00:00NL Manager of the Year. I'm a little surprised, maybe I shouldn't be, despite how well this team
00:06has been playing under Don Mattingly, that now we are seeing the Phillies interim skipper as
00:11second on the odds board for Manager of the Year in the NL behind Atlanta's Walt Weiss. Mattingly
00:16has climbed to, as you can see, plus 460. Craig Council, Don Kenley, and Marmel in St. Louis
00:23round out the top five. What kind of consideration should Mattingly get? Is this
00:29turnaround for Philly truly a testament to him, or water kind of finding its level?
00:34I think it's more water finding its level. I think Mattingly is doing a great job, clearly,
00:39right? They're 16-4 since he took over, but we have to remember when Rob Thompson took over for
00:43the Phillies, and they went 65-46, back in 2022, he finished fifth in NL Manager of the Year that
00:50year. So could Mattingly win it? Of course, but he doesn't really have history on his side.
00:57I'm still on Don Kelly, 15-1 to win Manager of the Year, so I'm hoping he ends up winning.
01:02But if I'm
01:03looking at the market right now, I think Ollie Marmel at 750 is absolutely the play, considering
01:08what the Cardinals are doing.
