00:00for Al this morning. Good morning. Good morning, guys. You know, I think a lot of us are just sick
00:04of talking about the wintry weather. We have winter weather advisories out across the Rockies.
00:08Denver starting off the day with some snow on the ground. More snow is expected. This is slowly
00:13moving eastward, and it's actually connected to a bigger system. This cold front here is producing
00:18a lot of rain through New York, through Pennsylvania, heavier rain as you head down
00:22into West Virginia and into Kentucky, down through Tennessee, where we do have a lot of
00:26cloud-to-ground lightning, too. This cold front is going to slowly move to the east, but especially
00:31down through areas like Louisiana, into Mississippi, into Alabama, we have an enhanced risk of seeing
00:37some stronger storms. We can't rule out tornadoes. We'll likely see some strong gusty winds and, of
00:42course, the chance of some of that hail, too. This is going to slowly exit the east coast as we
00:47go
00:47into tomorrow. Still kind of unsettled down through the Carolinas, but most of the heavy rain, those
00:52heavier downpours, kind of tropical in nature, look to be down through Mississippi and into Alabama,
00:58where we could see about three to five inches of rain, so that could lead to some brief flooding
01:02as well. That's a look at the weather across the country. We'll get to your local forecast in the
01:05next 30 seconds. I had to keep my windows down because my car was so old, I would, like, asphyxiate
01:10myself. Yeah, yeah. You have some really chilly temperatures, so if you want to just roll the
01:15windows down, forget the AC for a while, this is the place to do it because across parts of the
01:20Rockies
01:21and through the upper Midwest, we have frost advisories, freeze watches, freeze warnings in
01:25effect. Temperatures are just so cold. Casper, Wyoming, 20 degrees. Denver, 30 degrees right
01:30now. Minneapolis, just barely above freezing. Green Bay is at freezing at 32 degrees. This huge dip in
01:36the jet stream just allows all of that cold air to funnel southward. Bismarck, North Dakota, high of
01:41only 51 today. Kansas City, 60, not bad, but that is still about 13 degrees colder than you would
01:47expect this time of year. Denver, nearly 30 degrees colder than average, a high of only 39 degrees
01:53today. Tomorrow, temperatures moderate a little bit, but we're still running about 10 to 20 degrees
01:57below average. Cincinnati, only about 63. Syracuse in the 50s. As we go closer to the weekend, though,
02:03temperatures will start to warm up a bit. Baltimore gets up to 79 degrees by Sunday. Boston, 69 by Sunday.
02:10Raleigh will be back into the 80s by Sunday as well. So some warmer air is coming. In the meantime,
02:14though, a lot of the hot temperatures are down south and out west. Temps in the 80s,
02:18but we do have a chance of some stronger storms today down through Louisiana, Mississippi, and
02:22Alabama with some damaging winds, and we can't rule out tornadoes either. That's a look at the
02:26weather across the country. Now, here's a peek out your window. This morning, what are we looking at,
02:31though? Good morning, guys. We are looking at some pretty stormy weather down through areas like
02:36Arkansas right now through Tennessee into Kentucky, moving into North Carolina. That will shift as we go
02:41through the day, and we will see some of those storms farther south. We've got snow falling out
02:44across the Rockies. That's where some of our coldest temperatures are. Our warmest temperatures
02:48are down across Florida into southern Texas, where we could see some record-breaking high temperatures,
02:53but elsewhere, we're still running about 15 to nearly 30 degrees below average. It is a little
02:58bit chilly for May, that's for sure, up across the Great Lakes. Some wet weather moving into the
03:02northeast looks beautiful out west, though. 60s, 70s, even some 80s across southwestern Oregon,
03:07so temps there, certainly feeling more summer-like. That's a look at the weather across the country.
03:11Now, here's a peek out your window. And that's your latest forecast.
03:16By the way, I feel like we should mention our golf yesterday, because Dylan and I played golf
03:19together yesterday. We've been talking about for Shinnecock Hills, which is significant,
03:22because that's where the U.S. Open men's golf may have the coverage on NBC Sports and People.
03:26Well, thank you. You were crushing that driver. Carson's saying that. I had some good. You're
03:31like consistently good. It was so great with Boomer Esiason. Yeah. President of the U.S. GA. Wow.
03:37Yeah, it's going to be a great major to watch. For the rest of us, it was just Tuesday.
03:41That's awesome. Take your presidents and raise you a golf major. Anyway, let's get to pop star,
03:48guys. Tony, his theaters in August. Yeah, looking forward to that later this year. All right,
03:54we'll move on to John Gio Studio 1A. So we move on now, leading to the production, putting out
03:59gnoming, so don't do that. Look at that. All right, Savannah, next up, Ella Langley. I mean,
04:03the thing is crossed over. It's on every list. It's number one. What a hit song. The Weren't
04:06for the Wind. I thought you and GBH were just singing. No. No, that's a different one. No,
04:10let's not, let's not encourage that. He's so powerful. He's got things. Dude-based picture,
04:15though. Okay, so you collectively are the powerful people? Well, so are we. We. We. The death.
