00:00Madison Square Garden, the world's most famous arena.
00:03They hang banners mostly for like Billy Joel and, you know,
00:06when Harry comes to town and sells the place out here.
00:09But it's been a long time since they actually hung a championship banner.
00:13Rangers in the 1990s, before that, I don't know what,
00:15was it 1972 for the New York Knicks?
00:18But that charge starts tonight.
00:20Eastern Conference Finals, game number one,
00:23New York Knicks at home taking on the Cleveland Cavaliers.
00:26The Knicks have been hanging out for weeks, it feels like,
00:29after wiping the Sixers out in round number two.
00:32The Cavaliers in round number one, who took a while to get through that.
00:36The Cavaliers in round number two, took a long time to get through that.
00:39Rested and ready are those New York Knicks and favored by just over a touchdown.
00:44Minus seven and a half, Joe, across the board and a total of 217 and a half.
00:49Knicks Cavaliers spread line tonight for game number one is what?
00:53Yeah, we saw five and a half early look ahead here with this game.
00:58It's been bet with six and a half.
00:59Now it is seven.
01:01The total, Donnie, has also been bet up from that 214, 214 and a half here.
01:08And listen, history tells us a lot about this spot.
01:12And this spot is a team like the Knicks, who have been off since May 10th, Donnie.
01:16Kind of hard to believe, May 10th.
01:19Usually what happens in games where teams with a week or more off take on a team that
01:24just had to play a seven-game series.
01:27Yeah, game ones don't end well for those teams that had to play in a game seven coming into
01:33it.
01:33And it makes sense, Donnie.
01:35I mean, how much more energy?
01:37Legs aren't going to be there in the second half.
01:39You got a Knicks team that is rested, ready to go.
01:42Usually doesn't end well for the Cavs.
01:44Not to mention the Knicks are great at home.
01:46The Cavs are terrible on the road.
01:48This is just an awful spot for the Cavs.
01:51I would be shocked, Donnie, if this line doesn't keep climbing before we get to tip
01:56off.
01:56Maybe seven and a half, maybe even eight here at some particular point.
02:00I think the total also will start to see some over money.
02:04So if you're looking to go contrarian in any way, I don't think there's any rush to run
02:09to the window, Donnie.
02:10I would hold off.
02:11You'll get much better numbers closer to tip off.
02:14Hot topics in the association.
02:16You might say now, what are you talking about the NBA?
02:18Yeah, we know there's a Knicks game coming up tonight here going up against the Cleveland
02:21Cavaliers, Madison Square Garden, world's most famous arena.
02:24What if I told you NBA players technically, I guess you could say, or pro players coming
02:31back to college basketball?
02:32This is where we get the issues at, Joe.
02:34This is where we get upset because you're led to believe amateurism, which is no longer
02:38the case.
02:39These kids are getting paid, in some cases, millions of dollars to play for teams here
02:43and can move at any time, which means they're basically free agents on a year-to-year basis.
02:47But what we always knew was kids coming out of high school, getting a couple years to
02:52play, once they decide to go pro, there's no looking back.
02:55Even, Joe, to the point where you put your name in the draft, you can't play college basketball.
03:00That's no longer the case.
03:03Sleeper Celtics account tweets out.
03:05The Celtics' 2020 second-round pick, Yam Madar, is committing to LSU for basketball.
03:13Played in three summer league games in 2021, but has played professionally in Europe for
03:18the past six years.
03:19He's going to be 26 in December, Joe.
03:23What do we think about this?
03:24I think we know.
03:26Well, the problem is there's already court cases which have allowed this, Donnie.
03:31So that's the issue, right?
03:34So, you know, great that you were drafted and you've gone.
03:38And the minute you go to the courts, you open yourself up to this kind of situation.
03:42Instead of the NCAA putting their foot down and just being like, this is not going, this
03:48is not how it works, well, then they sue, they go to court, and then the NCAA is like,
03:54listen, don't blame me.
03:55We've been trying to get, you know, an antitrust agreement from Congress.
03:59They won't get, it's all their fault.
04:00Don't blame us.
04:01It's the court's fault.
04:02So, and this all stems back to the NCAA not nipping this thing in the bud from the start.
04:09And it's, you know, and again, games are always going to evolve.
04:13Games are going to change.
04:14We get that.
04:14But just like the spirit of the NCAA game was, hey, pick a university.
04:18Maybe you don't like the coach.
04:20If you want to transfer, you sit out a year so it makes you stick it out.
04:22And maybe it's better for you.
04:23The players don't get paid.
04:25Yeah, they're going to get duffel bags and handshakes and get free tattoos.
