00:00hello again guys and welcome back to the channel today i thought we would do a bit of a hypothetical
00:07scenario what if i lost all my 400 roses what if the garden burned down and i lost everything
00:15which 10 roses would i instantly rebuy which 10 roses if i could only get 10 which 10 roses
00:24would i instantly rebuy and without further ado let's get started and one of the very first roses
00:33i would get is of course the lovely princess charlene de monaco and this probably doesn't
00:41come as a as a surprise for most of you and this is my highest rated rose to date and
00:49it really has
00:50everything thrilled edges beautiful color unique storytelling a wonderful mango papaya fragrance and
00:59a lot of other things going on and a very excellent health um so there's no doubt for me that
01:06um if i
01:07had to start over um this would be the first rose i was looking to put in my um shopping
01:14cart and um
01:16it is a rose i fully recommend um people who love roses to get as one of the first roses
01:24it is an
01:25amazing rose that really showcased to you um why roses are amazing such a wonderful rose and well worth
01:35growing and that was princess charlene de monaco a milan rose but let's continue what is the next rose
01:45i would be seeking to get and i have been debating on that one a bit more but i actually
01:52think it would
01:53be a very easy rose to get in most places and that is the shantos beauty rose um shantos beauty
02:01rose
02:02such an amazing rose and wonderful the mask fragment about eight eight and a half the mask fragrant
02:09wonderful um kind of skin color tone to it that's very translucent very hard to explain and very big
02:17blooms and also quite healthy can sometimes get a bit of black spot on the lower leaves but honestly
02:24it never takes the plant and um it is one of your best bets when it comes to a beautiful
02:31tea hybrid
02:33this was definitely be one of the first roses i would be looking to get um such an amazing rose
02:39and
02:41i don't really think many people understand how amazing this cheap rose you can get in many places
02:48really is it is a wonderful rose and one you should really be on the lookout for
02:53both that beauty and that fragrance and i also think that the color combines really well with something
03:00like uh princess celine de monaco this pink apricot colors um but it is not as fruity on the scent
03:08as um
03:09princess celine de monaco you get more of a damask on this one but a really really really good rose
03:17but uh let's continue here and the next one i nearly wanted to put this number two but it'll be
03:24number
03:25three for me it is a mom in a million rose and let's go down here and find it mom
03:32in a million is um
03:34such a wonderful danish rose it is also called the guitar renaissance such a potent damask fragrance on
03:42this one one of the most potent damask fragrances you can get in a rose um honestly it beats many
03:49of
03:49the historic roses on the mess and and um it has a nine out of ten sand really really potent
03:56sand uh
03:58so um you can't go wrong with a mom in a million uh it does want to get a bit
04:04bigger and not like a
04:06crazy amount but it does want to get to like a hundred centimeters in height um but a wonderful
04:12rose are very healthy very uh well it is a decent rose all around i think it does so much
04:20better than
04:21many other pink roses out there and as long as you don't let it dry out for many weeks on
04:27end um
04:29a way it can lose a bit a bit of foliage you're completely okay with this rose um and you
04:35get that
04:37extremely strong damask fragrance on this one such an amazing rose that was mom in a million
04:44slash guitar renaissance also made by paulson and uh what would the next one be well it will be a
04:53dill bart rose and uh it is probably no surprise to you that it will be a shooter chateau de
05:00chauvinier
05:01if i can spell it right here i have no idea if it's a pronounced the chauvinu or chauvinia you
05:10will
05:11have to ask a french person for that um i had german in school not uh french uh so um
05:19we we had to pick
05:21between the two and uh i was lazy and picked german because that fitted that fit into my schedule at
05:27the
05:27time better um but yeah you will have to ask the french how this rose is really uh pronounced but
05:35it is a dill bart rose and it is such an amazing rose i think mine has it has been
05:42in continuous
05:43flower for so long it started out very very early and even now um late in the season there's like
05:50um 20 to 30 flowers on it it is completely covered um in flowers it is a bit slow to
05:58get going but um
06:00when it does get going such an amazing rose um it might very well be my favorite yellow i actually
06:06think it is these days and what makes it very unique is um there's a bit of color change like
06:13what you see
06:13on julia child rose that more um how to say more yellow to more lime or more white yellow effect
06:23going
06:23on and um very very healthy and foliage and you get that um um lily of the valley sent to
06:30it you get that
