There is new life in women's boxing!

32 year-old local boxer Shantel Adams secured a knockout win on debut in Edmonton Canada to spark a revival of women's professional boxing. Adams was competing at the Lions Promotion: blood and belt tournament on Saturday where she defeated Klarisa Mootoo in just the first round.

02:23Her team has issued a challenge to 29-year-old female boxer Tiana Guy to determine who is the champion.
02:30Thus far, her team has indicated that Adams usually fights at 147 pounds,
02:36but has expressed willingness to come down to 135 pounds to fight Guy.
02:41In response, Guy's coach Rennell Cox stated that offers were made to arrange the fight in the past,
02:46but Adams' team turned it down.
