00:08Here we bring you India's most impactful CSR initiatives, breakthrough partnerships
00:12and key updates. So let's get started with today's top stories.
00:19Stories. Our first story. Axis Bank highlights CSR funding gap in northeast India.
00:26Axis Bank has highlighted the unequal distribution of corporate social responsibility funding across
00:31India, stating that only a small fraction of CSR investments currently reach the northeastern
00:37region of the country. Speaking to business world, Abhijit Agarwal, Senior Vice President and Head
00:43of Sustainability and CSR at Axis Bank, said the bank has expanded its initiatives in remote and
00:49underserved regions through programs such as Axis Dilse Open. The initiative initially started in
00:55Leh Ladakh and later expanded into northeast India, tribal belts of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand
01:01and Odisha. Axis Bank stated that its CSR initiatives focus on multiple sectors including
01:07rural livelihoods, education, healthcare, environment conservation and financial inclusion. The bank
01:13is currently working towards supporting 4 million livelihoods by the year 2032 through the Axis
01:18Bank Foundation and its partner organizations. The bank also highlighted collaborations with
01:24institutions including Indian Institute of Science, Bits Pilani and IRMA to strengthen research,
01:30innovation and education systems. Moving ahead to our next story. MCD plans CSR-backed dog shelter
01:36in Dwarka. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi, also known as MCD, is close to finalizing a proposal
01:42for a CSR-backed dog shelter in Dwarka Sector 29. According to officials, a private multinational
01:49conglomerate has proposed to develop the shelter under its Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative.
01:55The civic body is also planning to increase designated feeding points for stray dogs across Delhi.
02:00At present, Delhi has nearly 700 designated feeding points and authorities have directed officials to
02:06substantially expand this number. The MCD is additionally working on a euthanasia protocol aligned with
02:12Supreme Court guidelines and plans to develop more shelters and kennels for aggressive stray dogs.
02:17Officials stated that the civic body has allocated separate budgets for stray dog management initiatives,
02:23including sterilization programs, microchipping and shelter development.
02:27The initiative aims to improve animal welfare, public safety and urban stray dog management across
02:33the national capital. Now, let's take a look at our next story.
02:37CSR leaders discuss inclusive development in Jharkhand.
02:40A strategic dialogue bringing together some of India's leading CSR foundations and corporate
02:45partners was recently organized in Mumbai by the Transform Rural India Foundation and the
02:51BridgeSpan Group. The discussion included participation from organizations such as Tata Trusts, Adani Foundation,
02:57Reliance Foundation, Axis Bank Foundation and HDFC Foundation.
03:01The dialogue focused on developing scalable and innovative solutions for transformational change in
03:06Jharkhand. Key areas of discussion included women empowerment, livelihoods, nutrition, education and
03:12community-led development. The initiative aimed to strengthen corporate foundations, philanthropic
03:17institutions and grassroots organizations to accelerate sustainable development in the state.
03:22Let's dive into the next story. Experts stress stronger CSR role in nutrition education.
03:29Experts and development practitioners have emphasized the growing importance of corporate social responsibility
03:34and philanthropic foundations in strengthening nutrition education and long-term public health outcomes in India.
03:41Discussions at the Nutrition Conclave 2026 highlighted that India continues to face a dual burden of
03:47undernutrition and obesity among children and adolescents. According to recent national survey data,
03:54more than 35% of children under five remain stunted while millions continue to suffer from malnutrition
04:00and micronutrient deficiencies. Experts noted that although India has expanded initiatives such as
04:06portion abhiyan and school meal programs, long-term investments in nutrition awareness, behavior change
04:12and community education remain limited. The conclave also highlighted the need for evidence-based
04:18interventions, stronger data systems and sustained CSR investments that go beyond short-term food
04:25distribution programs. Participants emphasized that nutrition should be viewed as a long-term investment
04:31in human capital and national development.
04:34And now presenting today's final story, Feenovation's Road Safety Awareness Project promoted safer roads
04:40across Uttar Pradesh. Feenovation successfully implemented a large-scale road safety awareness project
04:47across seven cities in Uttar Pradesh. The initiative was carried out in Agra, Lucknow,
04:52Gorakpur, Merat, Kanpur, Prayagraj and Varanasi with the objective of promoting safer road practices
04:58and reducing accident-related injuries. The project directly benefited around 35,000 residents and
05:05indirectly reached nearly 1,75,000 individuals through awareness campaigns and community engagement
05:11activities. As part of the intervention, road safety signage was installed, traffic kiosks were
05:17developed and road safety barricades were distributed in key locations. The project also included road
05:23shows and awareness campaigns aimed at encouraging responsible road behavior among commuters and local
05:29communities. As the implementing partner, CCSC played an important role in project management, stakeholder
05:35coordination, infrastructure deployment and monitoring activities. The initiative reflected Feenovation's
05:41continued commitment towards public awareness, community safety and sustainable social impact.
