00:12And we currently have four kiddos,
00:14so we just go all in on everything.

00:23Every time we traveled, we would talk about
00:26buying a house there.
00:27It was kind of our pipe dream.
00:28And then we came to Spanish Wells and immediately fell in love.
00:34Yeah, it's very private, very secluded, very romantic.
00:37Makes me feel like when we were first dating.
00:39But buying a house in the Bahamas is a giant financial risk.
00:43But we both are big thrill seekers.
00:45We don't really hold each other back.
00:47If one of us has a crazy idea, the other normally encourages it.
00:51And then we end up doing crazy things like buying a house in the Bahamas.
01:04That's all I do with the Bahamas.
01:2820 of them are inhabited, and at each island, it has its own vibe and own flavor.
01:33And even Spanish Wells is tiny, two miles long and a half mile wide.
01:39This island has so much to offer.
01:41Yeah, these houses are really, really cool.
01:44This is what you would consider like a Bahamian cottage, very historic.
01:48Yeah, I feel like we're in, like, Cape Cod or somewhere like that.
01:51It's so funny that you said that I actually call Spanish Wells the Nantucket of the island.
01:56Yeah, that makes sense.
01:58Spanish Wells is so magical.
01:59It's one of those islands you have to chase to get there.
02:02That's why the beaches are so quiet and so secluded.
02:05The water is so clear.
02:07It just goes from light blue to dark blue.

02:10I'm going to show you something so amazing it's going to blow your socks off.

02:20We've invested in real estate for the last 15 years, and so now we're leveraging some of the real estate

02:29But when Heather and I first got married, it was just us.
02:32We got to spend all of our time together, and now the busyness of owning our own businesses has kind
02:37of separated us.
02:38So I'm just excited to come to a place like Spanish Wells where I get to just spend more time

03:01This is the north part of Eleuthera, and then behind it would be the Devil's Backbone.
03:06During the 1600s, a lot of boats crashed off of the Devil's Backbone.
03:10That's actually how this place got settled.

09:32My family came from England, and they got in a bad storm and shipwrecked out on the famous
09:37Devil's Backbone in 1648.

09:40I can see why you guys would have stayed here for generations.

11:57But we're also 21 years old and had a lot more time, and we knew the area.

20:01experience this all the time and also like we're getting back to where we spend a ton of time together
20:08so i don't think we can go wrong with whatever house we choose
20:20the inventory is so limited on this island it's a small island there's not a lot of houses a lot

20:25the houses that we saw were out of our price range or needed a ton of work and so i
20:29feel very blessed and
20:30fortunate that we we found this house and it ended up being perfect for us i really wanted to be
20:37on the
20:38beach but this island is so small you're not far from a beach no matter where you are
20:45so buying a house in the bahamas has brought uh our whole family closer together spending time
20:50outside at the beach um it's just been really great for our kids we got oreo or coconut where are

20:56going to choose oreo and coconut that's a tough choice yeah after you've been together for 20 years
21:02this was just the thing that we needed to re spark and recharge
