00:02I appreciate you not putting a big blow in there.
00:05I was waiting for the dismount in the capper when whoever that was left the building.
00:14Paez, I forgot who it was that hit that three-run bomb that knocked Lance out.
00:19How do you say it?
00:20Pagese?
00:21Is that who it was?
00:22P-A-G-E-S, I think.
00:24Pages.
00:25You really think that's how you say it?
00:27Did you see that fella?
00:28Did you see that guy?
00:30He wouldn't walk around there with Christian Walker's mustache.
00:33I believe it's a white fella named Pages.
00:36Are you serious?
00:37Like in a book.
00:38I'll double check it, but I got the highlight.
00:40Let me see here.
00:41It's not Pages.
00:45I don't think I'm right either.
00:48It's not Pages.
00:51Yeah, because you're the expert on names around here.
00:55I think it's spelled Pages.
00:57I'm certain it's not Pages.
01:00Actually, I'm not saying it.
01:02I'm 100% sure it's not Pages.
01:05Let's find out.
01:06Let's hear it.
01:08That's drilled.
01:09That is gone.
01:11No doubter to left field.
01:13Andy Pages.
01:14Pages.
01:18We were surrounding it.
01:20Enough of that.
01:21We were surrounding it.
01:23We were surrounding it.
01:24Fair to Pages.
01:25I think it's fair to say that you and I were at least in the Latin community.
01:30Tyler never got out of Caucasian.
01:34It's spelled Pages.
01:35It is spelled Pages.
01:37Tyler never got out of Caucasianville.
01:41At least we were in Latin America.
01:43He was in the Ville.
01:44Whatever it is.
01:46Whatever it is.
01:47Oh, Andy left the building.
01:48Andy.
01:50Andy left the building again.
01:51Has Andy left it again?
01:53Yes, he has.
01:53Two home runs for Andy.
01:54There goes Pages again.
01:56Good God.
01:57Son of a bitch, Pages.
01:59I'll tell you what, baby.
02:00Hey, Framber was on the mound.
02:02Your ass is wearing it the next time, baby.
02:04You come up here and do that.
02:06Good God.
02:07Nine to one.
02:08What did we get to the bottom?
02:10What was it, Tyler?
02:11Pajes?
02:12Pajes.
02:13Pajes.
02:14I'm not saving that name in my brain.
02:17He's having a career day, man.
02:18Pajes is having a career day.
02:20I said Pajes.
02:21I like that, too.
02:22This guy, man.
02:23I was in the range.
02:24We were around it.
02:25Pajes.
02:25Yeah, that's two for him.
02:27He's gone.
02:28It is nine to one.
02:30Jason Alexander, he's not faring well.
02:34And let's just be honest.
02:36His opportunities to pitch up here, it has not gone well.
02:41He was a lot better last year than he was this year.
02:44He is getting drilled.
02:45Nine to one.
02:46What are we in the fifth?
02:47In the fifth inning.
02:49Oh, they're going to mess this up, too.
02:50In the fifth inning, and the Astros, it does not look like this rushing fellow, number 68.
02:58They got right guards in here playing.
03:00Oh, no.
03:02We suck again.
03:03They're really struggling right now.
03:06And the Dodgers, we talked about this, Clint.
03:09We talked about it coming into this series.
03:12That Boston series, we really felt really good about the pitching.
03:17And then we talked about, we'll really see.
03:20This is maybe the best offense in baseball.
03:24The Dodgers, the Braves have been really good.
03:27The Astros have been really good.
03:28But the Dodgers, one of the best lineups in baseball.
03:31They don't even have Mookie in right now.
03:33And we said, we'll see.
03:35Maybe we'll learn if the pitching is real.
03:38And really, after yesterday's performance, really the first two days, to be honest with
03:43you, outside of one guy, the pitching was okay.
03:48I don't know now.
03:50This is...
03:51It's reached a point where I'm not getting any more highlights.
03:54That's how bad this game is.
03:56Yeah.
03:58Yeah, stay away from the highlights.
03:59We're just getting hits again.
04:02I don't need Paige's second homer whenever it's 8-1 before that.
04:05God!
04:07Yeah, it's...
04:08No, it's not good.
04:09The pitching is not...
04:11It's not stabilized.
04:13It was not great at Boston.
04:15It was just bad.
04:16Well, you know, look.
04:16I mean, truth of the matter is, the only way we were going to...
04:19Is this guy pissing you off more than anything?
04:21I mean, I don't like his face.
04:23I don't like the way he walks.
04:24There's nothing I like about him.
04:25Where does Josh Miller...
04:27Where does 713-572-4610 Base Power Text Line YouTube and Twitch...
04:31Where does Josh Miller walking to the mound and covering his face...
04:36...rank in things that annoy you about this Astros season?
04:39Does it me or does it look like he's holding his breath when he walks in?
04:41Yeah, I was just about to say he looks constipated.
04:44It's constipated.
04:44It's the same face.
04:46I mean...
04:47Is Josh Miller walking out to the mound?