06:32wonderful spring flower sent to it and i really love that one and uh definitely one
06:39uh i would be looking to get if i had to restart my garden so yeah and what is the
06:46next one
06:47oh it is getting tougher and tougher here when you only have 10 spots um i actually think uh my
06:55next one
06:55will be um oh i want to include a red rose i'm just so much in doubt which one it
07:03should be because
07:05well the fragrance will give me the most strong fragrance there is on something like mildred
07:11shield also known as um deep secret in the 73 and would give me a lot of flowers with still
07:19a very
07:20very potent scent um and then you have something like a red perfume difference that's kind of in the
07:26middle um oh it's so tough to choose i actually think i'll go with
07:34uh mildred shield on this one simply because mildred shield puts out so many flowers
07:41and the scent is still really good on it yeah it could be it gets beat by well of fragrance
07:48and it
07:49um and the fragrance is also different from um red perfume different so you can't really replace those
07:56and this one is more the mask and scent oriented while the other like a red perfume the france is
08:04more galica oriented and um well fragrance is a very potent mix of a lot of things um but i
08:12think
08:12my fifth rose would be a mildred shield um really really good rose that one and i think we should
08:21include a white rose also um for me that will probably be um anna porna rose um i think i
08:34i could
08:34also have gone with something like a margaret merrill and a lot of the other very powerful scented whites
08:42um the scent is kind of similar the only difference is bloom shape um but i think um anna porna
08:50has a
08:52more traditional bloom shape and therefore i can use it uh with more uh different flower designs so i'll
09:00probably go for anna porna uh for that reason if i could only pick one and i'm kind of limited
09:06here i
09:07want to get all of them really my real list would be like uh 50 plants probably but i'm limited
09:15to 10
09:16here so but um let's continue and um anna porna of course has a very good um citrus scent a
09:26very very
09:26potency to scent and uh we should probably also include a purple rose as a number seven and that is
09:36actually a really tough one for me um yeah i think i'll go with um my thoughts right now is
09:48i know i would
09:49not go with um ludacio because ludacio isn't always as scented as pure poetry and always always ascended as
10:00alexandria renaissance uh so the battle for me in my mind right now is would i choose alexandria um
10:11renaissance or would i choose pure poetry and um oh that's such a tough one because they're not the same
10:18scent and uh um i think i would go with um pure poetry but um it's only because um
10:30i think that one has been in my garden a bit longer and um it's doing really well for me
10:35but pure poetry is
10:40one of those where you get a lot of different scents that can't mix you get some raspberry at the
10:46back
10:46end then you get a bit of myrrh and tea at the front end and such an amazing rose um
10:54it does have a
10:55weird habit though like um first in the season it makes one single bloom that gets really big and then
11:01later in the season it turns into kind of a it goes from kind of being a tea hybrid to
11:06being a grandiflora
11:07where you get these um clusters of very large blooms like two to three on a cluster
11:14um so it has that a wet habit and i sometimes um also find that when it goes into that
11:20grandiflora mode
11:21it gets a bit more citrus fragrant um but i don't know if it's just me but i have noticed
11:26that
11:28it changes a bit from early in the season to later in the season and later in the season it
11:33turns more
11:34towards grandiflora um but yeah uh a wonderful rose and uh oh what should the next rose be
11:43we are at what we are at now are we at eight or am i losing count here i think
11:49i'm losing count i
11:51actually think that the next um rose should be a mer fragrant a really pure mer fragrant rose
12:00and there's a tree roses that really come to mind for me there's a woolton old hall there's um
12:09uh peter paul rubens and uh what is the other one that there is um the lady gardener the lady
12:19gardener
12:20is myrrh with a bit of vanilla scent uh while the peter paul rubens is myrrh with a bit of
12:27orange scent
12:29and um something like woolton old hall is just pure myrrh or aniseed if you prefer to call it that
12:37um so i would be looking to get uh one of those three and uh which one would i go
12:47for which one is
12:48the most reliable in my opinion i actually think i would go for the lady gardener because i find the
12:54lady gardener is very healthy and um it blooms a bit more than um at least what i have currently
13:05noticed
13:06uh from the other two and uh it is also a really wonderful color i could combine with some of
13:13my
13:13chandles beauty and my princess shellini monaco and a lot of the other things that are going on
13:20a really powerful myrrh and vanilla scent on that one um honestly uh fragrance wise i want to put that
