00:00Timeless Purple, also known as Ludacea Rose, is a rose bred by Noak Roses in 2016.
00:10The rose itself is a very strong purple, and the purple, as the blooms get older, kind of fades to
00:18more mauve color,
00:21so they get a bit more light color the older the bloom gets.
00:26The rose itself is approximately 120 cm tall, and about 80 cm wide.
00:34I actually really like this rose, but it is mainly because of the fragrance.
00:42The rose itself starts out with an ant seed fragrance as the flowers are just opening,
00:48and as the flower gets older and the center gets open and the yellow stamens gets exposed,
00:56you get more of a floral scent and a bit of sweetness,
01:00while the ant seed note kind of more stays further back when that happens.
01:06So it is an interesting rose that can have a bit of a different experience when you're scenting it,
01:13depending on what stage it is in.
01:18The rose itself is also very decently healthy, about an 8 out of 10 for me.
01:25If you really, really, really, really provoke it, you can provoke it to get a little bit of rust,
01:32but you really have to provoke it like I've done with mine.
01:37Usually, it doesn't happen at all.
01:41It is kind of like if you really, really, really provoke pure poetry,
01:47just as much as I have done with Ludaccio,
01:50you can sometimes get a little bit of black spot on pure poetry.
01:54But in both cases, you would really have to torture these plants nearly for weeks on end.
02:01So don't worry about that.
02:04They are very, how to say it, they are very flawless nearly when it comes to health,
02:10but they do have two different weaknesses.
02:13For pure poetry, it would be black spot.
02:16And for Ludaccio, it would be rust.
02:20But only if you really, really stress them for weeks on end, you can provoke that.
02:28But I really like this rose, and I think it is one of four really exceptional purple roses.
02:40The first one, for me, if I had to rank them, would be Goethe.
02:45And the second one would probably be Princess Alexandra Renaissance.
02:52And the third one would be Ludaccio here.
02:56And then the fourth one would probably be, what is it called? Blackberry Neb.
03:05And I think those are my four favorite purples.
03:10They are really fragrant, and it depends on what fragrance you are after.
03:17Yeah, something like Goethe is more of a Myrrh-Galca mix.
03:24While something like this one is more of an aniseed and more this honey floral note mix.
03:30And then you have something like Princess Alexandra Renaissance or just Alexandra Renaissance.
03:36That one is very, very heavy, citrus scented.
03:40And of course, then you have Blackberry Neb.
03:43Blackberry Neb is more wine, more redberry scented.
03:48And so it also depends on what form factor you want.
03:53Like Blackberry Neb is the more compact of them all.
03:56While something like Princess Alexandra Renaissance is still decently compact and a nice shrub form to it.
04:06But both Ludaccio and Goethe do want to get a bit taller.
04:12So if I really had to explain the purple roses in general and what the differences are, that would be
04:19about it.
04:20But I really think Ludaccio here is an amazing rose.
04:26Ludaccio, Timeless Purple, whatever name you prefer to call it.
04:30It is a very healthy, very wonderful, fragrant rose.
04:34And as the blooms just open up, they have this wonderful, intense purple color to them.
04:43So yeah, I really like this rose.
04:46I might consider giving it a silver medal in the future.
04:51It is for certain a very good rose.
04:53I just don't like giving medals to my young roses I've only had for a short while.
05:02But this rose is very healthy.
05:05But as I said, if you stress it for long enough, you will see that the tendency it has is
05:12one for rust.
05:14I've never seen black spot on it, but it does have a slight tendency if you stress it towards rust.
05:21Just the same way that pure poetry can have a slight tendency towards black spot if you stress it a
05:28lot.
05:28But then you have to have been stressing them for like five to six weeks.
05:33You have to be really tough on them for you to even experience that.
05:39But I just thought I would mention that there is a slight, slight, very, very slight small chance you can
05:47get that.
05:49But in general, they are very healthy, very good roses, and I really like them.
05:56The choice is up to you, what you want for fragrance, what form factor you want, and what growth habit
06:05you really want in a rose, in a purple rose.
06:10But yeah, guys, that was Ludacio, also known as Timeless Purple.
