00:00Hey guys, it's me Jen here with Refinery29, and as I've mentioned before, I'm a shorty.
00:06But today I'll be showing you some tips on how I make myself look taller.
00:13My first tip is all about hemlines.
00:16Dresses to be specific because they can go very wrong if they're at a weird length.
00:21My favorite length for a dress is one that hits mid-thigh.
00:25If it's maybe two or three inches above the knee, I find that that is the most proportionate for short
00:30people like me.
00:32I find that if you're wearing a dress that goes beyond the knee, it can look like you're drowning in
00:36fabric, so I would avoid that.
00:44My second tip is all about footwear.
00:46So the most obvious pair of shoes are heels, but I find that platforms will give you the height and
00:52you can have your comfort as well.
00:58I love wearing nude platforms because it just really streamlines the leg and makes your legs look even longer.
01:08Another option for a pair of shoes are ankle boots.
01:11And I find when I'm looking for the perfect ankle boots for shorties, the ankle part needs to be as
01:17fitted as possible.
01:18Not too tight so it's constraining you, but just tight enough to show off your legs.
01:25So my last tip is actually not about styling, but it's about how you can look taller when someone else
01:31is taking a photo of you.
01:37When you're taking your OOTD, have the person crouch down, not just lower, but physically kind of squat down because
01:45that way it just really lengthens your legs and makes you look taller.
01:49When someone takes a photo that goes above, like a weird MySpace angle, it's just going to make you look
01:55shorter and stumpier.
01:59I hope all you shorties out there found this video very helpful.
02:03You don't have to be tall to look tall.
02:05Please subscribe to Refiner 29 for more videos and I'll see you next week.
02:09Bye!
