02:26it this uh this roster feels pretty set right now they've gone through free agency
02:31trades and and and the draft and you look at it clint they this is and i think most teams
02:38feel
02:38like they want to be here but i feel like the texans for what they want and what they're looking
02:41for clint they are they are a team that is definitely definitely ready to play football
02:48today right when you look at their their roster and their lineup uh you know the quarterback the
02:53running back of the line i think they're ready to play right now they've got the places in in in
02:59house in which they could be ready to to strap it up and play a game with the personnel they
03:04have
03:04but there are always additions and and and guys that people add hill clint during training camp
03:13there are probably guys that the texans may add that are cut or guys uh that that are looking to
03:19go somewhere else so it it never stops and nick casario always talks about how they're always
03:23looking to add to the roster so there may not be it but clint there are there are some guys
03:29that
03:30are still out there available that from a debt perspective from an anything perspective
03:36could be a help to what the uh the texans are looking to try to do yeah look i just
03:41looked down
03:42the list of i can't even remember who put it out it was it was uh the athletic or sports
03:47illustrator
03:48one of the one of the publications um put out a list of current free agents uh that are that
03:54are
03:55you know on the market and uh there for the taking and so i just went down the list i
03:59think it was 25
04:00i went down the list and and just looked at a couple of different positions that the texans
04:06um obviously i think obviously not again i mean clearly clearly nick casario and i don't think much
04:13alike that wouldn't be good for most astros fans if i mean uh texans fans if nick casario thought like
04:17me
04:17but however um the thought is is a couple of positions where they could they could use
04:23um quality depth i'm not just talking about hey man you ain't got enough bodies i'm talking about
04:28quality depth that would act depth that would actually make the team better and i i think it
04:34we can start just with the order of the uh the list one of the top free agents right now
04:39on on most
04:39lists is nausea harris the running back um out of alabama obviously a few years ago i believe he had
04:45four straight thousand yard years in pittsburgh uh then he then he flipped over to the chargers
04:50last year and and ruptured in achilles i think it was early early in the season was averaging over
04:55four yards a carry has averaged over four yards a carry the last two three years um and it has
05:00been
05:01a productive back now i don't know where the injury is in the the in his rehab but nausea harris
05:07the
05:07running back position i think the texans could add a running back i think they could add a a
05:12backup running back um even a guy that that may be may be able to split some carries with with
05:19david montgomery and feel that backup running back role and really really highlight um woody
05:27marks as that third down back we've talked about it multiple times i don't want to rehash it but i
05:30just think that's the best version of the running back room for the texans is if you got david montgomery
05:36as your head horse and then you've got you got woody marked as a guy that you can keep fresh
05:42for
05:43moments in the game whether it's late in the game when you when you're you you know you need to
05:47make
05:47a push or it's late in the game and you need a one-two punch a guy that you can
05:51trust to pass
05:52protect or it's in in critical situations two minute situations got to have it type situations
05:57or a package to where you know when you get across the 40 yard line you're going to get the
06:01odds are
06:02you're going to get a certain look between the 40 and the 30 well now we get woody in the
06:05game and boom
06:06woody's fresh and can run routes and can do some different things as a weapon uh i think that's
06:11a reality for the texans i think they look at the running back room i do think they realize they've
06:15got to make an ad there and i think the ad that you make is is a a number two
06:20back that that makes
06:21david montgomery better and woody marks better uh in that mix nazi harris was up there ron and and
06:27here's here's the interesting thing again because we felt like they we were surprised they didn't go
06:32back in the draft and that they feel a little short there yeah and and i'm not opposed in for
06:39what i'm talking about to to go with a a veteran back i mean you need a guy um you
06:44know they they like
06:45hard nose more downhill one cutbacks um i think woody marks is a little bit shiftier than they even
06:51than they even like but woody marks is coachable enough to do exactly what they ask him to do
06:55um but you you got a lot of bigger downhill one cutbacks um you know that are that are still
07:02out
07:02there and i'm not again i'm talking about second i'm talking about second tier running backs i'm i'm
07:06not second tier i'm talking about second uh backup running back type guys that are going to cost you
07:10anywhere from you know one to two maybe a little over two million dollars a year kind of deal there's
07:16a bunch of those guys out there um that could help this football team and so i it wouldn't shock

07:22if the texans didn't go that route nausea harris is the highest rated one obviously the achilles uh
07:28you know injury is a problem and then the there's there's several edge players out there that's the
07:34area that triggers me when you look because when you look at the texans and you look across the board
07:40right now they got dylan horton and onique robinson yeah as the backups right now that is different than
07:46having barnett who they had last year um autry who they had daniel autry last daniko autry yeah
07:54yeah that that's a little different so like that hassan reddick is one that jumps out that jumps out
07:59to me now his last two years hasn't been great but before that this was a guy that was four
08:04straight
08:04years double double digit sack seasons and it is hard not to also remember the defense and the coach
08:12that he's coming to that maybe that rekindles and he's better than maybe he would in other systems
08:17well they got they got several guys on the top 25 cleland farrell obviously he's an edge anthony
08:22jennings is an edge it's from from new england a little bit more of a run defender than than a
08:26than a go-getter so uh the new england background is as well as being somebody that on on first
08:32and
08:32second down can can play the run a little bit different than maybe some of the some of your
08:36pass rush guys uh there's also joey boses out there obviously injured you mentioned hassan
08:40reddick um there there's some guys and i left a couple of them off the list but there's a there's
08:45some guys out there that i think would help the texans and be really quality depth not just
08:48rotational pieces staying on that defensive line the defensive tackle position mario edwards jr who
08:53we're all familiar with it wouldn't shock me if he didn't uh return unless anybody out there is is
08:58privy to some information that i that i'm not aware of mario edwards jr played above
09:03expectations here when he was on the field obviously the the pd situation that he got into is not ideal
