00:00The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Michaela Matthews is escalating her feud with castmate
00:04Taylor Franke Paul, and now both reality stars are publicly firing back on social media.
00:09Matthews first doubled down on her criticism of Paul in a scathing Instagram comment posted
00:14under a fan video discussing the drama. She wrote, quote,
00:18Could probably write a book on everything I've had to say on this.
00:21Matthews continued by saying that nothing she said denied Paul's pain or trauma,
00:26but argued that someone can be hurting and still hurt people around them in the process.
00:31The reality star also defended her earlier statement about Paul's alleged pattern of
00:34destructive behavior and several domestic violence incidents. According to Matthews,
00:39her comments were never about wanting her to fail, suffer, or be canceled, but instead about no
00:44longer wanting to publicly participate in or normalize a cycle that she claims was affecting
00:49everyone around them, especially where children and repeated violence were involved.
00:54Matthews also accused Paul of knowingly staying in a harmful cycle despite the consequence to
00:59herself and the people around her. She added, you cannot repeatedly make things public and then
01:04act shocked when people eventually respond publicly too, even if you don't like the response.
01:09Then in a series of Instagram stories, Matthews admitted she definitely got out of hand commenting,
01:14but still defended herself. She insisted the feud is not about sides or teams,
01:19saying she genuinely wants everyone healed and happy, but claimed she would not quietly accept
01:23loud disrespect, manipulation, or fear tactics. Matthews also said she would not tolerate people
01:29downplaying the trauma she says she's endured before calling social media so dangerous and revealing
01:34she plans to block users who are not serving her end goal. The latest comments come after Paul
01:39responded to Matthews with an emotional Mother's Day post over the weekend. Paul accused her former
01:45friend of kicking me while I'm already down and claimed Matthews was publicly shaming her while she was
01:50struggling. What a snake friend just did to me in the public eye, Paul wrote, adding that the lack
01:55of empathy and silence was loud enough. Paul admitted she was spiraling over the situation and even
02:01referred to Matthews as one of her enemies. The former friends were once close on the secret lives of
02:07Mormon wives, but their relationship reportedly fell apart after Paul's domestic violence
02:11investigation paused production on season five.
