00:00117. A declaration of disassociation from God and His Messenger to those with whom you had made a treaty among the polytheists.
00:13118. So travel freely throughout the land for four months, and know that you cannot escape God, and that God will disgrace the disbelievers.
00:28119. And a proclamation from God and His Messenger to the people on the day of the greater pilgrimage that God is free from obligation to the polytheists, and so is His Messenger.
00:46110. If you repent, it is better for you; but if you turn away, know that you cannot escape God. And give tidings to those who disbelieve of a painful punishment.
01:06111. Except for those with whom you made a treaty among the polytheists and who have not failed you in anything nor supported anyone against you, so fulfill their treaty to them until its term.
01:29God loves the righteous.
01:33112. So when the sacred months have passed, kill the polytheists wherever you find them, capture them, dig their graves, and lie in wait for them at every place of ambush.
01:48113. But if they repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, then let them go on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
02:02114. And if any of the polytheists seeks your protection, then grant him protection so that he may hear the word of God. Then escort him to a place of safety. That is because they are a people who do not know.
02:22115. How can the polytheists have a treaty with God and His Messenger, except for those with whom you made a treaty at the Sacred Mosque? So long as they remain true to you, remain true to them.
02:41God loves those who are righteous.
02:48116. How can they, when even if they were to prevail over you, would not respect any treaty or covenant with you? They appease you with their mouths, but their hearts refuse, and most of them are transgressors.
03:07117. They exchanged the verses of God for a paltry price and averted people from His way. Indeed, evil was what they were doing.
03:23118. They do not respect any treaty or covenant with a believer; it is they who are the transgressors.
03:35119. But if they repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, then they are your brothers in faith.
03:45110. And We explain the verses for a people who know.
03:51111. And if they break their oaths after their covenant and attack your religion, then fight the leaders of disbelief.
04:06112. They have no faith; perhaps they will desist.
04:14113. Will you not fight a people who broke their oaths and plotted to expel the Messenger, and who attacked you first? Do you fear them? But God is more worthy of your fear, if you are truly believers.
04:39believers
04:40114. Fight them; Allah will punish them by your hands and disgrace them and give you victory over them and heal the breasts of a believing people.
04:54115. And the anger in their hearts will vanish. And God will accept the repentance of whomever He wills. And God is Knowing and Wise.
05:08116. Or do you think that you will be left alone while Allah has not yet made evident those among you who strive in His cause and do not take as allies other than Allah, His Messenger, and the believers?
05:26And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.
05:32117. It was not for the polytheists to maintain the mosques of God while they themselves bear witness against themselves by their desolation. Those are the ones whose deeds have become worthless, and in the Fire they will abide eternally.
05:53118. Only those who believe in God and the Last Day, establish prayer, pay zakah, and fear none but God should maintain the mosques of God. Perhaps those will be among the righteous.
06:14That they be among the guided
06:17119. Do you consider providing water for the pilgrims and maintaining the Sacred Mosque equal to the deeds of those who believe in God and the Last Day and strive in the cause of God? They are not equal in the sight of God.
06:39And God does not guide the wrongdoing people.
06:44110. Those who believed and emigrated and struggled in the cause of God with their wealth and their lives are greater in rank in the sight of God. And it is they who are the successful.
07:05111. Their Lord gives them glad tidings of mercy from Him, and acceptance, and gardens for them wherein is lasting bliss.
07:19112. They will abide therein forever. Indeed, with Allah is a great reward.
07:31113. O you who have believed, do not take your fathers or your brothers as allies if they have preferred disbelief over belief.
07:49114. And whoever among you allies with them - it is they who are the wrongdoers.
07:59115. Say, "If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your relatives, wealth which you have acquired, trade which you fear may decline, and dwellings..."
08:20116. And dwellings you are content with are more beloved to you than God and His Messenger and striving in His cause. So wait until God brings about His command. And God does not guide the people.
08:42The wicked
08:43117. God has already given you victory in many battles, and on the day of Hunayn, when your great numbers pleased you, but they availed you nothing, and the earth became constricted for you because of what you had.
09:07You welcomed us and then turned away.
09:12118. Then God sent down His tranquility upon His Messenger and upon the believers and sent down forces you did not see and punished those who disbelieved. That is the recompense of the disbelievers.
09:33119. Then God will accept the repentance of whomever He wills after that, and God is Forgiving and Merciful.
