Transcript
00:13I am the Father, I am the Son, I am the Holy Spirit. The Lord be with you. Dear friends,
00:21as a universal church, we are celebrating the feast of Saint Maria Goethe, a young saint who became a martyr
00:32and who chose forgiveness instead of hatred, who chose purity at the age of 11.
00:42So dear friends, let us come before God as we are. Let us acknowledge our littleness, our shortcomings, our weaknesses
00:49before God.
00:50As we prepare ourselves to celebrate these sacred mysteries.
00:56You were sent to heal the contrite of heart. Lord, have mercy.
01:01You came to call sinners. Christ, have mercy.
01:07You are seated at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us. Lord, have mercy.
01:13May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and lead us into life everlasting.
01:22Let us pray.
01:25O God, author of innocence and lover of chastity, who bestowed the grace of martyrdom on your handmaid,
01:36a virgin, a virgin, Saint Maria Goethe, in her youth.
01:42Grant, we pray, through her intercession, that as you gave her crown of the steadfastness,
01:51so we too may be firm in obeying your commandments.
01:57True Lord Jesus Christ, your son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God,
02:05forever and ever.
02:11The Lord is for the Lord.
02:12Reading from the 1st chapter of St. Paul to the Corinthians.
02:16The body is not meant to be for fornication, it is for the Lord.
02:22And the Lord for the body.
02:26God who raised the Lord from death, will by his power raise up us too.
02:33You know, surely, that your bodies are members, making up the body of Christ.
02:42Do you think I can take parts of Christ's body and join them to the body of a prostitute?
02:50Never.
02:52But anyone who is joined to the Lord is once prayed with him.
02:58Keep away from fornication.
03:00All the other sins are committed outside the body.
03:04But to fornicate is to sin against your own body.
03:09Your body, you know, is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you since you received him from
03:16God.
03:18You are not your own property.
03:21You have been bought and paid for.
03:24That is why you should use your body for the glory of God.
03:31The Word of the Lord.
03:33Your response.
03:51Your response.
03:54In your hands, O Lord, I commend my spirit.
03:58In your hands, I commend my spirit.
04:01It is you who will redeem me, Lord.
04:03As for me, I trust in the Lord.
04:06Let me be glad and rejoice in your love.
04:10Your response.
04:11In your hands, O Lord, I commend my spirit.
04:15My life is in your hands.
04:17Deliver me from the hands of those who hate me.
04:22Let your face shine on your side.
04:26Save me in your love.
04:28Your response.
04:29Your response.
04:30Into your hands, O Lord, I commend my spirit.
04:34Alleluia, alleluia.
04:36Blessed are they who stand firm when trials come.
04:40When they have stood the test, they will win the crown of life.
04:46Alleluia.
04:48The Lord be with you.
04:50Reading from the Holy Gospel according to John.
04:53Glory to you, O Lord.
04:57Jesus said to his disciples,
05:00I tell you most solemnly,
05:03unless a wheat grain falls on the ground and dies,
05:08it remains only a single grain.
05:11But if it dies, it yields a rich harvest.
05:16Anyone who loves his life will lose it.
05:19Anyone who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.
05:25If a person serves me, he must follow me.
05:30Wherever I am, my servant will be there too.
05:34If anyone serves me, my father will honor him.
05:39Brothers and sisters, the gospel of the Lord.
05:43Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
05:57Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation.
05:59For through your goodness, we have received this bread we offer you.
06:02Fruit of the earth and work of human hands.
06:05It will become for us a bread of life.
06:08Blessed be God forever.
06:27For through your goodness, we have received this bread we offer you.
06:31Fruit of the earth and work of human hands.
06:33It will become for us, our spiritual gift.
06:37Blessed be God forever.
06:40The humble sweet and different heart is
06:42not wash away from the equities and cleanse me from the sin.
06:54Pray, my friends, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the Almighty Father.
07:02The Lord has sacrificed it from your hands for the praise and glory of his name.
07:06For our good and good of God's holy church.
07:10As you proclaim your wonders, O Lord, in the Virgin, Blessed Maria Goretti,
07:19we humbly implore your majesty that as the merits are pleasing to you,
