00:00Hello there my very good friends, today we are previewing, we are predicting Clash in Italy this Sunday for WWE,
00:06you don't need me to explain what predictions are, so we're just going to kick straight into this show with
00:11what I believe is the first match that's going to be shown live on ESPN before this goes behind its
00:15various paywalls.
00:16We're talking Cody Rhodes, we're talking Goonfer, we're talking the undisputed WWE Championship, a match that is the product of
00:26Paul Heyman doing a little bit of paid due if you will because of the little favour that Goonfer owed
00:33him.
00:33Paul Heyman is the assistant to the general manager in WWE in everything but job title itself, so this match
00:41is kind of, its existence was interesting to me because I figured it would be not on the immediate horizon
00:49if that makes a lot of sense.
00:50I figured we would, one day, one day, you get a big Cody Rhodes Goonfer feud, of course, in WWE,
00:56but I figured Goonfer would have been a bit more focused on retiring dudes, you know, for a little bit
01:01longer, or maybe just some other ways you could, I'm not complaining by the way, I think it'll be a
01:07really great match.
01:08No, because it's the biggest baby face in the company versus a jerk in K-Fabe, but it's really interesting
01:15to think what could come here because Goonfer's recent direction has been win at all costs, cheeky moves, referee distractions,
01:25roll-ups, cheating, just being a very dishonest man, so there are ways you can do that and he can
01:32beat Cody Rhodes, and actually I wouldn't have a problem if he beat Cody Rhodes clean, to be honest.
01:38Nothing against Cody, I'm a big Goonfer Gooner, if you will. But yeah, I think it's quite a hard match
01:45to call, to be honest.
01:46Yeah, mamma mia, I'm really excited for this card, and...
01:50You've been waiting about three minutes to say that, I'd love to bet, yeah.
01:54And like you say, there's some matches on this card that you think that's fairly straightforward, this one though, I
02:00completely echo what you say in terms of, you're doing it now.
02:04Yeah, the general consensus was meant to be post-WrestleMania, it was going to be Gunther and LA Knight in
02:08a sort of program perhaps, and all of a sudden now he's on SmackDown and he's going after Cody Rhodes.
02:16My head says it's probably Cody retaining, but yeah, there's a part of me that thinks, this is such a
02:24wild shout with the paper news we've got coming up on, no offence to Turin, but like, if you were
02:31going to do this sort of seismic match, you'd think it'd be one of the big four.
02:35You'd think so.
02:36But it makes sense, obviously, with it being a European day to have Gunther on the card.
02:39Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely.
02:42So there's a bit of me that might think, they might pull a shock here, they might just mix things
02:46up, mate, because the general consensus was that Cody was probably going to lose the title at WrestleMania to Randy
02:53Orton before all the fan backlash, so maybe they just pivoted with that.
02:57Yeah, I'm going to go with Goonfer.
02:58However, I just think it's a bit more interesting.
03:01Yeah.
03:02Not that Cody's boring or not interesting or anything like that, just a little bit of a shake-up, and
03:08it's good for a man who's going to complain about him having a top title.
03:12I'll go with Cody, and then Gunther realises, oh, bollocks, I'm in the back of the queue now.
03:17Yeah.
03:17How can I get myself back at the front, retire Brock Lesnar in Minnesota?
03:24Boom.
03:24There you go.
03:25Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
03:27Who's winning that match?
03:28Yeah, I think it's the hardest one for me to call that on this entire card.
03:32Yeah, it's not easy, and that's good, that's a credit to how it's been put together.
03:36Really enjoyed the build of this.
03:37Next up, we've got the WWE Women's Championship.
03:39It's a rematch between Rhea Ripley and Jade Cargill, a WrestleMania rematch.
03:45For the ages.
03:46Will Jade utilise her baddies to regain that title for you?
03:51No, I think Rhea Ripley's going over, so I'm just going to give you my prediction immediately.
03:56I think that Rhea Ripley's going over.
03:58I just think, like, I did enjoy the Jade Cargill reign, and I like the character, I like the baddies,
04:05whatever actual name they're going to be.
04:08But I don't think you go to the trouble of building to a coronation like the one Rhea Ripley had
04:12at WrestleMania if you're not in it for the long term.
04:14And that really is the kind of strongest read that I have on this.
04:19Yes.
04:19That's what I think.
04:20Yeah, I've got to say, like, there's a version of events that I can see where the baddies interfere and
04:24Jade regains the title, and you make this a trilogy and run it back at Night of Champions.