04:51Is that top five?
04:52Is that top five most annoying things for you on the Astros?
04:55Top three.
04:57He looks like a guy who, with each step, he probably lets out a little noise.
05:01Like, he's too bouncy when he's walking out there.
05:03Too bouncy.
05:04He's getting up on them toes every step now.
05:07He's getting some push off the balls of his feet, no question.
05:09Yeah, he is.
05:10Yeah, I'm not...
05:10I mean, look, the fact that we know who he is is a problem.
05:14The fact that he...
05:16I mean, hell, we see his face more than anybody not named Joe Espada.
05:20I tell you, man.
05:20Brent Strong, man.
05:21He had a cool walk out there.
05:23And he actually coached the pitchers well.
05:27Let's be honest.
05:28This guy, in two years, or however long Brent's been gone,
05:31this guy's made more trips in two or three years,
05:33and Brent did his whole career here.
05:352026 is a nightmare.
05:37This is insane.
05:39All right, speaking of a nightmare, let's go good here.
05:43Let's start.
05:43Two performances last night in AAA Sugar Land,
05:47and let's go with the good first.
05:49Josh Hader.
05:50Josh Hader was throwing bullpens,
05:53and hopefully this means he's getting closer, Clint,
05:55but every time he speaks, it scares you
05:58because he keeps talking about he's in the early stages of spring training,
06:01which is odd.
06:03But Josh Hader, last night in Sugar Land,
06:06he threw a scoreless inning.
06:08He threw 16 pitches, nine strikes.
06:11He walked a batter and hit another,
06:13but he threw 11 fastballs at average 94 miles an hour,
06:16but several more outings to keep his velo tracking up is ahead.
06:23But he got through the inning, scoreless inning.
06:25It was a little wild, but you like right now,
06:30mid-90s where his velo is,
06:32and you would hope that starts to improve.
06:35So I think that is a positive thing that he got out there
06:38because one thing about him, Clint,
06:40we know what Josh Hader is capable of and what he's doing,
06:43and there could be some work on stuff out there.
06:46It's really about how hard he's throwing,
06:48how comfortable he is,
06:50and to me that was a positive sign last night,
06:55seeing him be able to get out in game competition
06:59and come through and pitch well.
07:01Said he felt good afterwards.
07:02Yeah, that's what you can say, Ron.
07:04I listened to, I watched the interview of him after that outing.
07:09Very, very promising.
07:10I mean, clearly just felt like,
07:12unfortunately felt like it was his first outing in spring training,
07:15which you mentioned,
07:15which I'd like him to be a little closer to go time.
07:18But was very comfortable with his pitches,
07:24very comfortable with his velocity,
07:25very comfortable with how he feels in the rehab,
07:29and seemed to be in a really good spot.
07:31He didn't just say those things.
07:32It was pretty convincing, the tone and the delivery.
07:36So, you know, there's a silver lining maybe.
07:39There's some good news from a Tuesday,
07:42at least it's on a Wednesday,
07:43but from a Tuesday outing by Josh Hader.
07:45Now the other way.
07:48And Emai got his second minor league start.
07:51If you remember, he had the embarrassing start in Corpus.
07:55Double A, he couldn't do anything.
07:57He threw 60 pitches in two innings.
08:02And yesterday, when the manager, Joe Espada,
08:06his request was,
08:07I want to see you go four or five innings, Clint,
08:09and I want to see him just throw strikes.
08:11That's all he asked for him to do.
08:13And Emai yesterday, in Triple A Sugar Land, Clint,
08:17walked five batters in three innings,
08:19allowing one run on one hit with three strikeouts.
08:23He was able to only throw 27 strikes in his 63 pitches.
08:3127 strikes in his 63 pitches.
08:34And guess what, Clint?
08:35They've already announced.
08:37Joe said his next start will be with the Astros,
08:40and it will be in this weekend series against the Mariners.
08:44So he will get the start there.
08:46Well, I don't think Joe has much of an option.
08:49I mean, I think Joe's running out of options,
08:51literally running out of options at the lower levels to even fill starts.
08:58I mean, just to make a lineup, right,
08:59to get a start in rotation out there.
09:01Jason Alexander right now just seems to be the wheels coming off.
09:05He was a guy that you hope you could depend on in that fifth
09:07or sixth starter role, possibly once he got healthy.
09:10That's not going to happen.
09:12Yeah, four-pitch walk just if you're scoring at home just now.
09:15Yeah, so, I mean, look, I just don't know.
09:17I'll be honest with you.
09:17I don't know that Joe Espada has, you know, any other option
09:21other than to just say, hey, you know,
09:23Tetsuya Emi has got to get up here and start pitching.
09:25Whatever lessons he's going to learn in the big leagues,
09:29whatever struggles he's going to have transitioning from Japan to America,
09:35we're just going to have to watch it unfold in Astros' uniform,
09:37making too much money and too many injuries at the top right now
09:40for him to be piddling around in Sugar Land or Corpus.
09:42So, well...
