00:00Standing by for the first images of Vijay leaving from the Raj Bhavan.
00:05The convoy has just gotten ready.
00:07You can see some movement of vehicles right now as Vijay is set to step out.
00:12The security, the traffic in fact has been completely blocked off.
00:15So we're standing by for the first images.
00:17As you see all the TVK leaders one after another also stepping out.
00:21Next will be the convoy with Vijay as well.
00:25And we'll get you those first images here on India today.
00:29We've got Pramodha and Anagar also standing by from this location to get you those images.
00:34Pramodha, I'm going to hand it over to you to get a closer look of who's emerging from the Lok
00:38Bhavan.
00:43Well the convoy for Vijay has started from the place and you could see that is a kind of like
00:47convoy with the security personnel.
00:49Including jammers and CCTV.
00:51Everything is coming out.
00:52That is the actual convoy that actually accompanies the Chief Minister.
00:55And it is actually leaving the Raj Bhavan at this spot.
00:59And here you could see one after the other.
01:01The vehicles are emerging.
01:03And that is Joseph Vijay.
01:04The Chief Minister Alex vehicle that is also being accompanied by the convoy.
01:08Behind which we could also see Venkat Raman, the Mailapur MLA.
01:12Anand, the T-Nagar MLA.
01:14Aarun Raj.
01:15The Sengotian.
01:15And Adha Varjana is also placed over here.
01:18Everybody is leaving from the Raj Bhavan right now.
01:21And one after the other the convoy has left.
01:23We've been told that Vijay is once again going to his residence because there is more discussions needs to be
01:27done.
01:28Everything especially about the numbers and such.
01:30Everything will be done.
01:30But for now the letter seeking, you know, showing the maximum majority number and seeking the governor to call him
01:37to form the government and such has all been done.
01:39Earlier the plan was that Vijay will actually do the swearing-in ceremony tomorrow by 11.30 a.m.
01:45That seems to be the plan.
01:46But if necessary it can be postponed for one more day.
01:49But that is also far-fetched because within 48 hours Vijay wants to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
01:59Yeah, he wants to hit the ground running.
02:00That's very clear.
02:01But ultimately whatever the governor decides on the timing, the date, is what will be final.
02:05So we're waiting for that notification, for that confirmation of exactly when the swearing-in ceremony will happen.
02:13But you just saw, and now we refer to him as the Chief Minister-Elect.
02:17The Chief Minister-Elect Vijay has left from here.
02:21Crowds again gathered.
02:22Like I said, this is the new normal in Tamil Nadu.
02:25Every time the CM goes, crowds will come together.
02:27You'll hear whistling in the air and promote telling us the swearing-in ceremony expected either tomorrow or the day
02:33after.
02:34It's going to be a huge, huge event.
02:36And as Vijay has left from here, he went with a band of TVK leaders, all of them coming together
02:43to be there in a big show of support.
02:45This is a huge moment for them.
02:47Many of them, I'll tell you, are first-time politicians.
02:50Many of them, for the first time, have become MLAs.
02:53So this, I'm sure, is a hugely overwhelming moment for them, which is why I constantly keep reiterating that this
02:59is history that's been made.
03:01I can keep saying it, you know, just to give you a sense of the scale of what we're looking
03:06at right now, of the moment of Vijay's taking claim to form the government.
03:12CM-Elect leaving now back to his residence for a lot more conversations of figuring out exactly how to run
03:18his government.
03:19There are a lot of challenges.
03:20Let's be very, very clear that everyone is going to be watching Vijay with a hawker to see exactly how
03:26he performs as a chief minister.
03:28It's a challenge for him to prove himself because as a superstar, he's never had any sort of administrative political
03:34experience.
03:35And he's been thrown right into the fire as chief minister now.
03:39And so now everyone's going to be talking about how he performs.
03:43There are already questions about the kind of promises he's made in his manifesto and the amount of money it
03:48would take for him to be even able to do that.
03:50But interestingly, right now, you've got an air of celebration across Chennai at this point.
03:57Let me bring in Anika Keishov also for more details.
04:00Anika, we're still waiting for a confirmation right now on whether the swearing and ceremony is going to happen or
04:07not come tomorrow, whether it's going to be pushed by a day.
04:11But it's very clear that Vijay is saying, let's not waste any time.
04:14Let's not wait for numbers to come in.
04:15We're going to go ahead and form a minority government.
04:35OK, we're going to go to Anika in just a bit, but let me cut across to breaking news that's
04:39coming in amid questions about numbers,
04:42whether there'll be subsequent parties that are joining the TVK right now, a newspaper coming in that the AIA-DMK
04:51deal has been kept on hold by the TVK.
04:54So the TVK is not really exploring that option.
04:57We gave you that sense that the last option essentially will be the AIA-DMK.
05:02Right now, Vijay is focusing on kind of stitching together a coalition.