04:28But I think Rhea Ripley, you know, you and I were both there lucky enough to be in Allegiant Stadium
04:32to hear and see how that crowd reacted to Rhea.
04:35And it was like, you don't take that title off her with that sort of a reaction right now unless
04:40something special, Jessie Jane, comes along.
04:43So I think Jade Cargill...
04:45Nikita Lyons.
04:46I think Jade Cargill utilizes the baddies, and you think, oh, no, she's going to win.
04:51And I think this new sort of friendship that's developed between Rhea, Charlotte, and Alexa...
04:59That neutralizes.
05:00Yeah, bears them through here, but I wouldn't rule out down the road Charlotte and Rhea.
05:05And I think that running that back, that WrestleMania match back down the road would be fascinating,
05:10because Charlotte's just couldn't lose to tell everyone to suck it at the moment.
05:14She's feeling herself at the moment, and it's making for some really entertaining TV.
05:19I totally agree. Totally agree.
05:20I just, I like Jade a lot, but I feel like this is...
05:24I don't really feel like this is the most necessary thing on the card, but I have enjoyed the build,
05:29and I do think it'll be good.
05:30It feels a bit like a dress rehearsal, doesn't it?
05:32Weirdly, despite the megastar status of Jade Cargill.
05:36A dress rehearsal for another three-person group coming up against Rhea Ripley,
05:39because I think J.C. Jane down the road versus Rhea's is going to be really, really good stuff.
05:44I'm so happy with how Fatal Influence has moved up from NXT.
05:47It started really well.
05:48It should probably be seen as the model call-up in the modern era, certainly.
05:55Or at least this year.
05:56This year could be an era. Why not?
05:59Every year's an era.
06:00Anything can be an era.
06:01Every era.
06:02Right, let's talk about Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu next.
06:05Right, so this is tribal combat for the World Heavyweight Championship, obviously.
06:11There are various implications beyond titles.
06:14There are people who are going to acknowledge each other, people who are going to bend the knee, kiss the
06:18ring, all of that good stuff.
06:21This is going to be the most sports entertainment match on the show.
06:25Yeah.
06:26Because it's a dressed-up plunder match in a lot of ways, these always are.
06:31And also, look, it's a Roman Reigns title fight, baby.
06:34It's going to have all the bells and whistles.
06:36It's going to have all the facial expressions and all the interferences and stuff like that.
06:41Monologuing between stuff, yeah.
06:42So it has the makings of a classic example of the modern WWE style.
06:49The X factor in it is Jacob because he's such a dangerous-feeling guy in promos, in matches, in segments.
06:58That I'm actually really looking forward to the kind of, the battle, the aesthetic, but this is so pretentious, I'm
07:05sorry.
07:05But the aesthetic battle of that kind of super moment-y sports entertainment, tribal combat, and this seething beast of
07:16a wrestler.
07:17I think this is fascinating.
07:18Yeah, it is.
07:20I'm a huge fan of this because it involves several of my favourite things, despite the problematic history of tribal
07:27combat.
07:27And the first one, the first Roman Reigns-Jacob Part 2 match was pretty good.
07:32Exactly.
07:34I don't know if you heard that.
07:35I heard it was quite good.
07:37It was good.
07:38I do think some people have gone into this thinking this is bloodline rules.
07:42It's not.
07:43It's tribal combat.
07:43It's a lot worse.
07:45In both senses.
07:46In terms of the track record.
07:48Nevertheless, I think I'm the highest on this in the entire office because it's, like I say, bloodline stuff.
07:55I still love the bloodline and any related storylines.
07:58Not any.
07:59Most related storylines to it.
08:01And number two is my favourite thing I missed out on over in AEW with Mark Briscoe, so I'm hoping
08:08to get it here.
08:09And that is Indentured Servitude.
08:11I need to see it.
08:12I think it's going to work wonders for Jacob long term.
08:16Because I thought it was a brave call to have him be their sort of first defence.
08:19Because often it's Kane for people coming off the back of a big title.
08:23Imagine if it was Kane.
08:26Poor Kane or Lance Archer in AEW used to be like, there you go.
08:29An easy first defence.
08:31If it was in Milan, Kane plays in AC Milan's colours.
08:34And he's Spanish.
08:36He was born in Spain.
08:37So you're near, yeah, European.
08:39Yeah, it's across a whole ocean.
08:41But never mind.
08:43But nevertheless, yeah, I think Roman probably, I don't know exactly the ins and outs of the
08:49Usos getting involved with this or not.
08:50Yeah.
08:51But I do feel like it's going to be another example of like, they're going back to their
08:56old ways.
08:57Yes, sir.