04:20We. By the way, the aforementioned one and only third hour, we are getting you ready for Mother's
04:27Day. Some timely tips and tricks when it comes to flower arranging and how to gift the special
04:32woman in your life their favorite blooms without breaking the bank. Sounds good. And then later on
04:37the fourth, too, which will be fun. Plus, ask away, Chanel, and I will be answering your viewer
04:42questions on everything from our style. Oh, really? Yeah. Who wants to know to our pre-show ritual?
04:50Okay. Good times. Before we do anything else, I have so many thoughts, by the way. I know. I'll
04:55keep it all to myself. Uh, how's the weather? As you should. Yes. Smart man. Uh, it's beautiful.
05:00We'll develop skin cancer at some point in their life, and nearly 10,000 people are diagnosed in the
05:05U.S. every single day. So, on today's checklist, we're going to talk about how to identify it,
05:10how to prevent it as well. Dr. Moore. Always get checked. Okay. These are really good
05:14other tips. Yes. Great tips. Thank you, Dr. Nussbaum. Thank you. Okay. Still to come,
05:21our friend, Ellison. True crime fans, listen up. This morning, we are introducing you to a new
05:26original podcast streaming on Netflix. It's called Allegedly. So, it's produced by NBC News
05:32Studios, and it is hosted by Emmy Award-winning journalists. Talked about true crime stories,
05:38like the case of 22-year-old Gabby Petito, killed by her fiancé, Brian Laundrie, during a cross-country
05:44trip back in 2021. Like, I'm in national attention that I'm interested in. We want to discuss a
05:50different story. Yes. What are some of the other storylines you're getting into? I mean, I love you
05:54in the space. I think a lot of folks don't realize that there is this thing. I love it, but
06:00I joke
06:01about it. I also want to try to understand why it happened in the first place. Yeah. And for me,
06:05I always believe, like, so, like, my hope is that this, and also want to hear from people directly
06:10connected to it. Really sweet dives, especially... Thank you. Yeah. Journalists do their homework,
06:15for sure. You can talk about the set, because the set is so comforting. I feel like I'm in your
06:19living room, and there's some... Connect in so many ways, but a lot of little sneak together,
06:23the story of you. Yeah. You're like, there's a lot going on there, right? Yeah. Don't you become
06:28an episode there? Knock on wood. Congratulations. This is great. Yeah, congrats. I'm already a big
06:34fan, Ellison. Thank you so much. You can catch an all-new episode of Allegedly streaming now on
06:39Netflix. You're right about that set, though. Clearly a different budget code. All right. Coming
06:44up, look who's here. The multi-talented Beth Stern, her resume, of course. Thousands of foster and
06:49rescue pets find homes over the years, and now she's channeling her lifelong devotion into her latest
06:55children's book. It's come with a whole bunch of animals, and now it's just me. Sorry. And the book.
07:01And the book. And the book. And the book. It's much calmer in studio here this morning, but I love
07:05this,
07:05because you have foster... a foster cat and a foster bunny. Yes. And they kind of sparked this...
07:11Yeah. ...these animals. I have actually seven coca melon, named by our granddaughter, because she's watching
07:18this day. This kitten is tethered to me. Cats and rabbits do not get along. I know, but it's clear,
07:23they're getting along. I open the kids and share... It's a logical extension of...
07:27Well, they do incredible work, and my foster program is actually through North Shore Animal
07:31Like America. So I know Coco and Steven are now a permanent part of your home. They are.
07:35I'm curious. And you mentioned Billy Joel, but I also know you have found animals for Jerry Seinfeld,
07:41for Hank Azaria. Yeah. Do all your friends kind of come... And then I deliver them to the home, so...
07:46I mean, you've been coming on this show for years. Then, after working in New York all these years,
07:51and I met how... Like, lift them from your home and bring them outside, or...?
07:55I'm with you on the dogs and cats. You think I'm a crazy cat lady? What about the mosquitoes?
08:00Oh, you can't catch the mosquitoes. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah, good.
08:03Congratulations. Mother's Day. Wow. I'm going to pretend I made this one. Those are beautiful.
08:09Those are beautiful. What's the size of this thing? Um, you know what? Speaking of Mother's Day, before,
08:13before we go, we wanted to let you know our Shop Today team heading to the West Coast now,
08:17for their Next Stages event. This works out with a ticket. Sounds like you'd buy the ticket.
08:22It's worth just a swag bag alone. Just a swag bag. Love a swag bag.
08:25By the way, thanks, Sam. Thanks for hanging out. Thanks. I'm going to carry this around with you.
08:28Yes, you should. Tomorrow in the third hour of today. Everybody, have a wonderful day.
08:32You're so dreamy. Bye-bye. He is so dreamy. God, he's a dreamy man.

09:17That doesn't look like a happy one, right?
09:17Bye-bye.
