00:00This is my first parade, but not my first rodeo with pride.
00:04Every year the turnout is immense, so it's really nice to be the heart of it, doing the parade this
00:08year.
00:09It was something I couldn't miss out on with the uni as well.
00:13It's really important, it's a nice day, everybody's happy, everybody gets dressed up.
00:16It's a great atmosphere, and I think it's really important for the city as well, I think.
00:20It's something we all look forward to. Yeah, there's a lot of love around.
00:23We're part of the Outdoor Lads group, which is an outdoorsy hiking camping group
00:28for gay, bi, trans men, and the queer community to be part of,
00:33because we like to get out and enjoy the outdoors.
00:37So we've been to Pride, this is the third year in a row that we've been part of the parade.
00:43So yeah, it's a great time to meet new people within the group,
00:46but also as part of the wider community,
00:49and just celebrate being yourself and just being part of an amazing LGBTQ community.
00:56Last year, even with the rain, it couldn't dampen our spirits, it was absolutely amazing,
01:01and this year you can just expect a lot of enthusiasm, a lot of love, and just complete happiness.
01:08I am part of Gay Abandon.
01:11We are West Yorkshire's LGBT choir.
01:16We have taken in part in Leeds Pride quite a few times.
01:20We're just in the parade today.
01:22Last year we were singing on the main community stage.
01:26I think it's just a fantastic event.
01:31I think more than ever, people in the queer community need to be coming out,
01:36have this sort of visibility.
01:38This is my first Pride parade.
01:40I've been invited by my step-mum, and it's really nice to be a part of it.
01:44I'm absolutely loving it.
01:45I get to celebrate and be supportive of everyone around me as well.
01:49Family day out.
01:50Family day out.
01:50This is our first Pride ever.
01:53He's an ally, but I like girls, and I'm really excited for my first Pride ever
02:02because it looks really amazing here.
02:04There's so many different kinds of people.
02:06Queer history means so much to me, and I'm just really excited to be a part of Pride.
02:10It's a fantastic event, obviously a fantastic city as well.
02:15I think it's great that everyone can come together and support the community together.
02:20It's also a really lovely family day out as well.
02:24Yeah, just great to be with so many, many people in such a happy, happy atmosphere.
02:41I came to Leeds the first Pride 20 years ago, and I remember it being like, not as many people
02:48like in the parade, so like seeing this now is just like fills you with pride, and it's great
02:52that, you know, the community is like growing in terms of like feeling like safe to like do this
02:58each year.
