Leeds residents are being encouraged to plan ahead and check the traffic and travel arrangements for one of the biggest dates in the city's sporting and fundraising calendar.

00:00Jane Tomlinson's Run For All and Leeds City Council are holding the Robborough Leeds Marathon on Sunday 10th May.
00:07Residents are being encouraged to plan ahead and check the traffic and travel arrangements for the day,
00:12which is set to showcase Leeds as a city that lives and breathes sport,
00:16with large crowds expected to line the 26.2 mile route, giving their backing to the runners.
00:22A planned programme of temporary road closures and other traffic and travel measures will be in place.
00:27The marathon starts and ends at Headingley Rugby Stadium, with runners following a circular route to Woodhouse Moor,
00:35before heading to Lawnswood, Bramhope, Poole in Wharfdale and Otley.
00:39The Leeds Half Marathon takes place on the same day and will use much of the same route.
00:44The two events have attracted more than 13,000 entrants.
00:48In Headingley, parts of St Michael's Lane and Newport View will be closed to vehicles from 4am.
00:53Further closures will kick in on Cardigan Road, Beechwood Crescent, Kirkstall Lane and North Lane,
00:59and the Cardigan Road-St Michael's Grove section of St Michael's Lane from 6am.
01:05Closures of other selected roads in Headingley will be implemented from 7.30am.
01:10There'll also be closures on the A660, closures in Poole in Wharfdale and in Otley.
01:16The marathon begins at 9am and the half marathon at 10am.
01:20Affected roads along the route will be reopened on a rolling basis through the day, as soon as it's safe
01:25to do so.