09:46110. O you who have believed, indeed the polytheists are unclean, so let them not approach al-Masjid al-Haram after this year of theirs. And if you fear poverty, He will enrich you.
10:08God willing, by His grace
10:14111. Indeed, God is All-Knowing, All-Wise
10:20112. Fight those who do not believe in God or the Last Day, nor do they forbid what God and His Messenger have forbidden, nor do they follow the religion.
10:35113. And those who were given the Scripture will not embrace the true religion until they pay the jizya willingly while being humbled.
10:50114. The Jews say, “Ezra is the son of God,” and the Christians say, “The Messiah is the son of God.” That is what they say with their mouths, imitating the saying of those who disbelieved before.
11:11So God has destroyed them; indeed, they are deluded.
11:17115. They have taken their rabbis and monks as lords besides God and the Messiah, the son of Mary, though they were not commanded except to worship one God.
11:37116. There is no god but He, exalted is He above what they associate with Him.
11:47117. They want to extinguish the light of God with their mouths, but God refuses except to perfect His light, even if the disbelievers dislike it.
12:03118. It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to make it prevail over all other religions, even though the polytheists may dislike it.
12:17119. O you who have believed, indeed many of the rabbis and monks devour people's wealth unjustly and avert [them] from the way of Allah
12:37110. And those who hoard gold and silver and do not spend it in the cause of God - give them tidings of a painful punishment.
12:51111. On the Day when it will be heated in the fire of Hell and their foreheads, sides, and backs will be branded with it
13:02112. This is what you have stored up for yourselves; so taste what you have been storing up.
13:11113. Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve months in the register of Allah [i.e., His decree] from the day He created the heavens and the earth; of these, four are sacred.
13:28114. That is the upright religion
13:32115. So do not wrong yourselves therein, and fight the polytheists collectively as they fight you collectively. And know that God is with the righteous.
13:57116. The intercalation is only an increase in disbelief by which those who disbelieve are led astray. They make it lawful one year and unlawful another to make it conform to the number of months which God has made unlawful, so that they may make lawful what God has made unlawful.
14:22What God has forbidden
14:24117. Their evil deeds have been made attractive to them, and God does not guide the disbelieving people.
14:34118. O you who have believed, what is [the matter] with you that, when you are told to flee in the cause of Allah, you cling heavily to the earth?
14:48119. Are you content with the life of this world rather than the Hereafter? But the enjoyment of this worldly life compared to the Hereafter is but little.
15:02110. If you do not march forth, He will punish you with a painful punishment and replace you with another people, and you will not harm Him at all. And Allah is over all things competent.
15:21111. If you do not aid him, Allah has already aided him when those who disbelieved expelled him, the second of two, when they were in the cave, when he said to his companion, “Do not…”
15:35Do not grieve, for God is with us.
15:39112. Then God sent down His tranquility upon him and supported him with forces you did not see and made the word of those who disbelieved the lowest.
15:52113. The word of God is supreme, and God is Mighty and Wise.
16:00114. Go forth, whether light or heavy, and strive with your wealth and your lives in the cause of Allah. That is better for you, if you only knew.
16:19115. If it had been an easy opportunity and a short journey, they would have followed you, but the distance was too great for them. And they will swear by God, "If we could, we would have gone out with you," thus destroying themselves.
16:43God knows that they are liars.
16:48116. May God forgive you for giving them permission, until it becomes clear to you who are truthful and you know who are liars.
17:02117. They do not ask permission, like those who believe in God and the Last Day, to strive with their wealth and their lives. And God is Knowing of the righteous.
17:23118. They only ask permission, like those who do not believe in God and the Last Day, and whose hearts are filled with doubt, so they waver in their doubt.
17:41119. If they had wanted to have sex, they would have made preparations for it, but God disliked their sending them out, so He made them stay behind. It was said, "They stayed behind with those who stayed behind."
18:00110. If they had gone out with you, they would not have increased you except in confusion, and they would have spread discord among you, seeking to cause you strife. And among you are those who would listen to them. And Allah is Knowing of the wrongdoers.
18:25111. They had sought to cause discord before and had plotted against you until the truth came and God's command prevailed, even though they disliked it.
18:43112. And among them are those who say, “Humiliate me and do not put me to trial.” Unquestionably, into trial they have fallen. And indeed, Hell will encompass the disbelievers.
