Leeds locals reveal their aspirations for 2026

What are your initial plans for 2026? Leeds locals and visitors reveal what's currently on their to-do list and where they'd like to venture to over the next 12 months.

00:00I'm excited for 2026. I really want to get my splits.

00:05I really want to be able to do the splits.

00:08Aspirations for us, a bit more travelling, maybe France next year,

00:14maybe some more camping. The kids really enjoy that.

00:17I'm just hoping that we have a really good summer again weather-wise.

00:20I'm optimistic and still got good health and still driving.

00:27So we'll see. I can't predict.

00:30I would like to get my park run speed down again to under 24 minutes if possible.

00:36And I'd like to get my golf handicap down to 18, which would be an achievement for me, trust me.

00:44And for me for 2026, it's always a cliché about New Year's resolutions,

00:50but I need to lose some weight and that's more important for my partner

00:55as she keeps having to go to the spare room

00:58because the snoring is dreadful. And last night, we had a snoring competition.

01:04I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom in the hotel.

01:07Alan was in the bath, sleeping, because my snoring was so bad.

01:12Now, he pointed all about it. He said I was the only snorer.

01:15I then said, look, Alan, you need to get to sleep first.

01:17When I got back into the room, he was snoring and I have it on tape.

01:21So without that video to send to his wife.

01:24I'm also excited to turn 20. That's terrifying.

01:27Me too. I'm also really excited.

01:30I'm also excited to, even though it's in September, to start second year.

01:34Yeah. And you really get the ball rolling.

01:37The ball rolling.

01:38It should be my first single person holiday in 2026.

01:41This is what I'm planning to do for myself.

01:43And it's just the way I think I'm not there with my partner in crime.

01:46So it's like, we're not together.

01:48We're not, he's not here anymore.

01:50So it's like, what do I do?

01:52So, so my friends will say, then when are you on holiday?

01:54So I'm kind of looking at lists of places and just, just interesting place.

01:59I've never been.

02:00Like, I think the thing is, I've looked at it.

02:02I looked at Italy again.

02:03I want, I want, I want to go a bit further if I can.

02:06And just live, live a life he wanted me to have.

02:11This is my theory for 2026.

02:13I'm excited because I've got my house sorted for next year already.

02:16Very excited to move in to my house, decorate that all cute.

02:21And that's in September.

02:22So that's like a while away.

02:23Last year, I took a trip around the world.

02:26And what it really gave me was an appreciation of the UK and the British Isles

02:30and the beauty that we have here, particularly in summer.

02:33So I'm hoping next year to have a few more staycations to stay at home and,

02:38you know, explore some of the British coastline in 2026,

02:43along with more personal development for me and my partner.

02:47I'm growing a little business and I'm hoping that that'll really take off next year.

02:52So I think there's great things to come.

02:54And I have a very positive sense of hope and anticipation for 2026.
