Transcript
00:00Breaking news coming in from where I'm standing.
00:03TVK Vijay has sought an appointment with the governor at 4.30pm.
00:08That means TVK has the numbers.
00:10There could only be one reason on why Vijay has sought an appointment with the governor at 4.30pm
00:17and that could practically mean that Vijay finally has the numbers.
00:22VCK had said they were looking at the left.
00:24The left was supposed to be in a huddle at 4pm
00:27and word had come in from the left that they could in all probability move towards the TVK.
00:34And now the big news is that Vijay has sought an appointment with the governor.
00:40I'm standing right outside Lokmavan
00:42and Vijay has sought an appointment with the governor at 4.30pm this evening.
00:50If viewers, the audience with the governor is allotted to Vijay
00:56one can say we can expect an oath-taking ceremony tomorrow
01:01because Vijay would have only asked for an appointment if he had 118 signatures.
01:08This will also somewhere down the line lay all the speculation to rest.
01:144.30pm is when we are expecting Vijay to come in and meet the governor.
01:22The governor, the governor till now hasn't given him the go-ahead.
01:26The minute the governor gives him the go-ahead, we are going to let our viewers know.
01:32But he really can't stop him now because he said you come to me once you have the numbers.
01:38So Vijay clearly has the numbers it seems.
01:41118 is what Vijay needed.
01:43VCK 2, 2 each from the left parties of CPI and CPI-M, 6 in total.
01:49112, the TVK already has.
01:53107 of its own, 5 from the Congress.
01:56Add 6.
01:57Bingo!
01:58Vijay has the magic figure.
02:00So an appointment has been sought.
02:02But will it be granted if it's granted all TVK fans, all TVK admirers, well-wishers get set
02:09because then we are, in all probability, looking at an oath-taking ceremony tomorrow.
02:154.30pm is the time that TVK has sought from the governor.
02:21Let's cut across to Anagar.
02:23Anagar, this clearly means Vijay has the numbers.
02:26Because if he sought an appointment with the governor, he would have only done so for the
02:31third time to meet him if he has 118 signatures on that letter.
02:39In fact, that is the assumption, Napriti, that Vijay is confident of having the support
02:44of 118 bills.
02:45But, you know, we still officially don't have that confirmation from the left or the VCK.
02:49So there is a big question mark as to with what evidence is Vijay, you know, has sought
02:55an appointment with the governor.
02:57Because still now the VCK has not officially come out and said that they are supporting
03:01Vijay and neither has the left.
03:03So there is a lot of anticipation, a lot of question mark about this, you know, this meeting
03:07that Vijay has sought.
03:09Has he already obtained 118 signatures from the other smaller parties that we still cannot
03:14confirm at the moment?
03:16But what we are learning through our Lok Bhavan sources is that Vijay has sought that appointment
03:21at around 4 p.m. with Governor Arlikar.
03:24Remember, during the previous meeting, Governor Arlikar had told Vijay to come to him next
03:29time with 118 signatures.
03:31And is Vijay confident of being able to touch that 118 mark?
03:35That is still a question mark.
03:36We are still awaiting confirmation from the left parties.
03:39I am outside the Communist Party's office and the meeting is still undue.
03:43The VCK will hold meeting with its offer bearers and the two MLAs that it has at 5 p.m.
03:49It is only after that that a final announcement will be made.
03:52But now that Vijay has sought an appointment with the governor, question is having raised
03:56about whether he has already received some sort of an indirect support, some sort of an unofficial
04:02support from the smaller parties.
04:03Stay with me.
04:04But the support cannot really be indirect.
04:07The support will have to come in signatures on that letter.
04:10The last time, the governor had made very clear.
04:12It cannot be a promise.
04:14It cannot be, you know, a resolve that Vijay comes with stating that he will prove majority
04:22on the floor of the Assembly.
04:23These need to be bona fide signatures on that letter, which are not 112, but 118.
04:28And if, and I want to bring in our South Bureau Chief, Naga Arjun, into this conversation.
04:34Naga, if Vijay has now sought a meeting, the second meeting he didn't seek, he was called
04:39by the governor.
04:40If, and clearly told, the next time, if you want to seek an appointment, and if you want
04:46that appointment to get the go-ahead for taking oath, you need to come up with 118.
04:53That means Vijay and TBK have sought the time of 4.30 p.m. with the governor.
04:58That clearly means Vijay has the numbers.
05:02Absolutely true.
05:03That's a clear indication that the governor had told him that you're short of signatures.
05:07So please come back with 118 signatures.
05:09But what's interesting right now, Preeti, is that five people of the Congress, of course,
05:16have got a signature.
05:17There were reports that one independent who had won from the AMMK party, that is the TTV
05:23Dhinakarans party, has been roped in.
05:25So that's one ad, sir.
05:27But we'll have to wait and see because the left and VCK are yet to officially announce.
