00:00Ready?
00:00Okay, wait, yeah.
00:01Okay, wait.
00:01One, two, three.
00:02Damn it!
00:03Hey guys, it's Mi-Anne, and this is Beauty With Me,
00:06here with Patrick Ta, celebrity makeup artist
00:09who I've been following and loving for so long.
00:11We are going to be doing a look today on Mi-Anne,
00:14this look that I did on Gigi Hadid for Paris Fashion Week.
00:17Before we get started though,
00:18please make sure you are subscribed down below
00:20and follow me on Instagram at Mi-Anne.chan
00:23and follow Patrick on Instagram at Mi-
00:25No, that's my handle.
00:27At PatrickTa.com, don't follow her twice.
00:30At PatrickTa.com.
00:31Oh God.
00:32Rewind it.
00:33And while you're at it,
00:34add me on Instagram at Mi-Anne.chan
00:36and follow Patrick on Instagram at PatrickTa.
00:40So excited that I'm going to show you guys my foundation routine.
00:44This is Tom Ford's shade in Illuminate in 0.5.
00:47For this look, I really want it to look soft.
00:49I always like to blend it out before I apply foundation.
00:53So again, there's no harsh lines.
00:54We want everything to be seamless as natural as possible.
00:57I'm using La Mer's Soft Fluid Foundation.
01:00I love that golden undertone look.
01:02So Patrick, tell me about how you got into this biz.
01:07So I started doing makeup around eight years ago.
01:10I started in Arizona at a MAC counter and then I graduated to Los Angeles.
01:16I've always wanted to live in LA, but I never knew what for.
01:19So moving to LA six years ago, I had no clients.
01:24I didn't really know anyone, but Instagram was around.
01:26Instagram has completely changed my life.
01:29I honestly, I owe a lot of my success to Gigi, but also so Shay.
01:34Shay was one of my first celebrity clients in LA.
01:37I always apply foundation on with a brush first,
01:41just so everything like all the product isn't wasted.
01:43And then I take in the beauty blender and I learned this trick from makeup by Ariel.
01:47Even if you feel like it's hard, you really want to push the product into the skin.
01:51The next step, I am applying a little bit of a concealer.
01:55So I like using a concealer that is like one to two shades lighter than your foundation color.
02:00This is going to bring back dimension into your face.
02:02But I like to go in an upside down triangle, a little bit around the mouth and the nose,
02:08just so you get that cinch nose that we all want.
02:12Let's talk about Gigi and your relationship with her.
02:15You've been doing her makeup for years.
02:17I've been doing her makeup for about five years now,
02:19and she is also another sister to me.
02:21Does she let you do whatever you want?
02:22Um, pretty much.
02:23I feel like whenever, it just depends on how big the carpet is.
02:27Sometimes I do her makeup super last minute,
02:29so we don't have too much time to think about it.
02:31But she loves just like super glowy skin, a morphe like blender.
02:35It has like a pointy side just to give it the little extra cinched in nose.
02:41She keeps raising her eyebrows.
02:42I don't know what she's doing with the camera.
02:44I'm engaging with them.
02:46She's engaging.
02:47Tell me in the comments if you like it when I raise my eyebrows at you.
02:51I think that you guys are feeling me, but you're clearly not.
02:55Okay.
02:56This is Jouer's bronzer in the color medium to light.
03:00So I like to use two colors together.
03:02This is like adding on top of the contour.
03:03So I'm going to take this.
03:06I guess damping the product onto the skin.
03:08Um, I don't want to move the foundation that we just like spent so hard to like blend and push
03:14in.
03:14I'm still going to do a little bit of baking underneath.
03:17Um.
03:18I'm trying to avoid doing the eyebrow thing.
03:20Now that you told me about the eyebrow thing, I can't like unlearn it.
03:24Oh my God.
03:26You're funny.
03:26Time for blush.
03:28So I'm going to just finish baking whatever you want to highlight or bring out color.
03:33If you aren't being photographed, I'd probably say you probably don't need to do this.
03:37This is like reverse contouring.
03:38You're just baking underneath so then you can get that nice snatched look.
03:44So we're going to leave this on for maybe 10 minutes.
03:47Because I did the foundation first, I'm going to take a little bit of powder.
03:52Basically just set underneath so I can have a nice eyeshadow shape.
03:57This is Benefit's bronzer in Hoola.
04:00I love using bronzers as eyeshadows.
04:04What made you like get into using so much color?
04:07Because I feel like on your Instagram you're always like trying new eyeshadow colors and new shapes.
