00:00Let's race over to Tokyo, where Jareem Richards will be on the track again tomorrow in the semifinals of the men 400 meter.
00:07But while he's still going strong, Jamaica's sprint queen, Shellyann Fraser-Price,
00:12well, she closed off her individual career at the world championships in Japan.
00:16The pocket rocket didn't medal in the final, but was happy to at least make the finals
00:20and end her illustrious career in the same country she made her world championship debut.
00:25And it has been my blessing to represent my country, and it has been my blessing to be able to do this for such a long time.
00:34You know, God has truly been good to me, and I cannot say that enough.
00:39You know, making the finals in itself is a huge accomplishment.
00:42Sure, it's not the results that I would have wanted for myself, but that's just life.
00:46You know, we just have to roll with the punches, and, you know, again, I've been blessed to be a part of so many different finals,
00:54and tonight I was a part of another one, so I'm grateful for that.
00:58Everybody loves Shelly.
01:00All right, day three of the world championships concluded with a massive upset in the women's 100-meter hurdle final.
01:06The Olympic champion, Masai Russell of America, was the hot favorite to add goal,
01:10but instead she was kept off the podium as Switzerland's Kambunji grabbed the goal.
01:15Set.
01:19And the way cleaning, that's the fantastic news for this field.
01:22Grace Stark to the first hurdle.
01:23Daniel Williams hit the second hard.
01:25Grace Stark still moving well.
01:26Masai Russell hitting hurdles as well.
01:28Toby Amazon going well, but look at Dataji Kambunji in late three.
01:32The Swiss, I think, steals it.
01:35That 12.26 for Dataji Kambunji is a huge lifetime best.
01:40It's going to be Dataji Kambunji on top of the pile here.
01:45What a run from Kambunji.
01:47Toby Amazon, 12.29.
01:50It's a silver medal for her, and Grace Stark gets herself onto the podium.
01:55What a beautiful race.
01:56And the greatest fourth vaulter of all time added yet another world record to his CV
02:01as Sweden's Mondo Duplantis set the bar high, literally, going 6 metres,
02:076 metres, 30 metres for his 14th world record and his 8th global pole vault gold medal.
02:15They're roaring him on.
02:16Is it his fourth world record of the year?
02:19Yes!
02:19Oh, yes!
02:20Oh, yes!
02:22Oh, yes!
02:24Cometh the hour.
02:26Cometh the Swede.
02:28The whole place is enraptious.
02:30He's held us all in the palm of his hand,
02:34and he's delivered the knockout blow again.
02:37Even his dad, even his dad is on the verge of tears this time.
02:42Just when you think, just when you think he can't get any better, he does.
02:48We will never, never forget the night that Mondo Duplantis lit up the stadium
02:54and captured the headlines and the hearts of everyone.
02:59He's a world record holder again.
03:01What a night and what a moment for Mondo.
03:076.30 metres.
03:09Wow, what a jump.
03:11Well, the excitement didn't end there in Tokyo
03:13as the marathon concluded with a mad sprint at the end
03:16while a New Zealander stunned the field in the 3,000 metre steeple chase.
03:21There was one of the closest finishes you'll ever see in the men's marathon.
03:26After 42 kilometres of running in Tokyo,
03:29somehow Alphonse Felix Simbu found a burst of energy
03:33to snatch it right on the line.
03:35He beat Germany's Amanal Petros by three hundredths of a second,
03:39which was closer than the winning margin in the men's 100 metres final.
03:43It was also Tanzania's first world title in track and field.
03:48I never believed if I won because, you know, we are going together.
03:54But at the end of the result, I saw I am champion, so very nice.
04:00At the end of the day, I mean, I win the...
04:02I bring the silver medal.
04:05It's like my first world championship, so it's meaning a lot to me.
04:09And, yeah, I mean, I'm so happy.
04:11I'm so happy for me and I'm so happy also for the first place.
04:15He deserves it and I deserve it too.
04:18It's a sport, you know.
04:19It's because of friendship, it is because of democracy
04:22and freedom and love, and that's what we did.
04:28And there was a big upset in the men's 3,000-metre steeplechase
04:33for defending champion Sufjan al-Bakali.
04:36Just as it looked like the Moroccan would clinch a third straight world title,
04:40New Zealand's Jordi Beamish out-sprinted him on the home straight to snatch victory.