08:57Except people will be like, oh, typical.
08:59My bloodline's back.
09:00Except now they've got Jacob bloody Fatu as part of it getting bossed around by Roman Reigns.
09:04But yeah, like you say, to look back on what they did previously, add more, yes, more drama,
09:11but also more insane bumps that they're going to take.
09:15I'm excited for this one.
09:16Yeah, like I was being a fart earlier, but the first match was great.
09:20So very excited for it.
09:22I will say, I agree, Roman Reigns is going to win this end.
09:25We're going to have, I don't know, maybe until next year's WrestleMania.
09:29Who knows?
09:29Maybe that's how long that story will take.
09:31Could be.
09:32I'd be patient with it, man.
09:33And too many storylines these days are over in a flash.
09:37We'll talk about Brock Lesnar in a bit, actually.
09:39Yeah, I was going to say, I'm glad I'd have Obi-Fermi take it off him at SummerSlam.
09:44But in the words of One Direction, they need a little patience with this one.
09:52I genuinely, for a split second, I was like, I don't remember them doing that.
09:55Yeah, yeah, there was the Stardust soundtrack, right?
09:58That's right.
09:59Neil Gaiman movie.
10:00Gary Barlow.
10:02One Direction.
10:02All that good stuff.
10:03Anyway.
10:04Let's talk about the Women's Intercontinental Championship.
10:08Becky Lynch versus Sol Ruka.
10:10I have no idea what the bloody hell they were doing at Saturday night's main event, but things can only
10:14get better.
10:15Yeah, in the words of the M people?
10:18Is that right?
10:19No.
10:19Who is it?
10:20D-Ream.
10:21D-Ream.
10:21M people are of that era.
10:23What did the M people have?
10:24One night in heaven.
10:25One night in heaven.
10:26I don't remember that at all.
10:28Heather Smalls got a hell of a set of pipes on her.
10:30Sorry, Heather Smalls.
10:32I love 90s weird pop music.
10:35Yeah, it's good stuff.
10:36Shaka Khan is my personal favourite.
10:38The Coors.
10:39The Coors.
10:40Jim.
10:41Jim Coors.
10:41Yeah, he's lucky he's travelling out with those pretty girls, isn't he?
10:43That's his sister, isn't he?
10:49What are we talking about?
10:51Becky Lynch.
10:51Becky Lynch and Sol Ruka.
10:52Becky Lynch.
10:53Women's IC title.
10:54Becky Lynch versus Sol Ruka.
10:57Sorry, Becky Lynch and Sol Ruka.
11:01I'm kind of keeping the Sol Ruka call up at a little bit of arm's length so far, because
11:06I feel like there's some elements with it that I felt could have been done a little
11:10bit better, but I think it's also too early to go, this is bad or anything like that.
11:15And obviously, not the best of luck at Saturday night's main event on the performance or the
11:21booking side, but that's okay.
11:22It's wrestling.
11:23Sometimes things go wrong.
11:25So I really hope they have the opportunity to open up a bit more here and have a bit
11:29more time to play with, have a chance for Sol Ruka to show some of the crazy things that
11:36she can do in the ring.
11:36Because she had a hell of a showcase at the Rumble.
11:39She was, what, third from last elimination?
11:41She finished third, basically.
11:42Yeah, she had a long run.
11:43Long run.
11:44So we know she can give.
11:46We've talked ad infinitum about how Becky Lynch works with these NXT talents and makes
11:51them exponentially better.
11:53And, like, the likes of AJ Lee coming back.
11:56Becky Lynch is the safe pair of hands.
11:59I'm going for a shock here.
12:00I'm going Sol Ruka leaves this.
12:02That'd be her first win, like, non-DQ win.
12:05You know what?
12:05I'll go with that as well because I feel like she'd really benefit from it, especially after
12:09Saturday night's main event.
12:11Just give her the rocket and see what happens.
12:14Yeah.
12:14Look, it's the second title in this division, so you can take risks with it.
12:19She's only been on the main roster for a few weeks.
12:22Sod it.
12:22Give it a go.
12:23Why not?
12:23See what happens.
12:24Yeah.
12:24I think it's really exciting.
12:25I think, you know, Becky Lynch can either go away or reposition herself as a potential
12:31challenger for Liv Morgan or Oxam Perez down the road.
12:36And you can obviously run it back.
12:38I think, you know, look at what Becky did with the likes of Light of Valkyria and Tiff as
12:47well.
12:47Like, the longer these girls are in the ring with her, it only makes them better.
12:52Definitely.