04:11I mean honestly, I think the first look that I ever tried that was color was your look.
04:17Was your look with Shea Mitchell.
04:19Blue underliner.
04:20I think it was MAC cyan.
04:22And then red lip.
04:24Remember that?
04:24Yeah.
04:25I follow you very closely.
04:27She follows me closely.
04:28Just kidding.
04:32So now that the eyes are done, I'm actually going to wipe off this baking.
04:37I am using Desi X Katie's Francation palette.
04:42I'm going to be using shade Jeans.
04:49There, we can all breathe.
04:51The eyeliner is done.
04:52I'm using this Morphe palette, this yellow color.
04:57So whenever I do color, I always do color with a purpose.
05:01They're always like wearing a little bit of like that color somewhere on their outfit.
05:05You do that a lot.
05:06You do a lot of like monochromatic like matching the makeup.
05:09I love, love, love, love monochromatic makeup.
05:11I think there's a quote from you.
05:12Someone at Refinery interviewed you like years ago about monochromatic makeup.
05:15And you said something about like you love it because it makes everything look so polished.
05:19Did I say that?
05:20That was me quoting you.
05:22I love monochromatic makeup because it just makes everything look so polished.
05:26It pulls together your outfit and your makeup.
05:29And then, so before I finish the eyes, I want to go in and apply my highlighter.
05:35So this is a product that I am beyond excited about to show you.
05:38I have been working on this for over two years and have three shades.
05:42To make application that much easier, my major glow setting fan.
05:46I'm actually going to use it on Mian.
05:49What color are you doing on Mian?
05:50I'm going to use Look at Her because she obviously wants people to look at her.
05:53She has blue hair on.
05:54You're going to apply this just right onto the peak of the forehead.
05:57And then for the cheekbone, you always want to go from the bottom of your lash line.
06:02Apply the product here as well.
06:04So this is going to, again, everything's going to fall onto your skin like in all the right areas.
06:09There's no harsh lines and it looks major.
06:14Major glow.
06:15Say it again.
06:16Major glow by Patrick Ta.
06:19You would include a fan in your line.
06:21That's so extra and amazing.
06:24That's so funny because this fan is called She's Extra.
06:26So you want to set your makeup.
06:29You use this because this is a tool that we didn't know that we needed.
06:33Yeah, it's so true though.
06:36The makeup tool you didn't know you needed.
06:38The headline writes itself.
06:40I want to do the body glow.
06:42So again, I name them after phrases that come from a place of excitement.
06:46Introducing a dream and introducing a moment.
06:49So a moment has bronze, gold, and pink pearl in it.
06:54It smells really good.
06:55Does it smell good?
06:56And look, do you see how it just like, you're just glowing.
06:59So this is Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir.
07:02I'm going to use a little bit of setting for it before I finish the rest of the face.
07:07And then this is where She's Extra gets to shine one more time.
07:12For brows now, I'm going to be using Taupe from Tom Ford.
07:20Before I apply my lip gloss, I'm actually going to lightly line Mian's lips with a little bit of Whirl
07:25from MAC.
07:27This is going to give the lips just a nice little shape.
07:31I have three lip shines that I'm coming out with.
07:33I'm going to use Ishi Younger Than Me.
07:35You can see how like-
07:36Oh, it's so shimmering.
07:37The pearl particles.
07:38And my-
07:39Ooh, nice.
07:41Doesn't feel sticky.
07:42It's not sticky.
07:43And it's also moisturizing, right?
07:45Mm-hmm.
07:45So why create this brand?
07:47When developing my first beauty line, it was my goal to create products to empower women
07:52to feel confident in their own skin.
07:55That's why everything that I'm creating with it is very see-through.
07:58Okay, so if she doesn't like it, it's fine.
08:02I'll just go-
08:03Cry.
08:03Be sad and cry, but-
08:05Okay.
08:06I love this look on Jujiso.
08:07I hope I like it on me.
08:08I like it.
08:09I like this yellow.
08:11I think you were afraid that it wouldn't look good with my hair, but I like blue and yellow
08:14together.
08:14The lip gloss looks really good.
08:16I love the makeup.
08:17I'm excited to take a million selfies.
08:19Thank you so much.
08:20You're welcome.
08:21I'm excited to try more of Major Glow as well.
08:24Major Glow.
08:25Damn it!
08:27Are you serious?
08:28Okay, okay, okay.
08:29Okay, okay, okay.
08:30See Major Glow again.