13:27one between nine and ten but um i should probably wait with that until i'm
13:35done doing a rose review on it but um spoiler alert that one is a very fragrant rose a very
13:45very
13:45fragrant rose probably one of the best um austin has produced and yet he hasn't taken credit for it
13:52and he hasn't mentioned it anyway i think he described it as a medium tea fragrance i really
13:59have no idea how they could make such an amazing rose and not take credit for it like when you
14:05make
14:06like a an extremely good and that happens so rarely when you make an extremely good rose like that
14:14you really want to take credit for it but i don't really feel like um austin did that on that
14:20one
14:21um but yeah a wonderful rose the lady gardener uh such an amazing rose but yeah like i said before
14:31like
14:32i could probably do a top 30 list much better but um it is extremely hard limiting myself to 10
14:43but i still
14:44think there's a lesson to be passed on here when we try to limit ourselves you get you guys get
14:50to know my
14:51true favorites you get to hear my true favorites um not just the roses i kind of like or the
14:57roses i actually
14:59use myself um so and the last part i think i'll need something that um really flowers a lot something
15:10that's just always pretty to look at and there's three roses for that um the first one is of course
15:19olivia austin olivia austin such an amazing rose mine still has like 20 blooms on it even here later
15:28in the season right now in my garden what is looking really pretty is um chatteur du chevenu and um
15:36olivia austin those two are looking really amazing right now um there's not a lot of fragrance on
15:42olivia austin but what she doesn't give you in fragrance she totally makes up for in health
15:48like uh if there was one rose to survive the apocalypse of the modern roses it might very well be
15:55an olivia austin that one is um really really really healthy and of course you also on side note have
16:03princess anne if you prefer more of um a darker color more of a purple color with a beautiful
16:10color transition princess anne is very very good also um and you also have modern art and you have um
16:19uh what is the other one um uh joy de vivre um right now um um bolivia austin is the
16:29prettiest one in my
16:30garden georgie beef has been extremely hard working for such a young rose i right now i'm really in love
16:38with um joji beef um let's just have a look at joji beef or cream veranda as it is also
16:45called
16:47uh what i really like about it is this very very very nostalgic look it has and then it just
16:55pushes out so many blooms you wouldn't believe and it has perfect health and honestly i i love that
17:03one not a lot of scent though um of course um bliss perfumer is also a wonderful rose but this
17:12one
17:12really captured my attention much more than bliss perfumer simply for how healthy and how re-blooming
17:20it was uh but if forced to choose if forced to choose well it is the last spot um
17:32i think i would rule out modern art i think i would rule out um
17:44a lot of the other ones like julia child probably also rule out it will be a fight between georgie
17:49beef
17:50and olivia austin um but olivia austin is simply indestructible and even though i like the
17:57the bloom look a tiny bit well i actually don't know if i like a tiny bit more honestly guys
18:04i think i'll go
18:05with the safe choice here and just say olivia austin um but um joy de vivre is such an amazing
18:15rose it is
18:16in my opinion one of the new ones um that are really worth getting bliss perfumer is also worth getting
18:25it's just not um how to say it as um fragrant it has a pleasant fragrance it's just not as
18:33intense
18:35on the strength it is um no more than a seven um but it has a very pleasant fruity scent
18:42that's very deep
18:43very complex um so yeah but uh i think olivia austin would be um the last spot i would take
18:53for that
18:53flower and reflowering um so but yeah there's so many roses uh and for everyone on this list i have
19:02like
19:03probably four roses that could replace it in the use so um probably i could limit myself to 30 roses
19:11um
19:13probably realistically more like 50 but um i really tried to narrow it down to 10 here the roses i
19:21have
19:22no doubt about whatsoever i would get was um shannon's beauty princess jeline de monaco mom in a million
19:29and um also chateau de chevenier um there's so many wonderful um roses out there and um those are
19:39probably ones i would look um to get first but i also have some of those little curiosities i really
19:46hate to give up something like bosco bell that wonderful exotic myrrh mixed fragrance and i have well
19:54the fragrance that really intense uh red rose with that intense fragrance and there's so many roses um
20:03i wouldn't like to give up uh because uh they're so important for me but um
20:10um if really for us to choose um there's no doubt something like princess jeline de monaco would beat
20:17most of the other roses in um in my mind um so but yeah guys uh take care out there