07:25so too our dutiful service may find favor in your sight.
07:31Through Christ our Lord.
07:34The Lord be with you.
07:37Lift up your hearts.
07:39Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
07:42It is truly right and just.
07:44Our duty and our salvation.
07:47Always and everywhere to give you thanks.
07:50Lord, Holy Father.
07:52Almighty and eternal God.
07:54For the blood of your blessed martyr, Maria Goretti.
07:58Pour out back Christ
08:01to glorify your name.
08:03Show forth your marvelous works by which in our weaknesses you perfect your power.
08:11And on the feeble bestow strength to bear your weaknesses through Christ our Lord.
08:17And so, with the powers of heaven, we worship you constantly on earth.
08:23And before your majesty, without end, we acclaim.
08:29Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of hosts.
08:33Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
08:35Hosanna in the highest.
08:37Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
08:40Hosanna in the highest.
08:47You are indeed holy, O Lord, and fount of all holiness.
08:51Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,
08:53by sending down your spirit upon them like a diva foe,
08:57so that they may become for us the body and the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
09:04At the time he was betrayed, he entered willingly into his passion.
09:08He took bread, giving thanks, broke it,
09:12and gave it to his disciples, saying,
09:15Take this, all of you, and eat of it.
09:19For this is my body, which will be given up for you.
09:35In a similar way, when supper was ended,
09:38he took the chalice, and once more given thanks,
09:41he gave it to his disciples, saying,
09:44Take this, all of you, and drink from it.
09:48For this is the chalice of my blood,
09:51the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
09:54which will be around for you and for many,
09:58for the forgiveness of sins.
10:01Do this in memory of me.
10:15The mystery of faith,
10:16when we proclaim your death, O Lord,
10:19and profess your resurrection,
10:21until you come again.
10:25Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection,
10:29we offer you, Lord, the bread of life,
10:32and the chalice of salvation.
10:35Giving thanks that you have held us worthy
10:38to be in your presence and minister to you.
10:42Humbly we pray,
10:43that partaking of the body and blood of Christ,
10:47we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
10:51Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world,
10:54and bring her to the fullness of charity,
10:58together with Leo, our Pope,
10:59and Charles, our Bishop,
11:01and all the clergy.
11:04Remember your servants,
11:06Molly and Gerard,
11:08whom you have called from this world to yourself,
11:12grant that they,
11:13who are united with your son,
11:15in a death like his,
11:17may be also one with him in his resurrection.
11:21Remember also our brothers and sisters,
11:23who have fallen asleep,
11:25in the hope of the resurrection,
11:27and all who have died in your mercy.
11:30Welcome them into the light of your face.
11:34Have mercy on us all,
11:36we pray,
11:36that with the blessed Virgin Mary,
11:38Mother of God,
11:39blessed Joseph,
11:41a spouse,
11:42with the blessed apostles,
11:44St. Maria Goethe,
11:45and all the saints,
11:47who have pleased you throughout the ages,
11:50we may merit to be coerous to eternal life,
11:53and may praise and glorify you,
11:56through your Son,
11:58Jesus Christ.
12:02Through him,
12:03and with him,
12:04and in him,
12:05O God,
12:06Almighty Father,
12:07in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
12:09all glory and honour is yours,
12:13forever and ever.
12:16Amen.
12:17At the Savior's command,
12:19and formed by divine teaching,
12:21we dare to pray.
12:23Our Father,
12:24God in heaven,
12:26hallowed be thy day.
12:27Thy kingdom come,
12:29thy will be done,
12:30honoured as it is in heaven.
12:32Give us this day,
12:34our daily bread,
12:35and forgive us our trespasses,
12:37as we forgive those,
12:39who trespass against us.
12:41And lead us,
12:43not into temptation,
12:44but deliver us,
12:46from evil.
12:47Deliver us,
12:48Lord,
12:48we pray,
12:48from every evil,
12:50graciously grant peace in our days,
12:53that by the help of your mercy,
12:55we may be always free from sin,
12:58and safe from all distress,
13:00as we await the present hope,

13:23for peace and unity,
13:25in accordance with your will,

13:27forever and ever.

13:32and as of each other,
13:33sign of peace.