04:28Hopefully at this point, some clothes down the street.
04:30But the fact of the matter is, there's no surprise here.
04:33Where is this taking place?
04:34It's LSU.
04:35Remind us, Joe, who the head coach of LSU is once again.
04:38It's Will Wade, who's on Wiretap, paying his players before you even could pay your players.
04:43It's no surprise.
04:44Like, you know what?
04:45It's the wild, wild west out there right now.
04:47We're going to push this to the extreme.
04:49People in LSU don't care.
04:50Hey, maybe it helps their basketball team and you move forward.
04:52But being 25, then 26, then 27 after playing professionally, that's not what collegiate athletics are about.
04:59And I know things are changing.
05:00And the more we like to stay the same, it's just not going to happen.
05:03You see this right here.
05:04It's like, guys, six-year professional is coming back to college basketball.
05:08Who knows at this point right now, Joe?
05:10But other things in the association and maybe players that used to play.
05:13I say this a lot to you.
05:14The floor is yours, Joe Ranieri, which means the floor is yours, Senator.
05:18How about this?
05:18Former NBA champion Rick Fox has been appointed to the Bahamian Senate per Reuters.
05:24Quote, as a senator, I hope to help examine recent turnout trends and work to restore trust in public life
05:31through transparency, accountability, and an economy where opportunity reaches more Bahamians first.
05:37Rick Fox in politics.
05:40Loved Rick Fox, man.
05:42The guy was nothing but a winner, man.
05:44I mean, the guy's got a bunch of rings on a bunch of different quality teams.
05:49He was a great NBA player.
05:51He was a great teammate.
05:53Starred in a whole lot of Hollywood movies, too, and shows and things along those lines.
05:57And now he's into politics.
05:59Sounds like he's got the Ronald Reagan path going on here.
06:04Now, information, Joe, that you would like to know before you sign somebody to an extension, just be truthful with
06:10us.
06:11We heard Steve Kerr basically saying, you know, the group hugs that, hey, man, what a ride it's been.
06:15Looks like it's going to be a new chapter for Golden State.
06:17And then it wasn't.
06:19Steve Kerr signed an extension.
06:20Probably sold the front office on, yeah, you know what?
06:22I got a lot left in the tank.
06:24I can see us through, like, these aging roster into the new millennium for the Golden State Warriors.
06:29So he signs the contract on the dotted line for probably millions of dollars.
06:33And then we get this, quote, yeah, I didn't have a great year last year.
06:36I think coaches are similar to players.
06:38You have years that are better than others.
06:40You have years that are worse than others.
06:42Steve Kerr said, you know what?
06:43I stunk last year.
06:44Doesn't matter.
06:45I got money in the bank and a new extension.
06:47Let's move forward.
06:49Yeah, right.
06:50Water under the bridge, Donnie.
06:51I mean, I'm here whether you like me or you don't like me.
06:54And, yeah, so let's go.
06:56And the problem is, is he going to have any new players to work with?
06:58Likely not.
06:59Maybe he'll get a 41-year-old LeBron James, who apparently is highly coveted right now.
07:08Him and Steph could be the oldest.
07:10Maybe Draymond comes back, too.
07:12I think the Warriors' future is bright.
07:15Warriors!
07:16How about those Detroit Pistons futures here?
07:18And they got a lot of futures they got to deal with here coming up in the next couple weeks.
07:21That's why free agency is looming for the number one seed that was knocked out of the playoffs by the
07:26Cleveland Cavaliers.
07:27Rule number one, don't sign Tobias Harris again because he comes up small in big games.
07:32Didn't play well in game six or game seven.
07:34Jalen Duren disappearing act like he was Houdini in the playoffs.
07:38Pistons got a lot of decisions to make here, Joe.
07:41Well, they have one decision to make.
07:43You have to go out and get yourself a reliable number two option to Cade Cunningham because nobody, Cleveland showed
07:51you, they didn't care who else chucked the ball up.
07:55They weren't a weight of anybody else on the Detroit Pistons beating them by shooting the ball.
08:01So, you need to go out and find yourself a reliable number two for Cade Cunningham.
08:05Go get it.
08:06That's your biggest concern in the offseason.
08:09Double OT last night in OKC.
08:12The San Antonio Spurs with a 1-0 lead via a double overtime, 122-115 final.
08:20Joe, before I get some stuff from you here, let's take a look at what the coaches were saying last
08:25night after the game.
08:26It was a competitive game.
08:28It felt like both teams just kept doing enough to not be put away and kept doing enough to let
08:38the other team know they were trying to pull away.
