Chief Secretary Farley Augustine is not at all happy with the handling of the case of missing two-year-old Angelo Tobias-Plaza by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
Augustine told TV6 News he expected better. More from Elizabeth Williams.

00:00This case was not properly managed from the get-go. I am not satisfied with how the TTPS managed this
00:11case.
00:12I feel as though justice is not being sealed. I feel as though justice is still delayed.
00:20Mr. Agustin said the first 48 hours of infant Angelo missing were critical in the investigation.
00:27The first, perhaps, 48 hours or so of this entire case was just not handled well, in my opinion.
00:36I will not go into greater details because I don't want it to be seen as though a public official
00:46is eroding confidence in the TTPS, but certainly I expect better.
00:54He said as a father, it is hard for him to think about losing his daughter, and the length of
01:00time it took the parents to be questioned by police in the matter leaves a lot to be desired.
01:07How do you lose a two-year-old in such an awfully spectacular manner?
01:16It is beyond me, and it is beyond me what a two-year-old could do, an adult, that would
01:24make an adult want to get rid of a two-year-old.
01:27It is a two-year-old.
01:29And subsequent to the activity, I don't understand why we didn't much earlier call the parents to account for the
01:40child.
01:42Mr. Agustin said he could understand the frustration of the public in them also being dissatisfied.
01:48This is a two-year-old. A two-year-old is not like $100 from a wallet that was missing.
01:55It's not a car key. This is a whole human being that we cannot give account for.
02:03And Tobago and Tobago and Tobago have every right to be dissatisfied, to be incensed by how this entire case
02:11was managed.
02:12He said lessons can be learned in the matter by the TTPS, as better is expected.
02:18There are some lessons to be learned by the TTPS in this case, and how they perhaps should not manage
02:26a case of this later, because we do expect better from the TTPS.
02:32Stepfather of two-year-old Angelo Tobias Plaza, Shannon Miller, has been charged with the murder of the child.
02:39Since being reported missing on May 11th, two-year-old Angelo remains missing.
02:46The child's mother, Khalifa Tobias, has since been released along with five others without charge.
02:52Elizabeth Williams, TV6 News.
