briscoe even saw a sign in the crowd
05:38that said, throw him here.
05:40So he threw Leo Rush in that direction.
05:43I guess Leo's big mistake
05:44is he kept going for that springboard
05:46somethingamajig that he does,
05:47which is a good move.
05:48I've actually taken it in progress wrestling.

05:52When eventually he went for another one,
05:54Mark Briscoe was like,
05:54nope, not this time.
05:56And he hit it with a big old driver
05:57and he got the one, two, three.
05:58Now again, quite clearly,
05:59Mark Briscoe versus MGF is on the cards.
06:01I think AEW realized,
06:02well, we're going to have to throw something
06:03in the works here to justify it.
06:06When yes, we got to this Mark Briscoe promo.
06:08This is going to be my catchphrase
06:10for a lot of what did happen on AEW Dynamite.
06:12But just go and watch it for yourself.
06:14I mean, it was bloody brilliant.
06:15He turned it into the fact that a few years ago,
06:17he did lose his brother, Jay.
06:18And at that point,
06:19he was in a terrible place
06:20and he didn't know what to do,
06:22which is why AEW or professional wrestling
06:24became his saving grace.
06:25He had all these horrible feelings deep down inside.
06:28He didn't know what to do with.
06:29But when he came out there to wrestle,
06:31everything would just calm down.
06:32He also referred to the conglomeration
06:34as the group that made his heart feel full again.
06:36So I was like, oh my gosh,
06:37nobody is allowed to say
06:38they haven't been justified anymore.
06:40But he also said the reason he hates MGF
06:42is because he just whines
06:43and he bitches and he moans
06:44and he acts like the weight of the world
06:46is on his shoulders,
06:47but it's not true
06:48and he's just a piece of trash.
06:49He also just speaks in lies
06:50and right now he does have something
06:51that Mark Briscoe wants,
06:52which is that world championship.
06:54So given that Maxwell does go around
06:56saying I'm the best,
06:57I'm the best,
06:57nobody can beat me.

18:23you have to go and watch this
18:24and as for the last five minutes
18:26well they are truly truly excellent
18:28Davis is still wearing that eye patch as well
18:29so somewhere Cody Rhodes is jealous
18:31and again sometimes
18:32Will Ospreay would jump at him
18:34and just get slapped out of the air
18:35and the chops
18:36the chops that Mark Davis gave this guy
18:39I thought his hand was gonna go through
18:41Will Ospreay's chest
18:41come out the other side
18:42and you'll be shocked to hear
18:44that didn't happen
18:44Ospreay kept crumbling like apples too
18:46and he would wiggle his fingers
18:47that is a good way to sell a neck injury

19:17as we were going full sports entertainment

19:20Will Ospreay got the hidden blade
19:21but there was nowhere to make the count
19:23when out came the Don Callis family
19:25and out came the Death Riders
19:26and they just had a massive brawl mid-match
19:29and listen
19:29it's not like Jon Moxie
19:30hadn't talked about this earlier
19:31he had done
19:32but in terms of some carnage
19:33and in terms of some Dr. Robotnik chaos
19:35I don't know
19:36it just worked for me
19:37because it was so damn over the top
19:39the only silly thing I thought
19:40is that Marina Shafir did go after
19:41Mark Davis at one point
19:43and while it was great
19:43seeing those two interact
19:44because Marina just comes across
19:46like an unhinged maniac
19:47she spat on him
19:48and I was like
19:49why are you spitting on him again
19:51and listen
19:51spitting doesn't offend me at all
19:53and I think you want to spit
19:54in professional wrestling
19:54you totally can
19:55but to have three spits
19:57I can't believe I'm going to talk about this
19:59but it's the law of diminishing returns
20:00it means even though what Marina Shafir here
20:02was doing was like disgusting
20:04and oh my gosh
20:04you don't give a damn
20:05it didn't hit us hard
20:06because we'd already seen

20:23so he carried on his brand new feud with Kyle

20:27of course Kyle had brought a screwdriver in there
20:29so Will was like
20:30man I better hit the hidden blade
20:31and he did on Mark Davis
20:32but once again there was no referee
20:34where from nowhere
20:35Mark Davis hit this awful waffle
20:38for a one-two-oo
20:39and listen
20:40kudos to those guys
20:41they got me
20:42but at this point as well
20:43the crowd was going crazy
20:44and these two dudes
20:45were just going absolutely nuts as well
20:46and when Ospreay realised
20:48he could reverse something
20:48into the death ground
20:50or the ground death
20:51whatever his new arm bar is called
20:52he did lock it in
20:54and once again
20:54bless this Mark Davis
20:55he understands how you get a brand new manoeuvre over
20:58and that big old man tapped out basically instantly
21:01but that's absolutely how you get some shiv over
21:03and Will Ospreay is now going to the finals
21:04and if you wanted to have some electricity in his feet
21:08this was just the way to do it
21:09it was such a good match
21:11it was so over the top
21:11it was so damn crazy
21:12but you couldn't help but enjoy it
21:14once again it kind of felt like a pay-per-view match
21:16but it was on free television
21:17I am just going to give it an up
21:19and yes
21:20if you are only going to watch one match from this week
21:22it should probably be this one
21:24which brought us to the end of Dynamite as well
21:25and I thought this was a tremendous episode
21:27just because the Owen is giving so much structure to things
21:30and even the Kevin Hyde hill turn
21:31which is kind of nuts
21:32well I want to see where it's going to go
21:34and Mercedes is back
21:35and anything MGF does right now
21:36feels like big time
21:37I am giving it an up
21:39I think right now they have found their feet
21:41but of course as always
21:42it's what you think about AW Dynamite
21:44that is way more important than this
