Some of the final days of March will feel more like winter than spring in the Northeast.
Transcript
00:00One big thing for the weekend. It's a spring setback from the Great Lakes to the northeast.
00:05This is the Boston cityscape there, and it's going to be nippy in New England, and not just in New
00:10England, but elsewhere.
00:11Overnight tonight, here we go, down to 27 in Boston, 19 up in Portland.
00:15Look at Presque Isle, Maine. We're going to get down to 1.
00:17That's a cold night in northern Maine for early spring. Very cold.
00:22Buffalo down to 22. There will be a few snow showers and flurries.
00:24Alpena, Michigan, some spring snowflakes into Detroit and Buffalo tonight.
00:28No significant impacts there tied to that, but they'll be fleeting and through the sky.
00:33Even Charleston, West Virginia, with a few early spring snowflakes there.
00:36Richmond, Virginia, showers this evening. We'll be exiting, and then we'll drop down to 36 late tonight.
00:41A lot of blue on the map on Saturday. We have some chilly air in place.
00:44There will be some snow showers in far northern Pennsylvania into western New York State.
00:50So very much a late winter day here in early spring, and Saturday's going to be a little bit nippy.
00:55Sunday, temperatures begin to rebound. We have yellow back on the map.
00:58Dry, bright weather for most of us in the northeast.
01:01Disturbance cruises through southern Canada.
01:03A couple of rain showers up near Messina, New York, and maybe near Loon Lake there in the northern Adirondacks.
01:08But otherwise, future radar and clouds, you'll notice it's the southward press here for our current front,
01:13bringing some lingering evening showers to parts of Virginia.
01:17Tomorrow, there are a few of those snow showers here into the Catskills.
01:20Maybe the Poconos, the Adirondacks, the Green and White Mountains.
01:23We'll see a little bit of this.
01:24Not expecting any more than just a coating, a dusting of snow in some of the mountains.
01:28And then into Sunday, we warm up a little bit more there.
01:31Those rain showers, Watertown to Messina, and other areas there near the international border.
01:36With a little bit more fanfare farther south, look at these showers kicking on through.
01:40Spotty showers for the eastern Ohio Valley and down into the mid-Atlantic again on Monday.
01:44And this is going to be a setup here that we have to keep an eye on Monday night into
01:49areas near Chicago as well.
01:51So a lot of moving parts.
01:52But overall, the Monday forecast, there are the showers kicking through from Lake Erie down to New Jersey.
01:57Not as chilly up in New England.
01:59And a pretty nice day for the mid-Atlantic farther south.
