00:00I want to begin with big breaking news coming in on a story that we've been tracking very, very closely
00:05here on India Today.
00:07I'm referring to the CBSC re-evaluation controversy.
00:11Now you've got Modi government cracking the whip, taking note of all the issues that have come to the fore.
00:18The CBSC chairman and the secretary have been transferred.
00:22Beyond that, an inquiry committee has been set up to probe the procurement of the OSM services by the CBSC,
00:29which is on-screen marking essentially.
00:31The biggest question mark has been over the OSM services by CBSC.
00:36It's in line with that, that the government has not just cracked the whip,
00:39but also has decided that there must be a detailed inquiry to figure out exactly what went wrong.
00:46India Today has been relentlessly pursuing the story and getting you every single update that's come in.
00:52Finally, the Modi government also cracking the whip.
00:54The CBSC chairman, the CBSC secretary, both have been transferred now.
01:05As we get you all the details of how the government now has taken note of what's happening,
01:11cracking the whip essentially,
01:13the inquiry committee has been set up to probe exactly what went wrong.
01:18In the meanwhile, the CBSC chairman, the CBSC secretary, both of them have been transferred.
01:24There have been serious questions asked at this point of the CBSC, of the Central Board of Secondary Education,
01:31on the manner in which they went ahead with the re-evaluation, with the OSM marking.
01:37And so amid that, the government has decided to crack the whip.
01:42Remember that there were technical glitches.
01:44Remember that there were issues with regards to the results that came out.
01:48It was students who, in fact, exposed the serious lapses, the serious glitches that took place.
01:54The CBSC, of course, has conceded kicking off an investigation on their own.
02:00But in the meanwhile, the government, too, has stepped in right now.
02:03The CBSC chairman, the CBSC secretary, both have been transferred.
02:07An in-house panel will now probe, in fact, an inquiry committee will now probe what exactly went wrong,
02:16particularly the process of OSM marking those services by the CBSC.
02:21Let me bring in Aishwarya Paliwal for more details on this.
02:24Aishwarya, the government taking note of all of the issues that students have raised right after the results were out.
02:30Many of these students chose to speak out on India today.
02:33But give us a sense of what really the government has done now.
02:37Well, you know, Akshita, let me tell you, this is something that the government has been looking at very, very
02:42keenly.
02:43In fact, let me also tell you what the government has now taken notes, taken action, and that's the reason
02:50why you're seeing it.
02:51...transfer is being done.
02:53From what I understand, Mr. Modi and his office, they were also very keenly looking at what exactly is happening.
03:00Because, you know, these kind of things, which are not once, but again and again coming to the fore,
03:05and also what we are looking at is the future of laps of students.
03:10That is at stake, and this is something which the government has been making very, very clear.
03:14This is something that they will not be tolerating, which is why you are seeing the centre now cracking the
03:18whip,
03:18and also sending out a very strong message.
03:20Let me tell you, you know, this is just the beginning.
03:22I think we will see more action being taken because the government believes that they need to get to the
03:26bottom of this
03:27and make sure that these kind of issues do not come up, these kind of glitches never, ever happen
03:33with regards when it comes to the life of students and when it comes to the future of students.
03:40You know, welcome move by the central government, considering all the controversy
03:44and the amount of suffering of students, essentially, who've largely been the whistleblowers also of this entire case.
03:50So it's a good step that we're seeing that the government has now taken note and decided to crack the
03:56whip right now.
03:57And let's just hope that all of the lapses, the glitches, the issues that have been found are identified,
04:03are highlighted, and that there is subsequent action, concrete action that's taken now by the central government
04:10because we know that an inquiry committee has also been set up in this regard.
