00:03top six favorite makeup items at the drugstore.
00:07First things first, base products.
00:09I usually wear a concealer on the day-to-day, and this one is my favorite.
00:13It's by L'Oreal.
00:14It's called the True Match Concealer.
00:16I wear the lightest shade, which is Fair Light Warm.
00:19It's also Fair Light Neutral if you have more pink undertones, but it is a beautiful
00:23concealer.
00:24One reason I really love this concealer is because it has buildable coverage, which means
00:28you can layer it on top of itself so you can build the pigment, so you can conceal things
00:32like pimples and under eyes.
00:34It has a nice brush tip, so it's actually really easy.
00:37I'm going to cover up this pimple.
00:38I use concealer in lieu of foundation a lot, so that's why I put it all over my face.
00:44I'm going to get my brush, and I'm going to start blending.
00:48In terms of technique for blending, I would just use circular motions, but remember to
00:53always make your last stroke be downward.
00:56If you go upward, a lot of times you can make the peach fuzz more apparent.
01:05When you're doing your whole face, you can buff in circular motions like no problem, but
01:09if you want to really keep the coverage on one area, you should stipple instead of sweep.
01:16So that means going over your pupil like this.
01:19That way you're not distributing the pigment over a large area of your face.
01:23You're just concentrating on one area, and always blend down your neck because you don't
01:27want your foundation to not match the rest of your body.
01:29So what I really like about this concealer is how natural the finish is.
01:33It doesn't cling to any dry patches.
01:35It doesn't make my face feel oily, and it does cover really well.
01:39Next up is highlighter, which is my favorite part of doing my entire face.
01:43I probably have like 50 highlighters between the office and home, but this one is one of
01:48my favorites.
01:49It's by Colourpop.
01:50It's $8.
01:51You can buy it online on their website.
01:53It is a really good highlighter.
01:54Because the texture is so creamy, but yet it has a powder finish, I usually use my fingers
01:59for it because you get a little bit more pigment.
02:01You can use a brush, but it'll be a lot more sheer.
02:04So what I do is I just tap it onto my cheekbones, and then I kind of blend it as
02:10I go.
02:11It has a beautiful rose gold iridescent shimmer going through it, but it's very subtle at the
02:16same time, so it looks good on a ton of different skin tones.
02:19I love this highlighter, clearly.
02:21I love the texture.
02:22I love how it applies.
02:24And I like that it has a little bit of pink running through it, so it gives your face just
02:28kind of a little bit more color.
02:30Now that I'm done with my very basic face, I'm going to move onto eyeshadow.
02:35This palette from ELF is hands down one of my favorite eyeshadow palettes ever.
02:40Not even just at the drugstore, ever.
02:42It is so good.
02:43It's called the Mad For Matte 2 palette.
02:46It costs $10.
02:47It is very, very versatile.
02:49I usually layer a flesh tone shade all over my lid first because it's going to give a
02:54good base for whatever I put over top.
02:56Then I'm going to go into my favorite shade in the palette, which is this warm kind of
03:01terracotta, tangerine-y, orange-y shade.
03:03It's pretty pigmented, so I'm going to give it a little dust off so it's not too much on
03:07my eyes.
03:07And then I'm going to put it in the crease of my eye.
03:10And so that's going to give my eye a little bit more dimension.
03:18I always say when in doubt, blend more.
03:20You don't want harsh lines.
03:22You can also use it wet.
03:24If you use an angled brush, give it a little spray with water.
03:27You can use these eyeshadows wet and use them as eyeliner.
03:30So next up is eyeliner, which I'm going to use to complete my cat eye.
03:34This is the Almay liquid liner.
03:36It's definitely a drugstore underdog.
03:38It is very black.
03:39It's completely smudge-proof, transfer-proof.
03:43My sister plays tennis in it and it doesn't come off, so it's a good one.
03:46When I use liquid liner, I like to start with small, even strokes.
03:50Because if you do one big sweep, you have more of a tendency to mess up.
03:55After that base of color is down, I'm going to go in with the flick, which is the hardest part.
03:59But what I like to do is flick outward and then color in.
04:03So I'm going to do that now.
04:07I love this eyeliner.
04:09I've been using it for a long, long time.
04:11I like it because it is very opaque.
04:13It's easy to use.
04:15And it lasts a really, really long time, which is very essential on my oily, oily eyelids.
04:22Mascara is the one item that I think it's really not worth it to spend like $30 or $40 on.
04:29I always get drugstore mascara and this one is a current favorite.
04:33It is Catrice Glamour Doll Mascara in waterproof.
04:36I always wear waterproof because it helps hold a curl.
04:39This one has a really great plastic tapered brush, which helps get between all those lash hairs.
04:45And it has a very nice volumizing and holding formula.
04:50And you get all of that for the low price tag of $6.99.
04:53I always curl my eyelashes first and then I'm going to go in with my mascara.
04:59I kind of wiggle my mascara at the base of my lashes.
05:03If you look downward at your mirror rather than like looking straight on,
05:07it's harder for you to get your mascara on the top of your lid.
05:11Although I still do that all the time.
05:14So I love this mascara because it pretty much ticks all the boxes.

05:20Last but not least, lipstick.
05:23I know that I said that highlighter was my favorite part, but I think I lied.
05:26I think lipstick is my favorite part.
05:27This one by Maybelline is amazing.
05:30It's the Loaded Bold's collection.
05:33This is the red shade.
05:34It's called Dynamite Red.
05:36It's beautiful.
05:37It feels really good.
05:38And it's matte.
05:39I love matte lipsticks.
05:41They also have nude shades too.
05:43I'm going to go for red today though.
05:44It's a traditional lipstick.
05:45So I usually start in the middle of my bottom lip.
05:50Do a little blop.
05:51I use the tip of the lipstick to get my cupid's bow.
05:58And then I like to kind of soften the edges after I wear traditional lipstick like that.
06:03So I'll kind of go with my finger around the end.
06:05I am in love with this lipstick.
06:07It feels like lip balm.
06:09It goes on really opaque.
06:10The color selection is amazing.
06:12And it's only $7.49.
06:14So there you have it.
06:15Those are my six favorite drugstore finds.
06:18Obviously the drugstore has tons of different options.