19:05113. If good befalls you, it grieves them; but if misfortune befalls you, they say, "We had already taken our precautions," and they turn away rejoicing.
19:26114. Say, "Nothing will befall us except what God has decreed for us; He is our Protector, and upon God let the believers rely."
19:45115. Say, "Do you await for us anything but one of the two best things?"
19:55116. We are waiting for God to afflict you with punishment from Himself or at our hands. So wait; indeed, we are waiting with you.
20:19117. Say, "Spend willingly or unwillingly, it will not be accepted from you. Indeed, you have been a disobedient people."
20:36118. And nothing prevents their expenditures from being accepted from them except that they disbelieve in God and His Messenger and they do not approach prayer except while they are lazy and they do not spend.
21:04119. So let not their wealth or their children impress you. God only intends to punish them through them in this worldly life and that their souls should depart while they are disbelievers.
21:32110. They swear by God that they are of you, but they are not of you; rather, they are a people who cause division.
21:48111. If they could find a refuge, caves, or any entrance, they would flee to it while they were running wild.
22:00112. And among them are those who teach you about almsgiving. If they are given some of it, they are pleased, but if they are not given some of it, at once they become angry.
22:17113. If only they had been content with what God and His Messenger had given them and had said, “Sufficient for us is God; He will give us of His bounty, and so will His Messenger; indeed, we are turning to God in supplication.”
22:46114. Charity is only for the poor and the needy, those employed to collect it, those whose hearts are to be reconciled, for freeing captives, for those in debt, for the cause of God, and for the wayfarer.
23:09115. An obligation from God, and God is All-Knowing, All-Wise
23:18116. And among them are those who harm the Prophet and say, "He is all ears."
23:27117. Say, "He is an ear of goodness for you. He believes in God and trusts the believers and is a mercy to those of you who believe. But those who harm the Messenger of God will have a painful punishment."
23:50118. They swear by God to you to please you, but God and His Messenger are more deserving of being pleased, if they are believers.
24:07119. Do they not know that whoever opposes God and His Messenger will have the fire of Hell, abiding therein eternally? That is the great disgrace.
24:29110. The hypocrites fear that a surah will be revealed about them, informing them of what is in their hearts. Say, "Mock [as you wish]; indeed, Allah will bring forth that which you fear."
24:53111. And if you ask them, they will surely say, "We were only jesting and playing." Say, "Is it Allah and His verses and His Messenger that you were mocking?"
25:15112. Make no excuses; you have disbelieved after your belief. If We pardon one group among you, We will punish another group because they were criminals.
25:42113. The hypocrites, both men and women, are all alike; they enjoin what is wrong and forbid what is right, and they withhold their hands [from giving in charity].
26:02114. They forgot God, so He forgot them. Indeed, the hypocrites are the defiantly disobedient.
26:13115. God has promised the hypocrites, both men and women, and the disbelievers the Fire of Hell, wherein they will abide eternally. It is sufficient for them. God has cursed them, and for them is a lasting punishment.
26:35116. Like those before you, who were stronger than you and had more wealth and children, they enjoyed their portion [of worldly pleasures].
26:54117. So they enjoyed their portion, and you enjoyed your portion, just as those before you enjoyed their portion, and you took what they took.
27:14118. Those are the ones whose deeds have been rendered worthless in this world and the Hereafter, and those are the losers.
27:28119. Has there not come to them the news of those before them—the people of Noah, 'Ad, Thamud, the people of Abraham, the people of Madyan, and the overturned cities?
27:47110. Their messengers came to them with clear proofs, and God would never wrong them, but they wronged themselves.
28:05111. The believing men and believing women are allies of one another.
28:15112. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, establish prayer, pay zakat, and obey God and His Messenger.
28:31113. Those are the ones upon whom God will have mercy. Indeed, God is Exalted in Might and Wise.
28:43114. God has promised believing men and women gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide eternally, and pleasant dwellings.
29:01115. In gardens of justice and approval from God is greater. That is the supreme triumph.
29:15116. O Prophet, strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites and be harsh with them.
29:27117. Their abode is Hell, and what a wretched destination!
29:34118. They swear by God that they did not say it, and they did indeed say the word of disbelief and disbelieved after their Islam, and they plotted what they could not attain.
29:50119. And they resented nothing except that God and His Messenger had enriched them from His bounty.
30:02119. If they repent, it will be better for them; but if they turn away, God will punish them with a painful punishment in this world and the Hereafter.