12:52And yeah, I sort of echo your sentiments with regards to Sol Ruka.
12:57I think the rumble appearances and stuff like that aside, it's not the way that I would
13:03have booked it.
13:04Same.
13:05But nevertheless, like you say, I think that all would be forgotten if she leaves Italy
13:08with the IC title.
13:09Yeah.
13:10I think she could use a rocket strap, and I feel like beating Becky Lynch here would give
13:15her that.
13:15So why not?
13:16I think it's a bit more interesting as well.
13:17Yeah.
13:18Yeah.
13:18Like, the idea, it's also a cool thing.
13:21Your first ever pinfall victory, I'm fairly certain, on the main roster is winning a title.
13:27Pretty solid, isn't it?
13:28Because you won via DQ, I think.
13:31It's like S.E. Rios winning the light heavyweight title from Gilbert.
13:35Yeah, I love S.E. Rios.
13:36You're my guy.
13:36If you're of the S.E. Rios channel for Sunday Night Heat, people know.
13:40If you know, if you're part of that crew, you are my people.
13:43That's how it works.
13:44Yeah, I was a big, big wrestling fan growing up.
13:45Oh, did your parents have Sky?
13:46No.
13:46No, Channel 4, mate.
13:48Yeah, Channel 4.
13:48Royal Rumble on Channel 4.
13:50Oh, those clips of Raw and Smackdown sure do look good.
13:53Anyway, back to S.E. Rios.
13:55Yeah, where'd you get that?
13:56Sky, what's that?
13:57Gee whiz.
13:57Yeah.
13:58That's expensive.
13:59I need to get a long play tape to record WrestleMania when it was on Channel 4, I remember that.
14:03Yeah, and then they had the advert breaks in the middle of it and stuff, and I was like,
14:07cool, hey, missed the finish to the main event.
14:09You need to see the wrestling.
14:10I need to see an advert for Fissile Windows Aberdeen.
14:13You ever heard them before?
14:14No, I'm thinking, if you buy one, you get one free, that's not that one, is it?
14:16No, Fissile Windows Aberdeen, you will not have ever heard, because it's only on Aberdeen
14:21local radio stations, but they have an iconic jingle.
14:24Iconic jingle.
14:24I'll play it for you later.
14:25Okay.
14:26I won't bore the audience anymore, because we're going to talk about Obafemi.
14:29I actually thought this was, for some reason, my brain put this on the ESPN section of the
14:34show yesterday when we did the news.
14:36That's not true.
14:37It's last on Wikipedia, which is why we were talking about it last.
14:40It's not going to main event.
14:41Tribal Combat is going to main event.
14:42Yeah, it's not going to main event, probably, but we just go on Wikipedia order, baby.
14:46It's our main event, I think.
14:47It is.
14:48It's got a lot riding on this.
14:49Yeah, it is.
14:50So, it's actually, in terms of the result, it's probably the match I'm most invested
14:54in, because I don't want Brock Lesnar to win.
14:57I don't want some 50-50, we have to go to a third situation with this.
15:00I feel like the WrestleMania one was so effective.
15:05It was so effective that, for me, you undermine that if you have a Brock win, even if he does
15:11cheat or do some tomfoolery to get there.
15:15What I'm doing here, mate, is I'm saying Obafemi's going to beat him even quicker in
15:19two minutes.
15:19Wow.
15:20That's what I'm saying.
15:21Yeah, I think back to Night 2 of WrestleMania, and I remember us going in, having watched
15:28Night 1 in a bar, and had a good time as a group of mates watching wrestling, but obviously
15:32understood all the backlash that Night 1 had got.
15:35And I remember going in and looking at the card, and going, like, right, we've got Punk
15:39and Roman in the main event, we've got Trick and Sami, we've got this really exciting card
15:43to come.
15:44I think the whole night hinged on what happened to Oba and Brock, didn't it?
15:48In terms of, like, if Brock had won, everyone would have been like, what's the point?
15:52And I think the atmosphere would have really gone sour.
15:55With what happened, including the retirement, it felt like, oh, here we go, now we're at
16:02WrestleMania.
16:02Yeah, yeah, yeah.
16:03It's been completely undercut, like you say, with Brock's return, and the, I somewhat get
16:08the justification.
16:09It doesn't make sense in terms of, like, if you're actually looking at it, if you take
16:12a step back.
16:13But the idea of Brock being like, I retired in a moment because I thought he couldn't
16:17beat me, and then I took some time to myself and went, no, bollocks, I'll come back and
16:19kick his ass.
16:20But I get that.
