00:00It's just something that I honestly didn't really know how to formally address for a long period of my life.
00:07And that it's, I'm gay, and I'm bi, and date women and men.
00:12Layla Taylor is receiving an outpouring of support from her Secret Lives of Mormon Wives co-stars after coming out
00:18as bisexual.
00:19The 25-year-old opened up about her sexuality during an appearance on Jay Shetty's On Purpose podcast,
00:25where she revealed that her castmates hadn't been told before the episode was recorded.
00:29Layla explained that they would be finding out through the podcast itself,
00:33adding that she believed they would be nothing but supportive.
00:35And that's exactly what happened.
00:37After clips from the interview were shared online, Macy Neely wrote that she was proud of Layla, adding,
00:42Love you, Lay.
00:43Macy's husband, Jacob Neely, also praised Layla, calling her strong.
00:48Jennifer Affleck and Whitney Leavitt both left multiple Red Heart emojis in the comments.
00:52Whitney added, Love you, Lay. So happy for you.
00:55Jennifer also shared a heartfelt message, writing,
00:58There's nothing more beautiful than living your truth. Love you, Lay.
01:02Miranda McWhorter said she was so, so proud of her.
01:06Even Miranda's ex-husband, Chase McWhorter, who was also the brother of Layla's ex-boyfriend,
01:11Macy McWhorter, reacted by leaving clapping hands and rainbow emojis.
01:15Miranda spoke exclusively to Page Six about Taylor's news, and here's what she had to say.
01:20But just like, as she opened up about it and like spoke to me about it, I was like, it
01:26just, you could just see her like oozing, just like relief, confidence, like she was just glowing.
01:31And I think that like her really coming into her own with being a black woman as well.
01:35I think that was kind of like a step one and like her hair journey and just like, you know,
01:41feeling more like herself, you know, growing up in such a predominantly white area.
01:46I think that was huge for her to kind of like start feeling and living like more authentically to her.
01:53And I think that was a great like segue into her being like, you know what, actually, like, there's like
01:58more I want to share.
01:59And so it's just been so beautiful to watch it all unfold over the last like year or two years.
02:03Jesse Draper also shared the podcast clip to her Instagram story, writing that she was proud of Layla and that
02:09she loved her.
02:10Meanwhile, Taylor Frankie Paul showed her support by liking the social media post.
02:14During the podcast, Layla said she spent a long time figuring out how to describe her sexuality, but is now
02:21very proud to be out.
02:22She explained that she never felt pressure not to be bisexual, but said she didn't have people around her growing
02:27up who modeled that experience.
02:30Layla also revealed that she's currently talking to a woman, though she chose not to identify her publicly.
02:35She described the relationship as understanding and supportive, saying the woman has allowed her to move at her own pace
02:41as she continues navigating this new chapter.
02:43Layla was previously married to Clayton Wessel before the pair split in 2023.
02:48She later dated Cameron Jolly and Mason McWhorter, with both relationships documented on Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
02:54Mason also appeared to show his support by liking Layla's coming out announcement.