08:46It got to a point probably sometime at the end of that fourth quarter, it just felt like it was
08:51a war of wills.
08:53And there was a level of mental toughness that was exuded by both teams.
09:02And almost sometimes, like in football, they say it's just at some point the time runs out.
09:07It felt like everybody kept scoring.
09:09But the bench was great for us.
09:12We needed every second from everybody that played.
09:14And then those five guys, I think, I don't know what it is, one of you probably do,
09:17but they played maybe the last 15 or so odd game-time minutes.
09:23And their legs got wobbly, but they composed themselves and finished strong.
09:28And that was a heck of a game to be a part of.
09:30Offensively, it took us a little while to get a little bit of a rhythm in the game.
09:34In terms of balance, to your point, I thought our threes were good in the first half.
09:39We didn't shoot it great.
09:40I actually thought we had higher quality threes in the first half than we did the rest of the game.
09:43But the balance of attacks wasn't great.
09:47You know, who knows what that is.
09:48It's the first time playing them in four months.
09:50They're obviously a unique opponent.
09:52We just had a while off.
09:54I thought we caught a little bit more of a groove to start the second half.
09:57We were lucky to be down seven at halftime.
09:59But, yeah, I mean, 100%.
10:02There's a lot we can improve on.
10:04Joe, tough place to play.
10:06Spurs go on the road.
10:07Young, talented team take the 1-0 series lead.
10:10And now they, Joe, have home court advantage.
10:12Yeah, they stole it there.
10:14But the reality was they were the better team from the opening tip in that game, Donnie.
10:21And Wemby and a few others had a chance.
10:23The final three minutes of that game in regulation was out of control.
10:27Both teams had opportunities to close it out in regulation.
10:31Certainly, Wemby did.
10:33But he more than made up for it in overtime.
10:37So, what a great – again, this is going to be better than any finals we're going to get, Donnie.
10:43So, we should appreciate every game of this series and hope it goes seven.
10:49Wemby went for 41, 24, and 3.
10:52Let's get a quick clip from him after the game.
10:55If that was in your mind at all, knowing that Shea had got that award and you were in the
10:59top three for it,
11:00and, you know, did any part of tonight feel personal?
11:03I thought some of your facial expressions kind of looked like you were really, really going for it.
11:07Yeah, for sure.
11:09Everything you just said.
11:11Motivation, you don't need much of it here.
11:13This late in the playoffs, looks like Wemby motivated by some slights, he appears.
11:18Well, and the reality is SGA has burned every other team this year, Donnie, except, you know what?
11:26San Antonio.
11:27He can't beat San Antonio.
11:30Let's talk some hoops here tonight because you're Knicks.
11:34And from what I understand, tickets are still available in the nosebleeds for about three grand
11:39if you want to go sit up at the top of the garden.
11:42But here we go.
11:43I haven't played since May 10th.
11:45We saw OKC struggle a little bit early last night there with all that time off.
11:51What do we get tonight from the Knicks?
11:53Yeah, I think the Knicks are in a spot to roll, quite frankly.
11:57Now, the problem is I do think the number is ridiculous at minus seven and a half.
12:03I don't, I just, the Thunder laid six and a half to the Spurs,
12:07which I also thought was a bit ridiculous to somebody who was, you know,
12:11invested in San Antonio last night and was really happy with the end result of that game.
12:17The, I think the Knicks are in a really good spot.
12:19And I think the bigger takeaway, and I don't know how it lands for you guys,
12:23but a lot of people watched Oklahoma City and San Antonio and probably said,
12:27man, this is the finals.
12:30No one in the East is going to touch these two teams.
12:33And I watched that game and went, man, do the Knicks, do the roads keep opening up for New York?
12:42Because everyone, people last night were like, can we get 14 games of Oklahoma City and San Antonio?
12:47And the Knicks would be like, be my guest.
12:50We'll be waiting on the other side.
12:52Like, that is going to be, would it stun anybody if the Knicks once again had a wild rest advantage
12:59with fresher legs
13:00than whomever comes out of Oklahoma City, San Antonio?
13:05No, no surprise here at this.
13:06But Kevin, people need to know, like, interesting information outside the realm of the New York Knicks
13:11and how they're going to play tonight.
13:12You grew up in Queens.
13:14You got a couple brothers.
13:15You got a dad.
13:16You're not a Knicks fan.
13:18Are we, is it a Knicks household?
13:20Are people popping and, you know, getting after it for the Knicks in your house?
13:24No.
13:25No.
13:26There's five people.
13:27Certainly not.
13:29There's five people.
