Further intervention is being planned for students of Tranquility Secondary School, who were suspended following a fight and an attack on an Alderman a couple of weeks ago.
This intervention was addressed by officials from the TTPS and the Homeland Security Ministry.

00:00five students were suspended on may 9th days after attacking alderman wayne griffith on may 4th
00:06at the time the alderman was intervening in a fight among the students speaking to tv6 news
00:11following an intervention program with students of tranquility secondary and bishops and sti high
00:17school deputy commissioner of police in charge of administration and operational support junior
00:23benjamin said more work will be done by the ttps just today i spoke with the superintendent in
00:30charge of the community policing section and we are going to be reaching out to these students
00:35and seeking to have a further intervention where we want to seek to have them to be part and parcel
00:41of the police youth club and we have a conflict resolution aspect of it where we're able to engage
00:47students to ensure that their behavior becomes better according to dcp benjamin it is also being
00:54examined for other students in future whether there were police installed at tranquility before the
01:01incident but if there was not are there now what is the situation there well again the situation
01:06happened outside of tranquility but let me just say tranquility was not in the initial 51 schools
01:11however uh i think later on we recognized the need uh to have that intervention in tranquility i
01:19remember personally going and speaking with the principal there and we then uh had officers going there
01:26i think more so uh in the evening time to also have that sort of intervention and have the presence
01:32of the
01:32police there the dcp said requests continue to come in for police officers to be stationed at schools
01:39but he reiterated that the ministry of education is responsible for making that decision meanwhile
01:45director of policy and community support in the ministry of homeland security zahir ali indicated
01:51that more is needed as it pertains to suspended students we need to sustain this we need to keep it
01:58we need to formalize it and we need to also create architecture to be able to have a program where
02:05persons who are suspended or who may require more deeper intervention to have that opportunity to be