16:21It just, you know, we all anticipated Brock coming back after Mania for one last hurrah,
16:27but not three weeks later or whatever it was.
16:30Yeah, yeah.
16:30It was very quick.
16:31So it's conspicuous that they're doing it here.
16:33So it would be weird for him to lose two in a row, unless it's something really dramatic
16:37like that.
16:38And then he goes away and you get to, hopefully, Gunther Brock.
16:42I just don't see a booking scenario where Obafemi losing is good.
16:46Like, I, I think the only way I will accept, not like, accept it, and I think that's what
16:51my prediction is going to be, is some sort of Brock Lesnar shenanigans, where he beats
16:56him, but it's like, he beat him, but at Night of Champions, which would make sense, a big
17:01Saudi payday for Brock, Obafemi's going to kick his ass, they're like, stipping it up
17:06or whatever.
17:07I think that's maybe the thing I'm settling on now, the more I talk about it.
17:10The problem I have with that is that he already kicked his ass.
17:12So it's kind of like, if you're running it back, to me, he just kind of needs to do
17:16it straight again.
17:17Because like, I, I, I don't know, man.
17:20It's like, I'm, I don't want Brock Lesnar and Obafemi to be focused on shenanigans.
17:25I want it to be focused on massive buggers kicking the hell out of each other.
17:30Big bastards.
17:31Like I said, look, man, after, after Mania and after this sort of first weeks of the
17:36Open Challenge, which I thought were going really well, I was like, just keep doing this
17:42with him until Roman Reigns suddenly has to, has to accept the Open Challenge of Oba and
17:48then switch the title up.
17:50It's almost like maybe that was pie in the sky dream in here, but I will go for, I think
17:57Brock's, I think Brock's winning as well.
18:00I just don't want to see it.
18:01Um, I think Oba, it felt, I feel nervous for, for Oba.
18:05It's just like, Obafemi should not lose yet.
18:08He should not, it's just not corrugable in my head that he would lose a match here.
18:14And I don't care if it's a, I'd like him to kick out of an F5 at one.
18:17Yeah, me too.
18:18Brock hits an F5, Obafemi kicks out and then wins a second later.
18:22I'd kind of enjoy that.
18:24Do you reckon Obafemi could F5 Brock?
18:26Yeah, why not?
18:27That's a great visual, isn't it?
18:28Because he does, he does the sort of pizza toss thing.
18:31Yeah, it's very similar, very similar move.
18:33Maybe Brock's just in a very giving mood on the tail end of his career.
18:36Who knows?
18:37Maybe.
18:37I'm, I'm, I'm going to be really excited to watch it and then party with Santino Marella
18:42at Sweet Chin Disco afterwards.
18:44Digger's already sold out, we can join us on the Monday.
18:46Yeah.
18:46Yeah, double.
18:47Are you in the same city on the Monday?
18:48Yeah, we're sticking in Turin, same place.
18:51If you are in Turin, I don't have any more rhymes than word.
18:55Well, who wouldn't want to party with me and Santino Marella?
18:59I mean, half of that equation sounds all right, it's not you.
19:04It's very fair.
19:06Very fair indeed, but we are going to be dropping the, you're going to be dropping Obafemi's
19:09music.
19:10Maybe he'll show up.
19:11Yeah.
19:12Open challenge to Obafemi come to Sweet Chin Disco.
19:14Not an invite, it's a challenge.
19:16He wants, you want to fight Obafemi in Italy.
19:18If he wants to bring it, I'll, I'll pick up the leftovers after Brock's finished with him.
19:21Okay, so there's a difference between fighting Will Osprey, which you would also lose, and
19:25fighting a man who's six foot five or something.
19:29Dance off, actually, I've challenged him to.
19:30Dance off, all right.
19:31All right, sounds good.
19:32Sounds good.
19:33Let's go.
19:34Oh, well.
19:34You might, I don't know, can Obafemi dance?
19:36He can strut.
19:38He sure can strut.
19:39All right.
19:40I hope he beats Brock again.
19:41It'd be funny if he beats him in a quicker time.
19:43I like that pitch.
19:44It'd be funny if he, I don't know, I've got nothing.
19:47I'm out of, I'm out.
19:48Throws him out of the stadium.
19:49In the words of Bewitched, I'm all out of love.
19:52Who's that?
19:52Who was that?
19:54I'm so laughing without you.
19:56Oh, that's Anastasia.
19:58Anastasia.
19:58It's not even 90s, really, is she?
20:00Yeah, borderline, isn't she?
20:02Yeah, all right.

20:04Well.
20:05Well, well, well.