13:31The two would claim the Knicks.
13:35Another is it, I would say, a pretty much nightly free agent, which I really, really respect.
13:42My dad's been a Spurs guy my whole life.
13:45So, yeah, just really like Tim Duncan and everything.
13:50Yeah, yeah, of course.
13:53And then you guys know me.
13:54Now, here's the thing.
13:56You want to talk about a fairy book ending?
13:59Oh, no.
14:00The king comes back.
14:01The king comes to New York.
14:04Oh, my.
14:04And we got to end this thing in style.
14:07We got to end this thing in style.
14:09I mean, I'll tell you this, Donnie.
14:12He ends up on the Knicks.
14:14I ended up in one of those side talk videos.
14:16I'll tell you that.
14:17Bing, bong.
14:18Bing, bong.
14:19Correspondent.
14:20Man on the street.
14:21Coming to you live.
14:22Game time decisions.
14:23You're going to have to take some game time decisions off to head down to the Mecca.
14:26But, by the way, the Mecca is going to be the place to be tonight, along with game time decisions.
14:30Six o'clock tonight.
14:32Getting you ready for that big game.
14:33It's Kevin.
14:34It's Gabe.
14:34No better place to be here.
14:35Kevin, thanks for joining us today.
14:39What else is an issue?
14:41How are we going to get down and fade the public?
14:52MVP.
14:53MVP.
14:54Well, is SGA in the regular season, Joe?
14:56But that's not the question we ask.
14:57Who's your pick to win the NBA Finals?
15:00And right now, a clean sweep for Victor Webanyama.
15:03Coming off last night's 40 performance.
15:06A 40-20 performance in double overtime in a victory here.
15:09People hot on Wemby right now, Joe.
15:13Well, yeah.
15:13But it only counts if you were on Wemby last night and prior to this.
15:18You can't jump on him now because now there's no value on him now winning anything.
15:23So, but yes, did he not look like he had a chip on his shoulder last night, Donnie?
15:30Did he not look like he played like a dude that it feels like he's been slighted, even
15:36though nobody doesn't think he's like one of the best players in the NBA?
15:39But hey, whatever motivates him, I'll back him as well here.
15:44I think that's the correct answer.
15:46Let's get to some best bets.
15:48Here's bye, bye, bye.
15:55Oh, best bets tonight on a Tuesday.
15:58Joe picked up a double last night in a double overtime over victory with those San Antonio
16:02Spurs and OKC Thunder.
16:03Joe, take it away, Senator.
16:05The floor is yours.
16:07Well, let me ask you, Donnie.
16:09Remember, it seems like forever ago, but it was what, 2022, I believe, when Donovan Mitchell
16:14was this close to being a Knick, but instead they couldn't get the trade done.
16:20So yeah, Jalen Brunson signed and now here they are both getting ready to go at one another
16:25in the Eastern Conference Finals.
16:28The history is very clear here, Donnie.
16:30Teams with this much rest, like the Knicks, taking on a team in Game 1 coming out of a
16:36Game 7?
16:37Yeah, those teams have yet to cover a Game 1 coming out of the Game 7 here.
16:43We know the Cavs can't play on the road.
16:46We know the Knicks play great at home.
16:48Let's not overthink this.
16:50Lay it with the Knicks.
16:51I got them winning by double digits here.
16:53I don't see anything that changes my mind.
16:55Let's get to some of the games tonight, Joe, which includes Madison Square Garden.
16:59Get your phones out, people.
17:01Place your wagers or investments there.
17:02Why?
17:03Go to the Calci Marketplace and check it out.
17:05The Knicks are the heavy favorite tonight.
17:07No surprise.
17:0870% chance for them to win this basketball game.
17:11The Yes Ticket also, Joe, listed at 70%.
17:14$100 investment on the Knicks at home tonight just to win.
17:17Pays back $143.
17:19You want to get them at $7.5 tonight?
17:21Take a look at this, Joe.
17:23$100 investment pays back $205.
17:25That's plus money if you cover that number of $7.5.
17:29Yeah, and now, listen, now is the time, if you haven't done so, that if you like the
17:35Knicks here tonight, then you need to start looking into the other markets associated with
17:40them, the series market, Donnie, the NBA Finals market here.
17:46You need to start loading up now on the Knicks because if you like them to win tonight like
17:51I do, yeah, they are likely the price is going to get worse before it gets better as these
17:59games go on in this series, Donnie.
18:01So, don't overthink game one.
18:04Just go ahead and back the Knicks.
18:06And I would even back the under with the Cleveland Cavaliers team total here tonight.
