00:00So, in the lack of that information, what happens is, you deploy a part of that 50 lakh, say about
00:05you, decide I'll give 10 lakhs in blanket donation.
00:09So, your conscience is okay that you've done that, but it actually does not, in long term, it will not
00:14lead to a great impact.
00:16If I ask you to rate India's CSR activity and on, how much you're going to rate out of 10?
00:24Hmm, I would rate it a 6, 6.5, not more than that.
00:29Because, a lot of it has to now start getting reported.
00:38Any experience, sir?
00:40Yeah, so, for example, there are a lot of people who are doing CSR.
00:43So, let me talk about MSMEs here.
00:46You have MSMEs in India, with a 1000 crore turnover, with a 500 crore turnover.
00:52Now, I'll give you a small example.
00:53Let's say, there is a government SCZ, in a place in South India, where you and I have two small
01:00firms, and we have 50 lakhs of deployable resource for CSR.
01:07And, we want to do it in our local area community, where it benefits the local population, or where we
01:12operate upon.
01:14A 50 lakh, and you don't have access to Deloitte, KPMG, or any other organization.
01:20You're also skeptical that they will charge more, which they do.
01:25They'll charge more, and you don't know if innovation exists, or anybody else exists.
01:30So, in the lack of that information, what happens is, you deploy a part of that 50 lakhs here about
01:36you.
01:36Decide, I'll give 10 lakhs in blanket donation.
01:39So, your conscience is okay that you've done that, but it actually does not, in long term, it will not
01:45lead to a great impact.
01:46Now, imagine, both of us are MSME owners, and we have 50 lakhs deployable resource for CSR together.
01:52And now, we have 1 crore.
01:53When we decide 5 lakhs, we'll give it to a good firm, which will design a project, do the assessment,
01:59implement the project for us,
02:01and give us an impact report, and we would be confident enough that we have created positive impact in the
02:07lives of people.
02:09So, that segment is completely out of the way right now, and I think it's the way forward.
02:16MSMEs have to be given due respect and CSR.
02:21Allocations will go multifold.
02:23We often tend to only discuss the large cap companies.
02:27When we give examples, we forget what the potential.
02:30India's economic spine is its MSMEs.
02:34It's not only its large companies.
02:36Because these MSMEs are the suppliers to the large companies.
02:40Yeah.
02:41So, that's how you operate.
02:44That's how you go to realize how it works.
02:50It's not only your own business.
02:50It's not only your own business.
02:52It's not only your own business.
02:55It's not only your own business.
02:56It's not only your own business.
02:56It's not only your own business.
