00:00At one time or another, your closet may have resembled something like that guy behind me,
00:04but today I want to show you some tips, some tricks that I find really easy to use that
00:08can help your closet go from that to something you can actually be proud of.
00:13Can't find your shoes, you can't find that shirt you want to wear to that pool party,
00:17that dress you bought last summer that you want to wear this summer because you forgot
00:21you even had it last summer, can't find that dress your mom wants you to wear, I may have
00:25thrown that out.
00:26We get dressed every day, might as well make it easy on ourselves.
00:31Okay so first things first, empty out the closet, I'm talking completely empty.
00:36If we're going to get to the bottom of this, we need to see everything out on the table.
00:40Now on to folding, everyone has their own style of folding things, but this is the technique
00:45that I like.
00:45Let's start with a t-shirt.
00:47Fold it in half lengthwise into one long rectangle, and then imagine this rectangle is divided
00:52into thirds, and fold along those lines, making a smaller rectangle.
00:57The more folds, the less wrinkled an item will get.
01:01I like this method because you can literally fold anything into a manageable size, and following
01:06this pattern every time gives uniformity to even the most random pieces of clothing.
01:14Into the closet it goes, and onto the next.
01:17Hangers.
01:18We've all been there, let's upgrade to this.
01:23And while we're at it, here's a fun way to hang a sweater that won't stretch out the shoulders.
01:29Fold the sweater in half, and place the top of the hanger in the armpit.
01:32Now, fold the arms over, then the torso, and, mind blown.
01:38Okay, this little trick involves hangers and those sticky little bumpers you put on the
01:42back of a frame.
01:44Adding these bumpers will keep slinky little numbers from sliding off hangers that don't
01:48have any grip.
01:58See that?
01:59This dress isn't going anywhere.
02:01What are shower rings doing in your closet?
02:04Well, they're great to use as hooks.
02:05I wear jeans every day, and it's nice to have them easily accessible.
02:09So instead of folding them, I put them on a hook just like this.
02:16And here's another thing you can do with the rings.
02:19Stack them up, and you instantly have an accessories holder for scarves or belts.
02:28I like to group my clothes together by type, but I also hang them in ascending order so
02:32it looks pleasing to the eye.
02:34And I'll finish it off with an easily accessible lint roller.
02:37So there you have it.
02:38Those are some quick tips to get your closet in order and make your mornings and getting
02:42dressed a little less stressful.