30:19110. And they have no protector or helper on earth.
30:27111. And among them are those who made a covenant with God, saying, “If He gives us from His bounty, we will surely give charity and be among the righteous.”
30:44112. But when He gave them of His bounty, they were stingy with it and turned away while they were entrenched.
31:14113. So He caused hypocrisy to remain in their hearts until the Day they meet Him, because they broke their promise to God and because they used to lie.
31:33114. Do they not know that God knows their secrets and their private conversations, and that God is above all that is unseen?
31:48115. Those who criticize the believers who give charity willingly, and those who find nothing to give except what they can afford, and are bewitched by them - God will ridicule them, and they will have a punishment.
32:10Painful
32:12116. Whether you ask forgiveness for them or do not ask forgiveness for them, even if you ask forgiveness for them seventy times, God will not forgive them. That is because they disbelieved in God.
32:33And God and His Messenger do not guide the wicked people.
32:41117. Those who stayed behind rejoiced in their inaction, contrary to the Messenger of God, and disliked striving with their wealth and their lives in the cause of God.
32:59118. And they said, “Do not march forth in the heat.” Say, “The fire of Hell is more intense in heat,” if only they understood.
33:26119. Let them laugh a little and weep much as they have earned.
33:40110. If God returns you to a group of them and they ask your permission to go out, say, “You will never go out with me, nor will you fight with me against any enemy.”
34:02111. You were content to remain behind the first time, so remain behind with those who stay behind.
34:15112. Never pray over any of them who dies, nor stand at their grave.
34:28113. They disbelieved in God and His Messenger and died as transgressors.
34:39114. Do not be impressed by their wealth or their children.
34:45115. God only intends to punish them with it in this world and cause their souls to depart while they are disbelievers.
35:00116. And when a surah was revealed saying, “Believe in God and strive with His Messenger,” those of them who possessed wealth asked your permission and said, “Leave you with those who sit [at home].”
35:22117. They were content to be with the oppressors, and their hearts were sealed, so they do not understand.
35:34117. But the Messenger and those who believed with him strove with their wealth and their lives.
35:46118. And those will have the good things, and those are the successful ones.
35:56119. God has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide eternally. That is the great attainment.
36:14110. And the Bedouins who made excuses came to seek permission to enter, while those who disbelieved in God and His Messenger remained behind.
36:27111. Those among them who disbelieve will be afflicted with a painful punishment.
36:34112. There is no blame on the weak, the sick, or those who cannot find anything to spend, if they are sincere to God and His Messenger.
36:53113. There is no blame on those who do good.
36:59114. And God is Forgiving and Merciful
37:03115. Nor is there blame on those who, when they came to you to be provided with mounts, you said, “I can find nothing for you to ride on,” and they turned away with their eyes overflowing with tears of sorrow.
37:26Can they not find anything to spend?
37:30116. The only way to deal with those who ask your permission while they are rich
37:41117. They were content to be with those who stayed behind, and God sealed their hearts, so they do not know.
37:54117. They will apologize to you if you return to them. Say, "Make no excuses; we will not believe you. God has already informed us of your news."
38:11118. And Allah and His Messenger will see your deeds. Then you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you of what you used to do.
38:31119. They will swear to you by God, when you return to them, so that you will turn away from them. So turn away from them. Indeed, they are impure, and their abode is Hell, as recompense for what they used to earn.
38:59110. They swear to you so that you may be pleased with them. But even if you are pleased with them, God is not pleased with the disobedient people.
39:15111. The Bedouins are more hardened in disbelief and hypocrisy, and more likely to be ignorant of the limits of what God has revealed to His Messenger. And God is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
39:37112. And among the Bedouins are some who consider what they spend as a loss and await for misfortune to befall you. May misfortune befall them. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.
40:02113. And among the Bedouins are some who believe in God and the Last Day and consider what they spend as means of drawing nearer to God and prayers of the Messenger.
40:20114. Indeed, it is a means of drawing them near; God will admit them into His mercy. Indeed, God is Forgiving and Merciful.
40:38115. And the first to embrace Islam from among the Muhajireen and the Ansar and those who followed them in righteousness - Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him.
41:02116. And He has prepared for them gardens under which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment.
41:20117. And among the Bedouins around you are hypocrites.
41:28118. And among the people of Medina are some who are persistent in hypocrisy; you do not know them, but We know them. We will punish them twice; then they will be returned to a great punishment.