18:12Yes, just went there on the Cal State Marketplace, Joe, reading my mind, because if you figure
18:17you come off of a game seven, you're a little bit exhausted, and maybe the Knicks run away
18:21with this game.
18:22You're not playing your starters in the fourth quarter here.
18:24Team total listed at Cal State, Joe, $106.5.
18:26A no contract on that.
18:28$100 investment will pay back $186.
18:30If you feel not a lot of scoring there from the Cleveland side.
18:35What do the people want to see on PME, Joe?
18:37They want to see the NBA Finals appear on this edition of PME, and they're going to get
18:43that right now, Joe.
18:44What do you think?
18:45It's all NBA.
18:46I love it.
18:47I love it.
18:48Listen, Donnie, this was a market I actually talked a lot about here over the last 48 hours.
18:55And, again, you're going to see when we talk about repricing in markets, Donnie, this was
19:01a perfect example of it.
19:03Yep.
19:04Perfect example is right, because now you have one game that's already been played in the
19:07Western Conference Finals here and upset by San Antonio.
19:11So now you say, do you buy the dip in the market, which people ask so many times, because
19:15today, 51% chance.
19:17You know how that is?
19:18It's San Antonio now.
19:2050% chance.
19:21It's Oklahoma City.
19:22They're down home court advantage back in the favor of San Antonio.
19:26And now, Joe, if you feel you want to jump in on a discounted prices for OKC, $100 investment
19:32pays back $200 if OKC wins the series.
19:37Yeah.
19:38Well, listen, the series price, Donnie, 24 hours ago was, I believe, Oklahoma City nearing,
19:46yeah, well over 60, 65, 66 cents there at one point.
19:52Yesterday, and I had mentioned and said, listen, if you like San Antonio, which I did, this
19:58was a market to jump in.
20:00The championship market was a way to jump in.
20:03The NBA, the MVP market was a way to jump in.
20:06If you have believed, like we did, Donnie, that the Western Conference, the champions coming
20:11out of that conference, these were the markets that you needed to get repriced.
20:16And look at it now, Donnie.
20:18Now we're at a 50-50 mark in this series when you could have got San Antonio around 30 cents,
20:2433 cents just 24 hours ago.
20:27Go, New York.
20:29Go, New York.
20:30Go will be the chance.
20:31Tonight, as the City Dancers take center stage in Madison Square Garden, it's the Knicks and
20:35the Cavaliers, but they haven't played a game yet in their series, Joe.
20:38Game number one tonight, Eastern Conference Finals, series winner on the Kelsey marketplace
20:42right now, heavy favorite on those New York Knicks at a 71% chance, which means if they
20:48win tonight, that will increase.
20:50If they lose tonight, Cleveland's going to get a surge.
20:53It's finding out the marketplace where you want to get in before this game, Joe, of what
20:58you think is going to happen.
20:59New York, though, is the favorite to win the series by a wide margin.
21:03It's not even close, Donnie.
21:0470-30, really, is what we're looking at right now.
21:07And I had mentioned this is, it's time to jump in on the Knicks if you're going to do
21:13it here, unless, of course, Donnie, you think Cleveland can pull off a miracle.
21:18Well, then there's some value at backing them right now at the 28 to 30 cents, because the
21:25Knicks, even if they win tonight, Donnie, this market is not going to jump up from 70 to
21:3080 or 85, just because they won game one.
21:34They won't reprice the Knicks.
21:36They will reprice Cleveland.
21:39And repricing is going on right now with what happened last night in the victory for the
21:43San Antonio Spurs pro basketball finals matchup, Joe.
21:46The favorite now, after last night, the San Antonio Spurs taking on the New York Knicks,
21:50currently at 38% here.
21:52Oklahoma City versus New York, now down to 34%, down almost 17% from yesterday here,
21:59just based on that victory alone.
22:01Now, granted, depending on what happens tonight, some of those things might increase and decrease.
22:04We know the difference.
22:05But San Antonio now, the favorite here in the marketplace to play the New York Knicks.
22:11Yeah.
22:12And listen, that was, if you got in on it yesterday, good to go.
22:16But again, might be time to look at OKC in that market as well.
22:21Also, Shea Gilgis-Alexander to be the MVP, which means best player on the team that wins
22:26the championship.
22:26The favorite was OKC.
22:27He's down 20% from yesterday, with a chance now of 40%, as opposed to 60%.
22:33These markets will move once again today.
22:36We'll keep you up to date.
22:37Prediction Markets Edge on the early line for Tuesday.
22:40We're done today.
22:41We'll see you tomorrow.