04:45The former world indoor champion surprised not only al-Bakali, but also himself.
04:50If Jimmy can do it...
04:51Beamish is the perfect example why you should never give up.
04:54This was him in his heat on Saturday after he fell, getting his face stepped on.
05:00But he got back up to qualify for the final and now has the gold.
05:04Yeah, that one didn't quite go to plan, but, you know,
05:07it might have been a blessing in disguise.
05:09You know, that gave me a lot of confidence,
05:10just being able to get back up off the ground and qualify, you know, pretty easily still.
05:15Gave me a lot of confidence that my shape was even better than I thought it was.
05:20What a way to rise up after getting your dream stepped on.
05:23Well, here for Champions League, we'll return to action tomorrow.
05:27However, the Asian Champions League is already off and running.
05:31And there was a surprise as one of the favourites, Al-Itihad, was turned 2-1,
05:36while Shaja FC got off to a winning start in their opener.
05:40Al-Akhli of Saudi Arabia are in action,
05:42but another big Saudi Pro League team, Al-Itihad, slipped up in their opening game.
05:47Despite taking on, or taking an early lead, they went down to 10 men,
05:52and Emirati side Al-Wahda capitalised.
05:55Caio Canedo equalised, and then Lucas Pimenta scored the winner in the 98th minute to seal a 2-1 win.
06:01Emirati club, Shaja FC, have kicked off their campaign with a 4-3 win over 10-man Al-Garrafa of Qatar.
06:10Despite trailing for most of the match, Igor Coronado struck deep into injury time to earn Shaja the three points.
06:17Let's go, muddy our boots on the golf course, as it was a contrasting outcome for the two number ones in the sport,
06:25as American Scotty Schaeffler picked up his sixth title on the season.
06:29However, women's number one, Athia Tickly-Cool, came up just short of another title on the LPG.
06:37The American News claim two majors this season has now taken victory at the Procore Championship in California.
06:43Sheffler in good form, as he prepares for the Ryder Cup later this month.
06:47He joins Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, and Arnold Palmer as the only players since 1960
06:53to win at least six times in consecutive seasons.
06:58But the women's world number one golfer, Gino Tickly-Cool, just missed out on winning her second title of the year.
07:05She four-puttered the final hole at the LPGA Tour's latest event in Ohio.
07:09A bogey for the Thai player left the door open for England's Charlie Hull.
07:14She birdied the 18th to win by a single shot, while it's the 25th different champion on the Tour this season.
07:21Oh, can you hear that?
07:23That's the Boxing Bell Ring song-ding, where American Terence Crawford became the first boxer
07:28to become the undisputed champion at three different weight levels.
07:32Well, that's after Crawford took down Canelo Alvarez this weekend,
07:35and boxing is saying farewell to another champion as British boxer Ricky Hatton,
07:41unfortunately passed away at the age of 46.
07:45The American stepped up two divisions and won on points with all three judges in Las Vegas.
07:50He dethrones Alvarez as the super middleweight champion
07:53and extends his perfect record to 42 wins from 42 fights.
07:57More than 70,000 were there to watch, and the bout was streamed live on Netflix.
08:02Well, the world of boxing has been paying tribute to former world champion Ricky Hatton,
08:07who's died at the age of 46.
08:09He was found at his home near Manchester, and police are not treating his death as suspicious.
08:14The British fighter won 45 of his 48 fights
08:17and held titles in the light welterweight and welterweight divisions.
08:20And he was preparing for a comeback fight in December.
08:26All right, sometimes you just have to do it yourself.
08:30As you check out tonight's Real The Day.
08:34Boca Juniors loaded with attacking talents
08:36took the lead against Rosario Central in the Argentine Class Zero tournament.
08:41Rodrigo Batalha's header silencing the stadium.
08:44But Rosario Central have a world-class veteran in their ranks,
08:48and he delivered himself.
08:49Sometimes, you just have to do it yourself.
09:03So for scoring straight from the corner,
09:07Angel de Maria scores his way to the light TV6, play of the day.
09:11What a goal.
09:13And we're going to send that one out to TV6 viewer, Auntie Nazo,
09:17who's celebrating her birthday today.
09:19Happy birthday and a good play of the day.
09:22That's it for sport.