41:49119. And others have confessed their sins; they mixed a righteous deed with another that was bad. Perhaps God will accept their repentance. Indeed, God is Forgiving and Merciful.
42:11110. Take from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and sanctify them, and invoke blessings upon them. Indeed, your invocations are reassurance for them. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.
42:33111. Do they not know that it is God who accepts repentance from His servants and receives alms, and that God is the Accepting of Repentance, the Merciful?
42:52112. And say, "Let them do good deeds, for God will see your deeds, and so will His Messenger and the believers."
43:01113. And you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you of what you used to do.
43:14114. And others are left to God's judgment, whether He will punish them or forgive them. And God is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
43:31115. And those who built a mosque for harm and disbelief and to cause division among the believers and as a station for those who had previously waged war against God and His Messenger
43:51116. And they will surely swear, "We intended nothing but good," but God bears witness that they are liars.
44:05117. Never stay in it.
44:09118. A mosque founded on piety from the first day is more worthy of your standing in prayer.
44:21119. There are men who love to keep themselves pure; and God loves those who keep themselves pure.
44:33110. Is he who founds his building on piety towards God and His good pleasure better, or he who founds his building on the brink of a crumbling precipice, so that it collapses with him?
44:55In the fire of Hell
44:58111. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
45:04112. Their building which they built will not cease to be a source of doubt in their hearts until their hearts are cut off. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.
45:23113. Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their wealth in exchange for Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allah, so they kill and are killed.
45:46114. He has a true promise in the Torah, the Gospel, and the Qur'an.
45:55115. And who is more faithful to his covenant than God? So rejoice in your transaction which you have contracted. And that is the great attainment.
46:12116. Those who repent, those who worship, those who praise, those who travel, those who bow down, those who prostrate themselves, those who enjoin what is right
46:29117. Those who enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and observe the limits set by God
46:41118. And give good tidings to the believers
46:45119. It is not for the Prophet and those who have believed to ask forgiveness for the polytheists.
46:57110. Even if they were nearer to the Fire, after it became clear to them that they were companions of Hell
47:09111. And Abraham's seeking forgiveness for his father was only because of a promise he had made to him. But when it became clear to him that his father was an enemy of God, he disowned him.
47:33112. Indeed, Abraham was compassionate and forbearing.
47:40113. And it is not for God to lead a people astray after He has guided them until He makes clear to them what they should avoid.
47:53114. God is All-Knowing of everything.
47:59115. To God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; He gives life and causes death.
48:08116. And you have no protector or helper besides God.
48:18117. God has turned in mercy to the Prophet and the emigrants.
48:26118. And the helpers who followed him in the hour of hardship, after the hearts of a group of them had almost deviated, then he turned to them in forgiveness.
48:43118. He is Most Kind and Most Merciful to them.
48:49119. And upon the three who were left behind, until the earth, despite its vastness, became too narrow for them, and their own souls became too narrow for them.
49:06119. They thought that there was no refuge from God except in Him. Then He turned to them so that they might repent.
49:22110. God is the Acceptor of Repentance, the Merciful.
49:29111. O you who have believed, fear Allah and be with the truthful.
49:40111. It was not for the people of Medina and the Bedouin Arabs around them to stay behind from the Messenger of God or to prefer themselves over him.
49:59112. That is because they will not suffer thirst, nor will they be defeated, nor will they be harmed in the cause of God, nor will they be obeyed.
50:16113. And they do not attack a position that angers the disbelievers, nor do they inflict any harm upon an enemy, except that a good deed is recorded for them because of it. Indeed, God does not
50:38The reward of the benefactors is lost
50:42114. They do not spend anything, small or large, nor do they cross any valley, except that it is recorded for them that God may reward them according to the best of what they used to do.
51:04115. And it is not for the believers to go forth all together.
51:14116. So why should not a group from each of their factions go forth to gain understanding in religion and warn their people when they return to them, so that they may be cautious?
51:37117. O you who have believed, fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you and let them find harshness in you. And know that God is with the righteous.
52:00118. And when a surah is revealed, some of them say, “Which of you has this increased in faith?” As for those who believed, it has increased them in faith, and they rejoice.
52:28119. As for those in whose hearts is a disease, it only increases their wickedness upon wickedness, and they die while they are disbelievers.
52:43110. Do they not see that they are tempted once or twice every year, yet they do not repent nor do they take heed?
